Resistance fighters assault US checkpoint in al-Qa’im Monday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 7:34pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance men armed with medium machine guns and hand grenades assaulted a US check point in the city of al-Qa’im not far from the Syrian border in western Iraq on Monday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance fighters struck with lightning speed, unleashing a hail of gunfire and throwing hand grenades into the checkpoint. They then immediately withdrew. US helicopters took off after the Resistance men immediately after the attack but found nothing. Meanwhile, other American forces as usual sealed off the area around the checkpoint making an assessment of the nature and extent of US casualties impossible to make.

US snipers kill six Iraqi civilians and American forces cut off electricity to children’s hospital, killing three babies on respirators in outraged city of Hit.

In a dispatch posted at 3:11pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation troops stormed into the Hospital for Infant Children in the middle of Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad, searching among the patients for wounded Resistance men they claimed had taken refuge there on Sunday night. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that US troops killed three babies when they cut off the electricity to the hospital, shutting off the oxygen on which the infants were depending. The infants then died.

The American troops also burst into the hospital delivery room where there were women in labor. The US troops conducted a search through the area looking for “wounded terrorists” as they called them. Meanwhile, American snipers killed six civilians in the al-Jam‘iyah and al-Juwayriyah neighborhoods of northern and central Hit in recent hours, local witnesses said. As a result of this latest spate of American killings of Iraqi civilians, the mood in the city is one of boiling rage.

Crazed American troops reportedly stab seven Iraqis to death in Hit Sunday night, in apparent sign of hysterical mental state of US soldiers in Iraq.

In a dispatch posted at 6pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a reported series of killings by US soldiers seemed to indicate a rise in the level of the Americans’ hysteria and mental imbalance. The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that during the previous night some US troops went around and knocked on local people’s houses. They then stabbed to death whoever answered the door with knives or bayonets.

Seven Iraqis were killed Sunday-Monday night by the US occupation soldiers, two of them women. The correspondent said that the crimes took place in the neighborhoods of al-‘Ummal and al-Qadisiyah and in the al-Jabal district. The fate of one family of four women, two men, and three children also remained obscure as they disappeared on Sunday-Monday night from their home in the middle of Hit. On the threshold of their house were found bloodstains, body scrapings and the remains of a human brain.

The correspondent reported that one wounded man, who had been stabbed 11 times in his head, chest, and abdomen when he answered the door. Although still alive at the time of reporting, doctors feared that with severed arteries and severe internal bleeding he had but hours to live.

The man muttered to the doctor in the hospital that there was a knock on his door during the night and when he went to answer it, he found US troops standing there. They fell on him with their bayonets and knives and then left screaming and laughing. The man said, “they spit in my face, and I don’t know the reason.”

Shaykh Khidr al-Kubaysi, the Imam of the grand mosque in Hit told Mafkarat al-Islam that civil disobedience had been proclaimed last night in the city and that demonstrations would be organized about this serious matter. Concerning a proper response to the killings, the Shaykh said, “blood must be paid for with blood. The men have sworn not to sleep tonight until they have taken revenge for those innocent victims.”

‘Anah.

Resistance rockets checkpoint on outskirts of ‘Anah Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a rocket at a checkpoint at the entrance to the town of ‘Anah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance fired a rocket at the checkpoint that is located near a fuel station by the intersection at the entrance to the town that the occupation forces, recently shut down. The rocket scored a direct hit on the checkpoint setting off an explosion and sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky. No details on the nature or extent of casualties were available.

Al-Hadithah.

Four-hour battle in al-Hadithah leaves a reported 10 US Marines dead or wounded.

In a dispatch posted at 7:21pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces and US occupation troops had fought a four-hour battle in al-Hadithah, 236km northwest of Baghdad.

The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the fighting erupted in the al-‘Alawi distict, the area of the market, and the region around al-Barid Street in the city. US Marines fought Resistance men armed with rocket launchers, medium and light machine guns, and hand grenades.

The Americans called in helicopters to attack the Resistance men from the air. After half an hour of fighting, the battle turned into street warfare moving from one lane to another and one street to another and from house to house. Resistance men sniped at the Americans from rooftops and detonated bombs in the path of the Marines. The witnesses said that the fighting ended when the Resistance men began gradually to pull out of the area.

Witnesses said that American helicopters emblazoned with a red cross landed in the city to evacuate US dead and wounded. At least 10 American Marines were either killed or wounded in the fighting. At the time of reporting US forces continued to surround the city, which was under a comprehensive blockade. The US troops were searching for Resistance men, using a yellow powder to check people’s hands to see if they had fired weapons within the previous 48 hours.

Resistance sharpshooter reportedly kills US soldier on bridge in al-Hadithah Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 12:38pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier on the Hajlan Bridge that crosses the Euphrates River in al-Hadithah, 236km northwest of Baghdad at 9am local time Monday morning.

The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that American soldiers are killed by Resistance sharpshooters every now and then on that bridge. The witnesses said that after the attack, US forces closed the bridge for two hours and arrested a number of local residents who happened to be near the bridge at the time. Previously a double explosive device had gone off by a US patrol on al-Barid Street in the middle of al-Hadithah.

US troops arrest 50 people near al-Hadithah on charges of planning to demonstrate in support of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn.

In a dispatch posted at 12:28pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces arrested 50 residents of the town of Barwanah on the eastern outskirts of al-Hadithah, 236km northwest of Baghdad, at dawn on Monday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces accused the 50 local residents of planning to hold demonstrations is support of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn, who was sentenced to death by an American-sponsored “court” in Baghdad on Sunday.

The correspondent in al-Hadithah reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that those arrested are Baath Party members, but relatives of the imprisoned men said that they had no connection with the Baath Party. The correspondent reported witnesses as saying that the Americans stole money and gold jewelry during their house-to-house searches in addition to arresting the 50 allegedly for planning to demonstrate.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance mounts assault on US headquarters in downtown ar-Ramadi early Monday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 3:47pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked the US base in the center of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad at 1:30pm local time on Monday afternoon. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that Resistance men fired rocket-propelled grenades at the Immigration building in downtown ar-Ramadi’s al-Jumhuriyah district ﾐ a facility that US troops have taken over and turned into their local headquarters.

The source, who asked not to be identified, said that a gun battle erupted after the grenade attack and lasted about half an hour. The source said that explosions coming from inside the base could be heard throughout the city during and after the attack and gun battle. Flames and smoke could be seen rising over the building. The correspondent reported that US troops, who were deployed in strength in the city hurried towards their headquarters and surrounded it. The Americans also closed all the roads and streets leading to the US compound.

Al-Khalidiyah.

Resistance mortars pound Iraqi puppet army base on Sunday night.

In a dispatch posted at 3:34pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired five 82mm mortar rounds into the Iraqi puppet army base in al-Khalidiyah on Sudnday night. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the shells scored direct hits on the base, setting off explosions and sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

Al-Fallujah.

Angry demonstrations denounce death sentence against Iraqi President Saddam Husayn in al-Fallujah Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 7:16pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that massive demonstrations protesting the death sentence announced Sunday for President Saddam Husayn surged through the streets of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghad on Monday.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the angry protestors set out from the middle of town and marched through seversal neighborhoods in the northern part of the city carrying pictures of the President and shouting slogans in support of him and condemning the American death sentence against him.

The marchers said that the sentence, though pronounced by a puppet regime “court” expressed the will of the occupation and its stooges and was no verdict of a just court. They called for the stooges and foreign agents to be executed instead.

Resistance bomb blasts US patrol in western al-Fallujah Sunday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 10:18am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in western al-Fallujah on Sunday afternoon, after the announcement of the America death sentence against Iraqi President Saddam Husayn.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of a major road in the al-Andalus neighborhood near the new al-Fallujah bridge blew up as a US patrol was driving past. The explosion destroyed one Humvee, setting it ablaze. The source offered no details as to the nature or extent of casualties.

Baghdad.

Resistance bomb strikes Iraqi puppet army column in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 4:49pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a column of Iraqi puppet army troops in Baghdad. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a source in the puppet police said that the bomb had been planted by the side of the road on al-Wuthbah Square in central Baghdad and that it went off by a passing puppet army column. The source gave no details as to the nature or extent of damage or casualties.

Resistance mortars blast “Green Zone” in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 4:48pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance forces fired four mortar rounds into the top-security area in downtown Baghdad around the Iraqi Republican Palace ﾐ the district dubbed by the Americans the “Green Zone.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that three shells landed inside the “Green Zone” sending light smoke rising after them. One of the Resistance shells blasted into the south gate to the “Green Zone” in the Karadat Maryam section of Baghdad. No information on the nature or extent of US casualties was available.

Pro-American sectarian militias bombard historic Sunni Abu Hanifah Mosque early Monday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 2:41pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier the cathedral mosque of Imam Abu Hanifah an-Nu‘man was the target of a barrage of 13 mortar shells apparently fired by pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militia.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported from Baghdad’s al-A‘zamiyah district where the mosque is located four of the shells landed in the Tigris River. The nine others blasted into the mosque itself and surrounding areas. The correspondent reported that the shelling had left an as yet undetermined number of people dead and wounded.

Resistance fighters use decoy bomb to lure, blow up puppet “Shock Troops” in ad-Durah.

In a dispatch posted at 1:45pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troop (Maghawir)” officers were killed in a well-planned ambush in southern Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in as-Sayyidiyah in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah as saying that Resistance men planted two bombs at the scene. One of the bombs was a fake decoy, which was not completely covered. The second, planted nearby was well concealed.

The puppet forces were then alerted to the fact that a bomb had been spotted in the area and when the “Shock Troop” sappers showed up with a robot and began to try to defuse the first bomb, the Resistance men detonated the second explosive device by remote control. The explosion killed two of the puppet “Shock Troop” bomb disposal officers and totally destroyed the robot. Several puppet security men who were accompanying the sappers were wounded in the blast.

Puppet regime extends curfews following announcement of death sentence on Iraqi President Saddam Husayn.

In a dispatch posted at 1:19pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi puppet regime announced the extension of the curfew it had imposed on the occasion of the announcement of the US death sentence on Iraqi President Saddam Husayn. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet “government” extended the curfew in Baghdad and in the provinces of Diyala, Salah ad-Din, and Ninwa. The extensions of the curfew were to be in effect “until further notice.”

In a dispatch posted at 1:02pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had shot down a US helicopter in the al-Ishaqi area, south of Tikrit and about 85km north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-Ishaqi who witnessed the attack as saying that the Resistance fired a surface-to-air rocket at the helicopter causing it to crash into the garden of the Bunyah house in the middle of town during Sunday-Monday night. At the time of reporting, American forces had been surrounding the town since the attack. The local residents said that the crew of the American aircraft had been killed in the attack and their bodies had been recovered.

Ad-Dulu‘iyah.

US soldier reported killed by Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet in ad-Dulu‘iyah.

In a dispatch posted at 12:24pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in ad-Dulu‘iyah, 97km north of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported motorists who witnessed the attack as saying that a US soldier who was manning a checkpoint in the city was struck in the head by an Iraqi sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him instantly. The witnesses said that immediately after the attack, the Americans closed down that checkpoint.

Ba‘qubah.

Puppet regime security forces in Ba‘qubah shoot into crowds of demonstrators protesting death sentence on Iraqi President Saddam Husayn.

In a dispatch posted at 4:09pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two people were killed and three more wounded on Monday when Iraqi puppet regime security forces opened fire on demonstrators protesting the American death sentence on Iraqi President Saddam Husayn. The incident occurred in the city of Ba‘qubah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that hundreds of Iraqis defied a shoot-on-sight curfew to take to the streets to demonstrate against the “verdict.” Protestors surged through numerous neighborhoods and streets in Ba‘qubah, chanting slogans in support of Saddam Husayn and condemning the death sentence.

The demonstrators demanded that President Saddam Husayn, who they noted is the legal president of the country, be released immediately. The demonstrators said that the “verdict” was unjust and political and that it was imposed from outside Iraq. After the puppet police efforts to break up the angry crowds failed, they began shooting directly at the demonstrators, killing two and wounding three more who were later taken to hospital for treatment.
