７０年代のアメリカのパンクロック歌手、パティ・スミスが、イスラエルのレバノン爆撃に反抗する歌を自分のサイトで発表、話題になっている。

「カナ」と題され、空爆によるレバノンの街の惨状を描き、これがアメリカが進める「新しい中東」なのだと歌う。
