Resistance pounds US base near Hit with mortars.

In a dispatch posted at 2:08pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired nine heavy mortar rounds into the US base in western Hit.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Baghdadi as saying that fires were seen burning and smoke billowed into the sky from within the ‘Ayn as-Saqr base following the attack.

Curfew imposed on Hit to allow US to deploy 900 more Iraqi puppet police in city.

In a bulletin posted at 1:40pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier US forces imposed a curfew to continue “until further notice” on the city of Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad. The occupation troops threatened to shoot anyone they saw outside his or her house so long as the curfew was in force.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops used loudspeakers to declare the curfew.

The reason for the curfew was reported to be the American intention to deploy an additional 900 Iraqi puppet police in Hit Saturday and Sunday. It was feared that the Resistance might mount attacks on the puppet policemen as they were being deployed before they could complete measures to protect themselves.

Ar-Ramadi.

US warplanes destroy vacant three-story building in ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 1:57pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier US warplanes struck a vacant three-story residential building in the middle of ar-Ramadi.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the building had been vacant for months after fighting escalated in the city and, with that, the danger of living in relatively tall buildings.

The correspondent reported that no civilians were killed in the American air strike which but the latest in a series of recent American attacks on buildings in ar-Ramadi. In the last week US forces have destroyed more than seven commercial buildings, claiming that the Resistance was using them to carry out sharpshooter attacks on American troops.

Resistance attack on US column north of ar-Ramadi leaves 10 US troops reported dead.

In a dispatch posted at 11:35am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters carried out a complex attack on a US column on the al-Jarayishi Road north of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the city as saying that the attack began when a large Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a passing US column, totally destroying a Zeal troop transport vehicle. Resistance fighters equipped with light arms and rocket launchers then pounced on the column, disabling a Humvee. In all, witnesses said, at least 10 US troops were killed and seven more of them wounded in the attack.

Al-Hadithah.

Fighting in al-Hadithah leaves US Humvee disabled.

In a dispatch posted at 11:18am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting broke out between Resistance men and US occupation troops in the al-Haqlaniyah area of eastern al-Hadithah, about 220km northwest of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Haqlaniyah as saying that the combat erupted when Resistance fighters equipped with light arms and rocket launchers ambushed a US patrol in the al-Andalus neighborhood of al-Haqlaniyah. The attack disabled one American Humvee. No information on the nature or extent of US casualties was available, however, because the Americans quickly surrounded the area.

‘Anah.

Resistance fighters destroy US patrol boat on ‘Anah Lake in western Iraq Friday evening, leaving two US soldiers reported dead.

In a dispatch posted at 1:20pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters equipped with light arms and rocket launchers attacked a US river patrol made up of several military patrol boats on ‘Anah lake, about 300km northwest of Baghdad, on Friday evening.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance fighters destroyed one river patrol boat, killing two US troops and wounding two more of them. The witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance men withdrew from the area after the attack having suffered no losses of their own.

Al-Fallujah.

Tribes in al-Fallujah set three conditions for taking part in so-called “Iraqi national reconciliation meeting.”

In a dispatch posted at 6:50pm Makkah time Saturday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the tribes of al-Fallujah held an enlarged meeting in the governorate building in the city on Saturday morning where they lay down three conditions for the holding of a so-called “Iraqi national reconciliation meeting.”

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Shaykh Thamir Farhan al-‘Isawi, one of the tribal shaykhs in al-Fallujah, said that the three conditions for entering into such a meeting are:

The recognition of all the fighting detachments of the Resistance by the Shi ‘ah and the Kurds.

The dissolution of the Jaysh al-Mahdi, the Badr Brigades, and the other Shi‘i sectarian militias either by force or politically.

The release of all Sunni women dependent prisoners and of all Sunni prisoners ﾐ estimated at tens of thousands ﾐ in the prisons of the occupation.

Al-‘Isawi explained that the when the three conditions had been implemented, the tribes would be ready to enter into a reconciliation meeting.

US soldier killed, two more wounded in attacks on American forces in al-Fallujah Friday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 10:45am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting raged between Iraqi Resistance forces and US occupation troops in the eastern and central area of the city of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad on Friday evening.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the citya s saying that the fighting erupted when Resistance men armed with light and medium weapons attacked a US patrol on the main road near the Martyrs’ Cemetery in central al-Fallujah, leaving two American troops wounded.

US forces responded to the attack by shooting indiscriminately at nearby houses.

In a separate attack, an American soldier taking part in a US patrol on the main road near the al-Furqan Mosque was shot and killed by an Iraqi Resistance marksman. The soldier took a direct hit from a sharpshooter’s bullet, dying instantly.

Meanwhile US forces imposed intensified “security” measures on the city, forcing traffic to back up into long lines at the entrances to the city as American troops thoroughly searched all cars and pedestrians in an effort to prevent weapons from being smuggled into the occupied city.

Baghdad.

Shi‘i sectarian militiamen murder Sunni baker in latest effort to carry out US-Zionist plan to split Iraq on sectarian lines.

In a dispatch posted at 6:40pm Makkah time Saturday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen loyal to Shi‘i sectarian leader Muqtada as-Sadr attacked and killed a Sunni baker in eastern Baghdad Saturday morning, in the latest of their sectarian crimes aimed at terrorizing the Sunni population and splitting Iraq on religious lines.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen stormed into a bakery owned by 61-year-old Abu ‘Umar al-Mashhadani, who was a Sunni Muslim, in the ash-Sha‘b district of eastern Baghdad on Saturday morning. The sectarian gunmen threw Abu ‘Umar in the bakery oven and closed the door, cooking him alive until his body was entirely charred.

The Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen then stole the money that al-Mashhadani had earned selling bread and carted off what they could carry from the ovens, fleeing the seen under the eyes of the Iraqi puppet police and puppet army.

Efforts to split Iraq along religious and ethnic lines ﾐ which often are masked under language about forming an Iraqi “federation” ﾐ are consistent with plans hatched by US and Zionist politicians and reflected recently by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations) in “The Three-State Solution published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003, in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006. Banking on splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American Zionist government officials Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 200 for the then Zionist Prime Ministe Benjamin Netanyahu.

But before the recent period, the idea of “the dissolution of Iraq into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veternan Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)

Bodies of 14 more Sunnis tortured and murdered by pro-American Shi‘i sectarian death squads found in Baghdad Saturday.

In a dispatch posted at 6:25pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bodies of 14 tortured and murdered Sunnis were found in various parts of Baghdad on Saturday morning.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that nine bodies of murdered Iraqis were brought into the Center for Forensic Medicine at 10am local time Saturday morning. Another five bodies were delivered two hours later after the puppet police found them in Baghdad’s Madinat Saddam district (dubbed “Madinat as-Sadr” after the American occupation).

A source in the Forensic Medicine Center told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bodies all belonged to Iraqi Sunnis kidnapped by Shi‘i sectarian gunmen at various times and places. All the bodies bore the marks of extensive torture and scalding by boiling water.

Resistance car bomb targets puppet police patrol.

In a dispatch posted at 11:05am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a passing puppet police patrol in the al-Qahirah neighborhood of northern Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the car bomb, which had been parked on the main road near the an-Nida’ Mosque, blew up by a passing patrol of puppet policemen. The explosion totally destroyed a patrol vehicle, killing three puppet policemen and wounding two more. Two civilian cars that were in the area were also damaged in the blast and four civilians were wounded.

Resistance car bomber blasts US patrol in southeast Baghdad, leaving five Americans reported dead.

In a dispatch posted at 10:42am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US patrol in the Zuyunah area of southeastern Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Zuyunah as saying that the car bomb went off by a patrol of several Humvees on the main road in the area, near the al-Amanah Bridge. The witnesses said that the blast completely destroyed one Humvee and disabled a second, killing five American troops and wounding two more of them.

The area where the attack took place was still surrounded by US troops at the time the correspondent filed his report.

US soldier reported killed in Iraqi Resistance bomb attack in western Baghdad’s al-Ghazaliyah.

In a dispatch posted at 10:18am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol on the main road in the western Baghdad area of al-Ghazaliyah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Ghazaliyah as saying that the bomb, which had been planted by the highway near the western entrance to Baghdad, went of by a US patrol, disabling an armored Humvee an dkiling one US soldier and wounding three more of them.

Resistance Grad rocket blasts “Green Zone” Saturday morning.

In a bulletin posted at 10:04am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, Iraqi Resistance forces had fired a Grad rocket into the top security area around the Republican Palace in Baghdad where the American occupation forces have established their headquarters, the district that they have dubbed the “Green Zone.”

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the rocket blasted into the heart of the “Green Zone” and that at the time of writing, plumes of thick smoke could be seen rising over the area.

Salman Bak.

Resistance bomb in Salaman Bak kills four Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen.

In a dispatch posted at 11:58am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a group of cars carrying Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen on the main road to the Bawi area of Salman Bak, about 35km southeast of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Salman Bak as saying that the blast totally destroyed a Jaysh al-Mahdi vehicle, killing four Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen who were inside.

Ba‘qubah.

Resistance fighters kill three Shi‘i sectarian militiamen in Ba‘qubah.

In a dispatch posted at 10:35am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed three members of the Shi‘i sectarian militias in the city of Ba‘qubah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Ba‘qubah aas saying that Resistance fighters armed with machine guns attacked two members of the Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood of the city Saturday morning, killing them instantly.

Witnesses said that in a separate attack, Resistance men equipped with machine guns also killed one member of a Shi‘i sectarian militia who was concurrently an Iraqi puppet policeman in the al-Mafraq neighborhood of western Ba‘qubah. After killing the puppet policeman, the Resistance fighters immediately withdrew from the area.

Kirkuk.

Resistance bomb kills three Iraqi puppet policemen.

In a dispatch posted at 11:04am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded by a puppet police patrol on the road to Baghdad south of Kirkuk.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that two bombs on the road to Baghdad went off one after the other by a passing Iraqi puppet police patrol, destroying one patrol vehicle and disabling a second. Three puppet policemen were killed, among them the officer in charge of the patrol. Three more of them were wounded and 10 civilians who were in the vicinity of the blast were also wounded.
