Ar-Ramadi.
Tribe expels shaykhs who met with puppet “Prime-Minister” Nuri al-Maliki.
The patriotic Iraqi news website alBasrah.net reported Sunday that Iraqi tribes that live in al-Anbar province in the area of ar-Ramadi and al-Fallujah had announced that they had convened a meeting and resolved to expel four tribal leaders who met with the US-installed puppet “Prime Minister” Nuri al-Maliki and representatives of the US occupation forces and made agreements with them to help them against Iraqi Resistance fighters.
The tribal statement as quoted by alBasrah.net reported that members of the tribes held a meeting on Saturday, 30 September, in the home of one of the shaykhs of the al-Mahamidah tribe, whose area of activity stretches from al-Fallujah to ar-Ramadi and one of whose members, Shaykh ‘Umar Hadid, is a commander in the Iraqi Resistance. The tribal meeting followed the evening meal and was attended by more than 20 major tribal personalities from al-Anbar. According to the statement issued by the group and published on alBasrah.net the meeting resolved:
“First, to expel Shaykh Sattar Bazi‘ ar-Rishawi, the Shaykh of the al-Bu Risha; Shaykh Hamid Farhan, the Shaykh of the al-Bu Dhiyab; Shaykh ‘Amir ‘Ali as-Sulayman, the Shaykh of the al-Bu ‘Assaf; Shaykh Khalaf at-Tarmuz, the Shaykh of the al-Bu Ghanim, as well as five heads of branches of the tribes that recently joined a delegation that met with al-Maliki and the occupation,
“Second, it regards the above-mentioned shaykhs as ostracized and whatever they say has no import for the members of their tribes. “Third, their blood may be shed by the tribes any time they enter al-Anbar Province. Fourth, they are considered traitors to God’s religion and to the homeland and their children and relatives must declare their disavowal of them within no more than three days. “Fifth, other tribal shaykhs are to be appointed in their stead and oaths are to be taken to them within a period no longer than one week, in order to prevent strife from erupting.
“Sixth, any agreement made between the above-mentioned tribes and the occupation’s puppet government or the occupation itself is invalid.” The source stated that there had been no pressure applied on the tribes by the Iraqi Resistance in al-Anbar to get them to take this position on the elders who went off to meet with the American and puppet regime leaders.
Earlier, on 28 September, Shaykh Hazim Rashid Abu Rishah in the name of the Abu Rishah tribe issued a statement concerning the conference that, ‘Abd as-Sattar Abu Rishah, had with the puppet regime and the decisions and resolutions that were issued by that meeting. The Abu Rishah statement said that those things “were contrary to our values, our tribal, political, and religious morals.” The statement said that the tribe regarded that meeting and its decisions as “serving the orientations of the occupation and its stooges and harmful to the interests of the country and the Believers.”
The Abu Rishah tribal statement, as posted on alBasrah.net concluded: “Therefore we declare openly and in the name of the Abu Rishah tribe that we denounce and condemn that conference and its resolutions and wish to clarify that the so-called ‘Abd as-Sattar Abu Rishah has no connection with us other than that of being a relative from the same line of descent, and that he is no shaykh of the tribe nor is he authorized to speak in its name.
“Long live the great Iraqi people! “Long live the Iraqi patriotic Resistance! “Shame and degradation to the traitors and lackeys! Signed “Shaykh Hazim Rashid Abu Rishah ad-Dulaymi.”

The bombs went off by a large American column that drove past at about 5pm local time that afternoon.
Killed in the attack, according to Captain Tu‘mah, was a US Marine Captain known as Steven Mark spelling unverified, the US officer in charge of Marine operations in the area of al-Musayyib, al-Haswah, Jurf as-Sakhr, and al-Mahawil ミ a predominantly Sunni area between Baghdad and al-Hillah that the Americans sometimes call the “Bermuda Triangle” or the “Triangle of Death” because of the frequency of Resistance operations on the strategic route from Baghdad to southern Iraq.
Captain Tu‘mah told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb attack killed Captain Mark and six of his men immediately and left another five Americans wounded. Iraqi puppet forces attempted to come to the aid of the Americans, Tu‘mah said, but the US troops turned them back, asking the commander of the Iraqi puppet army patrol to keep a distance from the scene of the attack for fear that the Iraqi puppet soldiers would discover the identity of who had been killed and then leak the information.
Tu‘mah said that since the death of the American Captain up until today (Sunday), US forces had been carrying out revenge campaigns, arresting, beating, and abusing local residents, particularly in the vicinity of Jurf as-Sakhr, about 65km south of Baghdad, and the surrounding area. The correspondent reported that the American Captain killed in the Friday attack was the highest-ranking US officer to be killed in the area.
