In a dispatch posted at 3:33pm Makkah time Tuesday, afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US warplanes were at that moment striking the eastern and northeastern suburbs of ar-Ramadi, some 110km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that fire and plumes of smoke were rising from the houses that were struck in the raid.

Hit.

US troops abduct 70-year-old grandmother in Hit to try to force her grandson to surrender to occupation forces.

In a dispatch posted at 3:15pm Makkah time Tuesday, afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation troops abducted an elderly Iraqi lady in Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad. The Americans intend to hold the woman hostage until her only grandson surrenders to the occupation troops.

The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that American occupation soldiers arrested al-Hajjah Zakkiyah, 70, on Monday in her home in the al-Jam‘iyah neighborhood of central Hit in order to put pressure on her grandson to turn himself in to the invader troops who accuse him of planting bombs in the path of American columns.

The correspondent reported that the grandson was the only relative left al-Hajjah Zakkiyah had left in the city after her son and his wife were killed in an American bombardment last year. She has other relatives, but all have moved away from Hit. Local residents in Hit declared a general strike on Tuesday to protest the Americans’ arrest of al-Hajjah Zakkiyah. Shops closed their shutters and government offices closed their doors and demonstrators took to the streets to demand that the grandmother be released immediately.

Al-Fallujah.

Bomb targets US patrol in al-Fallujah Tuesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 10:05am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short time earlier, an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol near the western entrance to the city of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb went off near the Jordanian Hospital near the checkpoint at the western entrance to the city. The blast damaged a vehicle in the American column, but no details on the nature or extent of casualties were known because US and Iraqi puppet forces at the checkpoint and from the nearby US base rushed to close off the area.

Pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen give Sunnis in Baghdad neighborhoods 72 hours to vacate their homes or their wives and children will be killed, as efforts to split up Iraq on sectarian lines continue.

In a dispatch posted at 10pm Makkah time Tuesday, night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen had distributed leaflets in numerous Sunni districts of the occupied Iraqi capital threatening local residents that if Sunnis did not leave their homes within 72 hours their women and children would be killed.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Sunnis in the neighborhoods of as-Sihhah and al-Ma‘alif in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad ﾐDurah as saying that Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen banged on doors of Sunni families and stormed aggressively inside where they ordered the man of the house to vacate his home with three days or he and his family would be killed. Residents said that in some cases the Shi‘i sectarian gunmen also beat up the Sunni residents during those “informative visits.”

The sectarian assaults, kidnapping, torture and murder are seen as part of an American and Zionist effort to split Iraq up along sectarian and ethnic lines. Such efforts are consistent with plans hatched by US and Zionist politicians and reflected recently by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations) in “The Three-State Solution” published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003, in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006.

Banking on splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American Zionist government officials Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 1996 for the then Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Then in 2000 the neo-Conservative Project for a New American Century wrote Rebuilding America’s Defenses on the basis of the “Clean Break.”

But before the recent period, the idea of “the dissolution of Iraq into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veternan Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)

Shi‘i sectarian gunmen loyal to pro-American cleric Muqtada as-Sadr launch bloody assault on Sunni district, kill defenders, seize two mosques under eyes and ears of US-installed puppet police.

In a dispatch posted at 8pm Makkah time Tuesday, night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that numerous gangs of pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen took over the Sunnis mosques of Asma’ Dhat an-Natiqin and al-‘Asharah al-Mubashsharin bi-al-Jannah in the al-‘Amil neighborhood of Baghdad.

The correspondent reported that the Shi‘i sectarian gunmen only managed to take control of the two Sunni mosques after a half-hour gunbattle in which the Shi‘i sectarian attackers killed all the mosque guards and local defenders who rushed to do battle with the gunmen whose forces were far more numerous than those of the defenders.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the pro-American Jaysh al-Mahdi sectarians pasted up portraits of their leader Muqtada as-Sadr and pro-American sectarian cleric Grand Ayatallah ‘Ali as-Sistani in the two mosques. The correspondent noted that the gunbattle and takeover of the Sunni mosques took place under the eyes and ears of the US-backed Iraqi puppet police who made no move whatsoever to protect the mosques from the bloody Shi‘i sectarian assailants.

Bodies of 16 more tortured, murdered Sunnis, found in Baghdad; a total of 152 Sunnis murdered in sectarian torture killings since Saturday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:52pm Makkah time Tuesday, afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet police found 16 bodies of tortured and murdered Sunnis in two parts of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet Health Facilities Protection Police as saying that 16 bodies were found in as-Sadr, al-Kazimiyah, and Abu Dashir on Tuesday. The source said that the number of murdered and tortured bodies of Sunnis that had been found since Ramadan began on Saturday, 23 September, had now exceeded 152.

Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen attack Sunnis in al-Khadra’ area of Baghdad Tuesday afternoon.

In a bulletin posted at 3:01pm Makkah time Tuesday, afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that pro-American Jaysh al-Mahdi Shi‘i sectarian militias were at that moment assaulting houses of Sunnis in the al-Khadra’ neighborhood of central Baghdad.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Sunnis in the area were battling with the attacking Shi‘i sectarian gunmen. Three of the Sunni defenders had been killed in the fighting but Sunnis had also taken one of the Shi‘i sectarians prisoner. The Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen assaulted the commercial complex in al-Khadra’ and killed one Sunni there and then fanned out into the side streets and lanes in the area where local residents began to fight the invaders. In a dispatch posted at 8pm Makkah time Tuesday, night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fighting was still underway in the neighborhood.

Resistance car bomber blasts US column in Baghdad midday Tuesday leaving four American troops reported dead.

In a bulletin posted at 12:45pm Makkah time Tuesday, afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that several minutes earlier an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter had driven an explosives-laden car into a passing American column near the al-Bayya‘ fuel station on the highway in occupied Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported workers at the fuel station who witnessed the blast as saying that at least four American troops had been killed in the explosion. The correspondent reported that fire could be clearly seen burning in one of the American vehicles. US troops surrounded the area immediately after the attack.

“Judge” in US-run show “trial” expels Iraqi President Saddam Husayn from courtroom for third time.

In a dispatch posted at 11:35am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US-appointed “judge” Muhamamd al-‘Uraybi presiding over the show “trial” of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn and six other captured Iraqi leaders, expelled the Iraqi President from his “courtroom” Tuesday for the third time since taking over as presiding “judge” last week.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported that al-‘Uraybi opened the proceedings on Tuesday morning with a verbal attack on the Iraqi President, saying he must “behave properly” or he would be expelled, saying that the American sponsored show “trial” was not a political platform but that he would be allowed to defend himself and question witnesses.

After that, the Iraqi President drew a card out of his pocket from which the “Judge” allowed him to begin reading. The “Judge” turned off the President’s microphone, however, preventing his words from reaching the press that was assembled to cover the “trial.” The “Judge” expelled the Iraqi President for commenting on the lack of justice in the American run proceedings. Shortly afterwards, the “Judge” also expelled the Iraqi Defense Minister Sultan Hashim, another of the captives on “trial” with the Iraqi President.

Resistance motorcycle bomber blasts puppet police patrol in Baghdad Tuesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove wearing an explosive belt and riding a motorcycle drove into a puppet police patrol in the al-Andalus Square area of Baghdad and blew up Tuesday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that one puppet policeman was killed and several others wounded in the blast.

Car bomb targets headquarters of pro-US “Iraqi Communist Party” in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 11:09am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb blew up by the headquarters of the pro-American so-called “Iraqi Communist Party” on Abu Nuwas Street in occupied Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that there were no details on casualties in the attack as of the time of reporting. US and Iraqi puppet regime Humvees and other vehicles forces surrounded the area immediately after the explosives-laden car that had been parked by the side of the road blew up.

The leadership of the “Iraqi Communist Party” cast its lot with the US, working with the CIA against the government of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn since the Gulf War of 1991. The head of the “Iraqi Communist Party” then served on the American installed puppet “Governing Council” (as a representative of the Shi‘i community) chaired by US proconsul L. Paul Bremer after the American invasion in 2003. The pro-American line of the “Iraqi Communist Party” leadership has resulted in many Iraqi Communists and Marxists forming alternative parties and organizations that support the Iraqi Resistance.

The Ittihad ash-Sha‘b (“People’s Union”) led by Dr.Yusuf Hamdan; the Iraqi Communist Party (Cadre); and a Communist Party ﾐ People’s Union, founded in July are among the leftist organizations supporting the Iraqi Resistance, in contrast to the pro-American role of the so-called “Iraqi Communist Party.”

American soldier reported killed by Resistance sharpshooter in northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji Monday night.

In a dispatch posted at 11:30am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji at about 10pm Monday night. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a Resistance sharpshooter in a hidden location shot a US soldier in one of the observation camps that the Americans have set up in the area. The American soldier took a direct hit and died on the scene.

Two US troops reported killed in Resistance bombing Monday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the al-Mushahadah area, about 25km north of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb planted by the side of the road in the al-Mushahadah area went off by a US patrol at about 9:15pm Monday night. The explosion destroyed one Humvee and killed two US troops.

Ba‘qubah.

Resistance bomb targets puppet police in Ba‘qubah Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 2pm Makkah time Tuesday, afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in the city of Ba‘qubah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb by the side of a road in the third industrial zone in the southwest of Ba‘qubah went off by a puppet police patrol on Tuesday. The source offered no further details.

Babil Province.

Jurf as-Sakhr.

In a dispatch posted at 11:10am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a mortar barrage at the puppet police station in Jurf as-Sakhr, about 40km south of Baghdad and 60km northwest of al-Hillah, on Monday evening.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the barrage killed one puppet policeman and wounded five more of them in addition to inflicting material damage on the police station. The same puppet police station had been attacked and damaged by the Iraqi Resistance twice before and the Monday evening assault came just one week after the facility had been reopened following the earlier attack.
