Al-Anbar Province.

Ar-Ramadi.

American troops spend hours savagely abusing and humiliating hundreds of men and women doctors, professors, teachers in ar-Ramadi’s al-Anbar University. Women robbed of wedding rings and jewelry; men forced to call themselves “dogs.”

In a dispatch posted at 10:40pm Makkah time Saturday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces rounded up and abused hundreds of Iraqi intellectuals, men and women in the city of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that American troops captured 24 women physicians, university professors, and employees in the gymnasium on the campus of al-Anbar University. For 10 hours the women were subjected to various forms of physical abuse by American troops, including being kicked, punched, spit in their faces, and beaten about the breast and abdomen.

The correspondent reported that the Americans spent a long time with each woman interrogating them one-by-one and asking about what work their husbands or sons did, whether they were saddened by the death of Abu Mus‘ab az-Zarqawi or not, and whether they were pleased when they heard that the “insurgents” (as the Americans called the Resistance fighters) had attacked US troops. After being subjected to long interrogations along those lines, the Americans took the women’s wedding rings and jewelry.

Meanwhile US forces captured and detained 319 male doctors, professors, and teachers on the sports field. Each one was told to write the English word “Dog” on a piece of paper. The men were then made to line up one behind the other with their pieces of paper and they were then given numbers so that they could be called “Dog 1,” Dog 2,” “Dog 3,” and so on. Mafkarat al-Islam reported that any one of the prisoners who refused to submit to such humiliation was tortured and abused in a way “no equal of which has ever been seen.”

The abuse of the male doctors and teachers ended after exactly 10 hours also. The US troops never found so much as a bullet on any of the men, nor did they designate any of them Resistance fighters, but they did arrest dozens of the professors and physicians, particularly those whose specialties were physics, electrical engineering, or computer science accusing them of helping the Resistance to make bombs or chemical compounds that the Resistance recently packed in Grad rocket warheads and fired at US occupation troops in large numbers inflicting casualties among the Americans.

Resistance strikes US-occupied camp in ar-Ramadi with Katyusha rockets.

In a dispatch posted at 12:03pm Makkah time midday Saturday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired two Katyusha rockets at the US headquarters set up in the former Iraqi Army’s 8th Brigade camp in western ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad. The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the rockets scored direct hits on the camp, sending pillars of smoke rising into the sky.

Al-Hadithah,

US soldier reported killed in ambush in al-Hadithah.

In a dispatch posted at 12:35pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons ambushed a US patrol in the city of al-Hadithah, about 220km northwest of Baghdad. The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the ambush took place in the al-‘Askari neighborhood in the city and left one American soldier dead and two other US troops wounded.

Al-Khalidiyah.

Resistance ambushes US column near al-Khalidiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 10:40am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters carried out a two-part attack on an American column on the highway opposite Jazirat al-Khalidiyah, about 80km west of Baghad. The al-Khalidiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Karabilah in the Jazirat al-Khalidiyah area as saying that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by the US column and then Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons and pipe rockets pounced on the column. In all two US vehicles were destroyed and seven American soldiers killed or wounded.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance bombards US headquarters in al-Fallujah with Katyusha rockets.

In a dispatch posted at 10:25am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired two medium-range Katyusha rockets at the main headquarters of US occupation forces in al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood of al-Fallujah as saying that the shells scored direct hits on the US headquarters, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

Two US troops reported killed in Resistance ambush of foot patrol in Hit Friday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 10am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons ambushed a joint patrol of US and Iraqi puppet forces in the city of Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad, on Friday evening. The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the ad-Dawwarah neighborhood in the city as saying that the Resistance fighters ambushed the joint foot patrol, killing two US troops and one Iraqi puppet soldier and also wounding two American soldiers.

Baghdad.

Resistance bomb targets puppet “Iraqi National Guard” patrol in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 11:55am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet “National Guard” patrol in the al-A‘zamiyah district of northern Baghdad. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-A‘zamiyah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the road to the as-Safinah district blew up by a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” patrol, disabling their Humvee and killing one of the puppet “Guards” and severely wounding three more of them.

Resistance bomb destroys US Humvee in ad-Durah.

In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ad-Durah as saying that the bomb, which had been planted on the main road in the al-Mahdiyah neighborhood blew up by a patrol of six US Humvees. The witnesses said that the blast completely destroyed one of the Humvees, killing or wounding the five American troops aboard it.

Diyala Province.

Ba‘qubah.

Three bombs rip through market in Ba‘qubah, leaving two civilians dead.

In a dispatch posted at 11:33am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that three bombs exploded in a market in Ba‘qubah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad on Saturday morning. The Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that two of the bombs apparently targeted puppet police patrols but exploded after the patrols had passed. The third bomb appeared to be targeting no particular military target. Witnesses reported that the three explosions killed two civilians and wounded nine more of them, three of those severely.

Babil Province.

Al-Mahmudiyah.

US forces surround al-Mahmudiyah, launch mass campaign of raids, searches, and arrests in the city.

In a bulletin posted at 9:57am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US Marines accompanied by the “Lion Brigade” of Iraqi puppet forces had surrounded the town of al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad, and imposed a curfew in the city. The al-Mahmudiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported from inside the city that the Americans had begun raiding homes of the al-Gharir tribe, which make up one district in the city, on the pretext that seven explosives-laden cars and 40 fighters from the Iraqi Resistance group al-Qa‘idah in the Land of the Two Rivers had entered the city.

The correspondent reported that as of that hour, no clashes had occurred and that huge number of US and Iraqi puppet troops were in the city under air cover from American helicopter gun ships. In a dispatch posted at 4:45pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the American campaign of mass raids, searches, and arrests was still underway and that more than 70 local people had been arrested so far. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that those arrested ranged in age from 15 to 60 years.

The correspondent also noted that the curfew was still in force in al-Mahmudiyah. The US occupation forces also seized four private cars and arrested their owners, claiming that they had been “stolen” from Shi‘ah owners who had been murdered. A commander of the Islamic Army Resistance group in al-Mahmudiyah told Mafkarat al-Islam that so far the Americans had not arrested any members of the Resistance in the city. He denied rumors that the US occupation troops had uncovered weapons caches and arrested Resistance men.

Ninwa Province.

Resistance sharpshooter reportedly kills US soldier in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 10:30am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the al-Islah az-Zira‘i neighborhood of the northern Iraqi city of al-Mawsil. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Islah az-Zira‘i neighborhood as saying that a US patrol was halted on a side street in the neighborhood when one of the Americans took a direct hit from a Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him instantly.

Wasit Province.

An-Nu‘maniyah.

Resistance ambush leaves seven Polish occupation troops dead or wounded in an-Nu‘maniyah.

In a dispatch posted at 5pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces carried out a complex attack on a routine patrol of Polish occupation troops in the middle of the town of an-Nu‘maniyah, about 120km southeast of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Resistance fighters commenced the attack by opening up on the Poles with PKS machine guns. They then detonated an explosive under the patrol, bringing killing or wounding at least seven of the occupation troops.

First Lieutenant Ahmad ‘Abbas al-QarahGhuli of the an-Nu‘maniyah puppet police confirmed that information, adding that the Resistance attackers also disabled a Polish military vehicle. The puppet lieutenant said that after the battle, puppet police, Polish occupation troops and American Military Police surrounded and sealed off the al-Barid Street area where the fighting took place and arrested several people as “suspects.” The attack was the first Resistance action targeting the Polish occupation troops for several months.
