US forces lock down al-Hadithah, launch campaign of mass raids and arrests. Americans claim to search for "Arab fighters" but arrest 70 local residents.
In a dispatch posted at 12:10pm Makkah time midday Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces surrounded the city of al-Hadithah, about 220km west of Baghdad, and its suburbs at dawn on Wednesday and began launching mass raids, searches, and arrests in the city.
The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the US forces had closed all the city’s entrances and exits and close the roads inside the city in addition to imposing a curfew. The lock down affected not only al-Hadithah, but also the suburbs of al-Haqlaniyah and Barwanah.
Eyewitnesses reported that at the time of reporting, American troops were raiding houses and making mass arrests.
In a dispatch posted at 5:50m Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces were searching the city for Iraqi Resistance fighters. Hundreds of Marines and Iraqi puppet forces had surrounded the city and were carrying out searches and arrests. At that time, more than 50 houses and four mosques had been searched.
Lieutenant Thomas Reed (exact spelling uncertain), spokesman for the 101st division working in al-Anbar Province and parts of Diyala said that the Americans had received intelligence information from collaborators to the effect that supposedly several Arab fighters for al-Qa'idah had entered the area.
But residents of al-Hadithah flatly denied to the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that any fighters from other Arab countries had entered the city, noting that none have been seen in the city for a long time.
Meanwhile US forces as of Wednesday afternoon had arrested more than 70 people ミ all local natives of al-Hadithah, most of them younger than 25 years of age.

Resistance bomb targets US patrol in ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 11:28am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol on the main road to the al-Mal'ab area of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad.
The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Mal'ab as saying that the bomb disabled a Humvee, killing or wounding the four American troops aboard.
Al-Habbaniyah.
Resistance car bomber blasts into puppet police station in al-Habbaniyah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:10am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance car bomb had exploded by the puppet police station in the al-Madani area of al-Habbaniyah, (locally known as "the C.C."), 69km west of Baghdad, killing and wounding several puppet policemen.
The al-Habbaniyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove a Caprice car into the puppet police station, killing four puppet policemen and wounding five more of them by preliminary count.
US occupation forces then surrounded the entire area, preventing anyone from going in or coming out in preparation for raids and searches, according to puppet police sources.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance bomb destroys US Humvee in al-Fallujah Tuesday night.
In a dispatch posted at 10:10am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol on the main road in eastern al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghad, on Tuesday evening.
The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the ad-Dubbat neighborhood who witnessed the attack as saying that a bomb planted next to the new street went off by a US column late Tuesday evening. The blast destroyed one American Humvee, the witnesses said, adding that they had seen the vehicle ablaze.
Since the attack took place at night during the hours of curfew, no information about the nature or extent of casualties was available.
Baghdad.
US helicopter reported shot down in al-Anbar Province.
In a bulletin posted at 10:27am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a source in the puppet "Joint Coordination Center" had disclosed that Iraqi Resistance forces had shot down an American helicopter west of Baghdad on Wednesday.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that four of the crewmen had been killed and that two were missing.
Earlier, in a dispatch posted at 10:21am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam had reported that the US occupation forces had admitted that a US helicopter had crashed in al-Anbar Province, wounding four of the six crewmen aboard. The other two crewmen were said to be "missing."
Mafkarat al-Islam reported a US military communiqu as saying that the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was on a routine trip when it crashed on Tuesday. The American command claimed that it had probably not been shot down.
Resistance fighters kill four Shi'i sectarian militiamen in eastern Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 10:40am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed four members of the pro-American Shi'i sectarian Badr Brigades and the Shi'i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi brigades in the al-Qahirah and Ur districts of eastern Baghdad
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Qahirah as saying that Resistance fighters equipped with light arms shot two Badr Brigade gunmen on a side street in their neighborhood. The Resistance fighters then withdrew from the area. Resistance fighters with light arms also shot and killed two Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen in the Ur neighborhood, after which they withdrew from the area.

Resistance bomb targets US patrol north of Yathrib.
In a dispatch posted at 10:45am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol on the road to an-Naba'i, north of Yathrib, about 70km north of Baghdad.
The Yathrib correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road to an-Naba'i disbled a Humvee, killing or wounding all four American troops who were aboard it.

Resistance bombards two joint US, puppet headquarters in Samarra’.
In a dispatch posted at 10am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of medium-range S-5 rockets at two headquarters jointly used by US and Iraqi puppet forces in the city of Samarra’, about 120km north of Baghdad.
The Samarra’ correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the headquarters that that occupation set up in the regional government building in the middle of town and the joint headquarters they have set up in the al-Buhayrah Hotel in the south of the city both came under violent S-5 rocket barrages that sent plumes of smoke rising from both facilities.

Resistance fighters ambush puppet "National Guard" patrol in al-Mada’in, killing three.
In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a patrol of Iraqi puppet "National Guards" in the city of al-Mada’in, about 25km southeast of Baghdad on the main road that leads to al-Hafariyah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Mada’in as sayig that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the patrol on al-Hafariyah Road, destroying two patrol vehicles and killing three puppet troops and wounding five more of them.

Resistance car bomb targets Jaysh al-Mahdi headquarters in al-Mahmudiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:23am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance car bomb had exploded by the al-Qa'qa' Residential Complex in al-Mahmudiyah, an area that the Jaysh al-Mahdi has taken over as a headquarters after expelling Sunnis from it by force.
The al-Mahmudiayah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the explosion had resulted in a number of dead and wounded and that ambulances hurried to the scene. No information on the nature or extent of casualties was available because Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen and US occupation troops jointly cordoned off the area.

Resistance bomb severely wounds three US troops in al-Mawsil.
In a dispatch posted at 1:30pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the as-Sukkar neighborhood of the northern city of al-Mawsil.
The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in as-Sukkar as saying that the bomb went off by the patrol as it drove down the main street in the neighborhood. The blast disabled a Humvee, seriously wounding three American troops and injuring two Iraqi civilians who were nearby at the time.

Pro-American Peshmergah truck full of explosives, ammunition blows up in Irbil.
In a dispatch posted at 12:46pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a truck loaded with explosives and ammunition for the pro-American Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militia blew up in the far northern Iraqi city of Irbil. The truck was hauling the materiel to the Peshmergah arsenal at the Kasanzan Complex.
The Irbil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Peshmergah as saying that the truck was hauling explosives and ammunition to the arsenal run by the Peshmergan and the pro-American "Irbil Guards (az-Zirfan)." The reason why the truck blew up was not known, though the Peshmergah source imagined it to be an "accident."
Shirwan Ahmad said that there had been several people killed and injured as a result of the blast, but would offer no further details.
