・More than 10 US troops killed when series of Resistance bombs blasts US tank, Humvee near Tikrit at dawn Friday. American troops then invade local mosque, murder muezzin and three worshippers and set fire to copies of the Qur’an.

Resistance mortars bombard US base in al-Hadithah Thursday night.

In a dispatch posted at 12:45pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of six mortar shells at the US base in al-Hadithah, about 220km northwest of Baghdad, late on Thursday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that sirens could be heard wailing inside the facility and fire was seen blazing in the base, the second largest US base in the Upper Euphrates region. US helicopters flew in low over the facility after the attack.

Al-Fallujah.

Iraqi Reisistance mounts repeated attacks on US occupation forces in al-Fallujah Thursday night.

In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Friday morning Makka time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters carried out more than nine powerful attacks on US occupation forces and bases in farious parts of al-Qa‘idah on Thursday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance hit the al-Fallujah Education Building ﾐ a facility that the American troops have taken over and turned into one of their strongholds ﾐ with Katyusha rockets.

In another attack, the Resistance bombarded the American headquarters known as as-Simak in what was formerly the al-Fallujah Youth Center, but is now an American headquarters in the eastern part of the city.

The Resistance set off three bombs by US military columns and clashed for about an hour with American troops on al-Jaysh ash-Sha‘bi Street in the eastern part of the city starting at about 11pm Thursday night. Three military vehicles were completely destroyed in the Resistance attacks, one of them American and two of them belonging to the Iraqi puppet forces. No information on the nature or extent of US casualties was available.
Baghdad.

Puppet police commander for al-Karadah in Baghdad survives car bomb attack Friday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 4:25pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resisatnce fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into the motorcade of the puppet police administrator for Baghdad’s al-Karadah district Friday morning.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that that the motorcade of Colonel ‘Ali Muhamamd, the commander of the puppet police in al-Karadah and concurrently a commander in the pro-American Badr Brigade Shi‘i sectarian militia, was hit by a Resistance car bomber. The puppet police commander survived the attack, but witnesses said that five of his companions were killed in the attack and several others were wounded.

In a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that more than 10 US soldiers were killed in the as-Siniyah area northwest of Tikrit at dawn on Friday and others were wounded. In retaliation the Americans stormed into the old as-Siniyah Mosque, killed the muezzin and desecrated and then set fire to the copies of the Qur’an in the building.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses who live near the scene of the fighting as saying that Resistance men planted four bombs on a side streets that US columns regularly pass over about a quarter of hour before the break of dawn Friday morning. When an American column came along the bombs destroyed an American Abrams tank and a Humvee, killing more than 10 US troops, witnesses said.

The Tikrit correspondent reported that after that, American troops stormed into the old as-Siniyah Mosque that is only about 100 meters from the scene of the bomb attack. They killed the muezzin and three other worshippers in front of the mihrab (the niche in the front of the mosque facing in the direction of Makkah).

The US troops then kicked the copies of the Qur’an in the mosque to the door where they gathered them together and set them on fire. They then attacked the furniture in the mosque setting some of it on fire and breaking up some of the rest. On coming out of the mosque, the American survivors of the bomb attack found three youths heading towards the place of worship and arrested them. It later became known that the three youths were the sons of the muezzin murdered by the American troops.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam received confirmation from a source in the as-Siniyah puppet police who said that “more than 10 US troops were killed in a series of explosions that targeted the occupation forces near he as-Siniyah Mosque.”

At-Tarimiyah.

Resistance bomb destroys US troop transport, leaving an estimated nine Americans reported dead Thursday night.

In a dispatch posted at 12:20pm Friday afternoon Makka time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded by a US military patrol in the
at-Tarimiyah area, about 30km north of Baghdad at 11:30pm local time Thursday night.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in at-Tarimiyah as saying that the Resistance bombs ripped apart a column of four American Humvees and one Zeal troop transport vehicle. The explosion destroyed the Zeal troop transport killing all the US troops aboard, an estimated nine US Marines. Witnesses said they saw the vehicle ablaze and helicopters flying overhead, as US vehicles arrived and surrounded the area.

Al-Mandali.

Thursday clash between Iranian and Iraqi puppet army troops confirmed.

In a dispatch posted at 11:10am Friday morning Makka time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that sources in the Iraqi puppet border guards had confirmed that clashes broke out on Thursday between a puppet border guard patrol and Iranian troops in the area of Mandali on the Iraq-Iran frontier as a result of the infiltration of an Iranian patrol into Iraqi territory.

The al-Mandali correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Captain ‘Abd al-Karim al-Bayyati of the Iraqi puppet border guards as saying that the fighting erupted at 9:30pm Thursday night after an Iranian patrol had entered Iraqi territory. The clash went on for about half an hour.

The source said that as a result of the fighting puppet guard Major ‘Ali ‘Awdah, the commander of the Iraqi patrol and four of his men prisoners of the Iranians after their Land Rover vehicle was destroyed.

Al-Bayyati said that the US troops who had been nearby at the time did not intervene. He said that the Iranian force was large and its troops were well armed, and therefore the Iraqi puppet guards fled rather than engage them, abandoning the five men who were taken prisoner.
