Four US Marines reported dead in hour-long gun battle with Resistance fighters in al-Hadithah, midday Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 7:05pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting broke out between US occupation forces and Iraqi Resistance fighters in the ash-Shurtah neighborhood of central al-Hadithah, about 220km northwest of Baghdad at midday Friday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying during the fighting, which raged for about an hour, the Resistance fighters used medium machine guns and armor-piercing pipe rockets, destroying one Humvee and disabling a second. Residents said they saw the blood-covered corpses of four dead American Marines after the battle and that another seven Marines were wounded.

The correspondent reported the witnesses as saying that one of the Resistance fighters was also seriously wounded in the combat, but his comrades were able to drag him way from the area. After the battle, the Americans moved to lock down the whole city. Beginning at midday and until the time of reporting Friday evening, US troops had been searched dozens of houses of local residents, chemically checking the hands of young people to see whether they had shot firearms within the previous 24 hours.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance sharpshooter reportedly kills US soldier in al-Fallujah at noon Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 4pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier at the Old Cinema intersection of al-Fallujah at about 12 noon local time Friday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a witness as saying that the American soldier died instantly. Afterwards, the US troops deployed in the area, searching for the Resistance sharpshooter but found nothing.

Resistance landmine blasts American tank leaving two US troops reported dead in Hit late Friday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 3:44pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance landmine exploded under a US tank that was driving near the Hit fuel station at 11am local time Friday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the landmine killed two American soldiers and wounded four more of them. The casualties were taken by helicopter to the US-occupied ‘Ayn as-Saqr airbase nearby.Meanwhile, US occupation troops imposed a curfew on the area and carried out mass raids, searches, and arrests, rounding up 17 local residents and taking them away.

Resistance blasts US headquarters in Hit with heavy mortars.

In a dispatch posted at 2:20pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired five heavy 120mm mortar rounds into the US military camp in Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the industrial zone of Hit as saying that the local train station, which the Americans took over and turned into their headquarters about a year and a half ago, came under mortar attack early Friday morning. Light fire rose from th station and American helicopters were seen hovering in the skies around the area of the Industrial Zone searching for the Resistance attackers.

Ar-Ramadi.

US air raids kill seven civilians in ar-Ramadi midday Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 6:45pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US warplanes carried out three air raids on various parts of ar-Ramadi at midday Friday, killing seven local residents and wounding 20 more of them. The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the American fighter bombers struck areas in the city districts of as-Sufiyah, al-Jazirah, and at-Ta’mim, destroying six houses and killing seven local residents, including three children and their mother. More than 20 other local people were wounded in the air raids.

The correspondent noted that the air strikes came as a total surprise to the city’s residents since ar-Ramadi had been extremely quiet as there had been no clashes or fighting there on Friday. US artillery opens up on mosque in ar-Ramadi during Friday prayers, killing five worshippers, wounding 26. In a dispatch posted at 6pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US artillery struck he Mosque of Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir in ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad at midday Friday, as worshippers were gathered there for Friday congregational prayer services.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source as saying that the American artillery located near the railroad bombarded the mosque as the Imam was delivering his sermon. The American artillery attack killed five worshippers and wounded another 26 of them, among them children. As of the time of reporting, the Americans had issued no statement on the attack.

In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that American snipers shot and killed three local men who were going out early Friday morning to say the dawn prayers in mosques. The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that American soldiers perched atop high buildings shot the three men, one of them an elderly man aged 70 as they headed out to say the dawn prayers in the mosque.

The correspondent reported relatives of the murdered men as saying that they had not heard of the American order banning dawn prayer in the mosques, an order issued on Thursday. Witnesses said that not content with killing their victims in the predawn hours of Friday, the Americans mutilated the bodies by using them for target practice after killing them. Each body had at least 30 bullet holes in it, indicating that the Americans shot them dozens of times after they were already dead.

Baghdad.

Puppet regime bans motor traffic in Baghdad midday Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:15am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that as it has done for about two months now, the US-installed Shi ‘ sectarian puppet “Iraqi” regime had imposed a ban on motor traffic throughout all of Baghdad from 11am until 4pm local time in order to inhibit large-scale attendance at Friday congregational prayers. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the announcement had been issued by the American-installed Nuri al-Maliki regime and broadcast by the puppet regime’s al-‘Iraqiyah TV station.

Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen together with pro-American puppet regime “Shock Troops” attack, destroy Sunni mosque late Thursday night, murdering two wounded mosque defenders. In a dispatch posted at 11:30am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Shi ‘ sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia together with puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” attacked the Abu Bakr as-Siddiq Mosque in the al-‘Amil neighborhood of central Baghdad late on Thursday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the mosque guards resisted the attackers for half an hour but then they ran out of ammunition and the Shi ‘ sectarian gang and puppet “Shock Troop” soldiers stormed the Sunni mosque. They killed two of the guards who had been wounded while defending the house of worship. The sectarians shot both wounded men in the head, killing them. Then they robbed the mosque. Witnesses said that after looting the mosque, the Shi‘i sectarian militiamen and pro-American “Shock Troops” destroyed the building and left.

Resistance pounds US al-Ghazlaniyah base with heavy mortars.

In a bulletin posted at 3:50pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces were firing a mortar barrage at that moment into the US occupied al-Ghazlaniyah base in the northern Iraqi city of al-Mawsil. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents in al-Islah az-Zira‘i in the middle of al-Mawsil as saying that they could see clouds of smoke rising from the facility after the attack. The witnesses said that more than seven mortar shells had blasted into the base intermittently with les than half a minute between on shell and the next. Witnesses said that US helicopters were hovering over the base but no further details on the nature or extent of casualties or damage were available.
