US soldier reported killed by Resistance sharpshooter in al-Hadithah.
In a dispatch posted at 12:35pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the city of al-Hadithah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad. In a separate incident Resistance fighters struck the US military headquarters in the city with a mortar barrage.
The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the city as saying that a US patrol was operating near the al-Hadithah Secondary School for Boys when one of the Americans took a direct hit from a Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him instantly.
In a separate attack, Iraqi Resistance fighters fired four 60mm mortar rounds at the US military headquarters set up in the Barwanah Primary School. The shells scored direct hits on the American-occupied facility but no information on the nature or extent of casualties was known.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance mounts multi-layered attack on US forces in as-Saqlawiyah, reportedly killing 15 Americans.
In a dispatch posted at 5:05pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters carried out a complex attack on US forces in as-Saqlawiyah, about 15km northwest of al-Fallujah Sunday morning.
The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in as-Saqlawiyah as saying that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a mortar barrage at the military headquarters that the US forces recently set up in the Technical Institute in as-Saqlawiyah at 11:20am local time Sunday morning.
After the barrage a Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into the main gate of the American-occupied facility detonating his explosive cargo inside the base, inflicting heavy losses on the US troops.
The correspondent reported that 10 minutes after the first car bombing, a second Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-packed late-model Chevrolet into the soldiers who had gathered to tend to the victims of the first blast. The second blast inflicted still more casualties on the American troops. A spokesman for al-Qa‘idah reported that the attack killed 15 US soldiers.
After the attack, US troops surrounded the entire area preventing anyone from approaching and cutting all communications for local people with the outside world soas to prevent news of the attack leaking out.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops continued to evacuate bodies from the area of the attack for two hours afterwards.
Resistance fighters hurl hand grenades at US patrol in al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 10:50am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters hurled hand grenades at a US patrol in the ad-Dubbat neighborhood in eastern al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad. The attack took place before dawn Sunday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ad-Dubbat as saying that Resisistance fighters lobbed hand grenades at the Americans, disabling one Humvee. No information was available on the nature or extent of US casualties because the curfew was in force at the time.
Al-Khalidiyah.
Resistance bomb explodes by convoy taking supplies to US bases.
In a dispatch posted at 10:45am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a convoy hauling provisions to US bases on the highway near Jazirat al-Khalidiyah, about 80km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Jazirat al-Khalidiyah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road near the Japanese bridge went off, disabling one of the trucks and wounding its driver who was working for the Americans.

Report: SCIRI chief pressing Hizballah to free “Israeli” prisoners as moves towards splitting Iraq on sectarian, ethnic lines continue.
As western media reports have indicated the US is transferring 3,700 troops into Baghdad ostensibly to “preserve security” in the occupied Iraqi capital. The Iraqi Organization for Follow-up and Observation (“Mi‘mar”) has reported from Baghdad that the US has some specific reasons for fearing heightened threats to their control of the city in coming days.
According to information obtained by Mi‘mar, the reasons for boosting US troop strength in Baghdad focus on concern that the on-going Zionist-American aggression on Lebanon and Palestine, is further increasing Iraqis’ hostility to the American occupation forces.
In addition to such existing American “security concerns” Mi‘mar reports that ‘Abd al-‘Aziz al-Hakim, the chief of the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) is engaged in moves towards declaring a separate “southern region” of Iraq, further advancing the American plan to split Iraqi into three mini states along ethnic and sectarian lines.
As a service to SCIRI’s allies in Washington and Tel Aviv, ‘Abd al-‘Aziz al-Hakim has been interceding on their behalf with the Lebanese Resistance organization Hizballah. According to information obtained by Mi‘mar, al-Hakim and other pro-occupation Shi‘i religious authorities have sent a series of messages to Hizballah’s Deputy Chairman Na‘im Qasim, calling on Hizballah to release the Zionist prisoners it has captured.
Resistance fighters attack and kill two puppet “Interior Ministry” security service men.
In a dispatch posted at 1:15pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed two members of the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militias in the western Baghdad al-‘Amiriyah district.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Amiriyah as saying that Resistance fighters armed with machine guns attacked two puppet “Interior Ministry” security troops who were concurrently members of sectarian militias in al-‘Amiriyah on the road to al-Khadra’. The Resistance fighters killed the puppet troops, seized their weapons and withdrew from the area.
Resistance bomb blasts puppet police patrol in Baghdad’s al-Mansur district.
In a dispatch posted at 11:25am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet police patrol in the al-Mansur neighborhood of western Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Mansur as saying that the bomb, which exploded near the Abu Ja‘far al-Mansur intersection, destroyed a patrol vehicle, killing one Iraqi puppet policeman an wounding three more of them.
Resistance bomb targets US patrol in ad-Durah.
In a dispatch posted at 10:35am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol on the highway in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ad-Durah as saying that a bomb planted on the highway to Baghdad al-Jadidah went off by a passing US patrol, completely destroying a Humvee and killing or wounding the four American troops aboard it.

Resistance hits US air base with Grad rockets.
In a dispatch posted at 11:42am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired two medium-range Grad rockets into the US occupation headquarters in the al-Bakr Air Base some 70km north of Baghdad, a facility called Camp Anaconda by the Americans.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses from nearby Yathrib as saying that the base, one of the biggest in occupied Iraq, was hit by the two rockets, setting off explosions and sending plumes of smoke billowing into the sky.

Two US soldiers reported killed in Resistance bomb attack in Yathrib.
In a dispatch posted at 10:29am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol on the main road in the Yathrib area, about 70km north of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb destroyed one of the vehicles in the American patrol, killing two US troops who were aboard it and severely wounding two more of them.

Mysterious bomb blasts passenger bus between al-Hillah and al-Kut, killing three civilians.
In a dispatch posted at 12:45pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a mysterious bomb exploded by a bus carrying civilian passengers from al-Hillah, about 100km south of Baghdad, eastward to the city of al-Kut.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road blew up, completely destroying the bus and killing three civilians and wounding 35 more of them, some severely.

Resistance bomb targets US column in al-Yusufiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 10:50am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the main road near the Kilometer 37 area of al-Yusufiyah, about 30km southwest of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the ash-Shaykh ‘Abdallah area of al-Yusufiyah as saying that the bomb disabled one American Bradley armored vehicle, severely wounding four US troops who were inside.

Resistance attack destroys US Humvee near Syrian border Sunday morning.
In its Communique No. 43, dated 30 July 2006, and published on the patriotic albasrah.net website, the ‘Ammuriyah Operations Command of the General Command of the Mujahid Armed Forces of Iraq reported an attack carried out by one of its units on US troops near the village of ash-Sha‘lan in the area of Rabi‘ah near the Syrian border in northwestern Iraq.
The communiqu stated that a Resistance unit of the Iraqi Mujahid armed forces destroyed a US Humvee in an attack on the road near the northwestern border of Iraq with Syria at 9:30am, local time, Sunday.
Al-Mawsil.
Resistance car bomber kills four puppet policemen, including lieutenant colonel, in attack in al-Mawsil.
In a dispatch posted at 5:55pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a puppet police patrol in the Sumar neighborhood of central al-Mawsil in northern Iraq.
The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source in al-Hudaba’ General Hospital in the city as saying that the facility received the bodies of four puppet policemen, one of them a lieutenant colonel. One civilian was also slightly wounded in the explosion.
The puppet police command denied that all the members of the puppet police patrol had been killed in the attack, claiming that only one person died and four more were wounded. The hospital refuted those claims however, insisting that four puppet policemen were killed and one civilian slightly wounded.
Resistance bomb disables puppet “National Guard” pickup in al-Mawsil.
In a dispatch posted at 12:56pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of puppet “Iraqi National Guard” forces in the al-Intisar neighborhood of western al-Mawsil.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Intisar as saying that the bomb disabled a pickup belonging to the puppet “National Guard,” killing one member of the patrol and severely wounding two more of them.
Resistance group announces strike on US column midday Friday, 28 July.
In its Communique No. 43, dated 30 July 2006, and published on the patriotic albasrah.net website, the ‘Ammuriyah Operations Command of the General Command of the Mujahid Armed Forces of Iraq reported that a Resistance unit of the Iraqi Mujahid armed forces bombarded a column of US military vehicles on the al-Mawsil ﾐ Tall ‘Afar road near the village of al-Buwayr at 12:30 on Friday, 28 July 2006. A US Humvee was struck in that attack.
