Resistance bomb reportedly kills one US soldier, blows leg off of second in as-Saqlawiyah, Friday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 6:35pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance land mine exploded by a US military vehicle in the ash-Shuhada’ neighborhood of as-Saqlawiyah, about 17km north of al-Fallujah at 2pm local time Friday afternoon. A second bomb was planted near the first mine, but it failed to explode due to some malfunction.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi Resistance as saying that at least one US soldier was killed and three more of them wounded when the bomb went off by a US vehicle. The source said that one US soldier was killed in the blast and three more of them wounded ﾐ one of those losing his leg. US occupation forces surrounded the whole area. They found the second bomb and dug it up and then used bomb-detecting robots to comb the area for more explosive devices.

Al-Baghdadi.

Resistance bomb destroys US Humvee in al-Baghdadi midmorning Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 607pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in al-Baghdadi, about 170km northwest of Baghdad at 10:30am local time Friday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Hit, just east of al-Baghdadi, reported that the blast destroyed a Humvee in the patrol, killing or wounding the Americans who were aboard it.

Witnesses reported that American troops surrounded the area for two and a half hours as a US helicopter landed at the scene of the bomb attack and evacuated the dead and wounded Americans. Meanwhile another truck came and lifted the wrecked vehicle. During that time the American troops would not permit local people to go to the one local mosque to say the Friday congregational prayers at midday.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance battles US troops in downtown ar-Ramadi early Friday afternoon.

In a bulletin posted at 2:20pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting was raging at that time between US occupation troops and Iraqi Resistance fighters in the al-Qattanah area and around the Immigration Building ﾐ a facility that the US forces have turned into one of their headquarters ﾐ in downtown ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance was firing anti-tank rockets, mortars, and medium machine guns at the Americans and that fire and smoke could be seen in the area where the fighting was going on.

Car bomb targets US column east of ar-Ramadi at dawn Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb that had been parked by the side of a road in the Hasibaht ash-Sharqiyah area east of ar-Ramadi blew up by a passing US military column at dawn Friday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a white Daewoo car that had been parked by the side of the road blew up just after a column of six American Humvees drove past.

Because the bomb went off slightly after the last American military vehicle had passed by, the explosion disabled one of the vehicles and wounded four US troops but caused no deaths. Local people who gathered at the scene after the attack reported that the Americans surrounded the area right afterwards, closing the road for two hours during which time their other vehicles took the damaged Humvee off to their base and evacuated their wounded.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance blasts US base east of al-Fallujah with Grad rockets at dawn Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:32pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four Grad rockets into the US base located east of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad, at 6am local time Friday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the four rockets sent black smoke billowing up from the US-occupied facility, after which American Apache helicopters were seen prowling the area.

Al-Hadithah.

US make mass arrests in al-Hadithah on Thursday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:02pm Makkah time midday Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces carried out a new and expanded wave of mass arrests in the city of al-Hadithah, 220km northwest of Baghdad on Thursday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Shaykh Ahmad Farhan Khanjar, a local resident, a saying that the Americans arrested 43 residents of al-Hadithah and the suburbs of Barwanah and al-Haqlaniyah on Thursday.

The men abducted by the Americans ranged in age from 15 to 65 years. The Americans arrested one elderly man who spit in the face of an American officer. His fate remained unknown at the time of reporting. All the captives were blindfolded and bound and then the Americans took them away to the US ‘Ayn as-Saqr base in the city of al-Baghdadi.

Al-Habbaniyah.

Resistance bombards US-occupied al-Habbaniyah base Thursday night.

In a dispatch posted at 11:12am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired six heavy 120mm mortar rounds into the main US military base in al-Habbaniyah, 69km west of Baghdad on Thursday night. The al-Habbaniyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Bu Mar‘i village as saying that the mortar rounds sent thick plumes of smoke rising from the facility.

Puppet “Health Ministry” admits: over 300 Shi‘i sectarian militiamen killed or wounded in Thursday’s Resistance offensive on sectarian militias in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 12:15pm Makkah time midday Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that more than 300 Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi and Badr Brigade militiamen had been killed or wounded in the various attacks on them in the Baghdad area Thursday according to a source in the puppet “Iraqi Ministry of Health.”

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that there had been several Resistance attacks on gatherings of Jaysh al-Mahdi and Badr Brigade sectarian militiamen and on a headquarters of the Islamic Da‘wah Party of former Shi‘i sectarian puppet “Prime Minister” Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari.

The Resistance used Katyusha rockets, mortars, car bombs, and one roadside bomb to score repeated hits on sectarian targets in the districts of at-Talibiyah, al-Qahirah, al-Bunuk and near the notorious Buratha Shi‘i mosque, a center for torture and murder of Sunnis.

Resistance bomb leaves US soldier reported killed in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 2:40pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the northern city of al-Mawsil. The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road in the al-Wahdah section of eastern al-Mawsil exploded at 7:30am local time Friday morning.

The blast disabled a Humvee, killing one US soldier and wounding three more of them. Witnesses said that the force of the explosion three the body of the one soldier who was killed outside his vehicle. Afterwards, US troops surrounded the neighborhood and launched a campaign of raids and searches, arresting four local residents that the occupation forces claimed were behind the attack.

In a dispatch posted at 11:02am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the pro-American Kurdish separatist authorities have issued an order to take down the Iraqi flag from public buildings, schools, and other places where if lies and to raise the yellow Kurdish separatist flag instead. The Irbil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Mas‘ud al-Barzani, the puppet “President” of the Kurdish region of Iraq, issued an order to the puppet security forces to pull down the Iraqi flag from all official and semi-official sites in the entire Kurdish-dominated region and to raise the Kurdish separatist flag in its place.

The correspondent reported that the measure was ordered on Thursday and dozens of Kurds were seen raising the separatist flag in place of the Iraqi one. The correspondent added that al-Barzani also ordered that a “Kurdish national anthem” be chosen, one different from the Iraq National Anthem. The change of symbols, clearly a step towards the partition of Iraq, has been paralleled in the south of Iraq by the pro-American Shi ‘ sectarians who have written their own “national anthem” which has been played on many occasions attended by Sectarian Badr Brigade leader ‘Abd al-‘Aziz al-Hakim, and the sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi leader Muqtada as-Sadr.

Efforts to split Iraq along religious and ethnic lines ﾐ which are often masked under language about forming an Iraqi “federation” ﾐ are consistent with plans hatched by US and Zionist politicians and reflected recently by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations) in “The Three-State Solution published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003, in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006. Banking on splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American government officials who are concurrently Zionists Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 2000 for then Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

But before the recent period, the idea of “the dissolution of Iraqi into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veternan Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)

Resistance blasts US base in an-Nasiriyah with Katyusha rockets.

In a dispatch posted at 7:27pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four Katyusha rockets into the main US base in the southern city of an-Nasiriyah on Friday afternoon, igniting a fire inside the American camp and setting off three light explosions. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the rockets struck the US-occupied camp ﾐ which was the Imam ‘Ali Base of the Iraqi Army prior to the American invasion in 2003. The base, now one of the major US facilities south of Baghdad is located 5km southwest of an-Nasiriyah. After the barrage, US helicopters prowled the skies over the bases and warning sirens wailed inside the facility.

Prisoner from western Iraq dies in notorious US prison camp near al-Basrah.

In a dispatch posted at 7:12pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a Sunni prisoner being held in the notorious American prison Camp Bucca has died according to a source in the al-Basrah puppet police. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Shaykh Mahmud Naji al-Halbusi died of a brain hemorrhage at dawn Friday. The source said that the Shaykh was found dead in his solitary confinement cell at dawn. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that his body would be transported to the al-Halabisah area of al-Fallujah in western Iraq to be handed over to his relatives.
