US troops taunt Iraqis with Danish anti-Islamic cartoon on their armored vehicle.
In a dispatch posted at 8:10pm Makkah time Sunday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that eyewitnesses in the al-Muhammadi area near the city of Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad, reported seeing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad pasted on US military vehicles driving around their area on Sunday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported people in the al-Muhammadi area as saying that witnesses say a Humvee in a US column with a caricature posted on the armor-plated door of the vehicle. The picture was one of those published by a Danish newspaper several months ago, arousing indignation among Muslims throughout the world.
The witnesses said that the American soldiers were obviously making an effort to show off the picture to the people of al-Muhammadi, slowing the pace of their column as it drove along the broad street in town on their way to the old army camp in the al-‘Askari neighborhood of Hit.

Resistance strikes puppet police patrol in al-Fallujah Sunday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 6pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters equipped with light arms attacked a puppet police patrol in al-Fallujah at 8am local time.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eye witnesses as saying that Resistance fighters killed four puppet policemen, took their weapons, and set fire to their pickup at the al-Kamaliyat intersection.
Al-Khalidiyah.
Resistance bomb explodes north of al-Khalidiyah, wounding US troops.
In a dispatch posted at 2:02pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the main road north of Jazirat al-Khalidiyah, about 80km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the area as saying that the bomb, which had been planted near the Japanese Bridge north of al-Khalidiyah, destroyed an American Humvee, killing or wounding its crew of four US soldiers.

Iraqi President still on hunger strike after nine days.
In a dispatch posted at 11:59pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US occupation forces announced that Iraqi President Saddam Husayn was still on hunger strike, Sunday being the ninth day on which he has gone without food. The imprisoned Iraqi President is demanding better protection for his legal defense team, three of whom have been murdered since the American-staged show “trial” began in October 2005.
Reuters, as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam, reported a US spokesman as saying that despite not eating for over a week, the Iraqi President remained “in excellent health.” The only thing Saddam Husayn had consumed in the past week was sweetened coffee and other fluids since his last evening meal on 7 July.
Resistance bomb targets Iraqi puppet official coming out of the “Green Zone” Sunday evening.
In a dispatch posted at 7:30pm Makkah time Sunday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a motorcade carrying an Iraqi puppet official emerging from the American high-security headquarters zone, the so-called “Green Zone” - into the al-Karadah district
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the blast destroyed the second car in the six-car motorcade made up of four-wheel-drive vehicles. No information on the nature or extent of casualties was available.
Resistance forces assault puppet “Shock Troop” checkpoint in eastern Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 11:15am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troop (Maghawir)” checkpoint in the ash-Sha‘b section of eastern Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the district as saying that Resistance men armed with light and medium weapons assaulted the checkpoint, damaging a patrol vehicle and killing three puppet “Shock Troops” and wounding three more of them.

Resistance mortars pound two puppet “Shock Troop” headquarters in Samarra’.
In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of about six mortar rounds at the headquarters of the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir” in the al-Buhayrah hotel in southern Samarra’, about 120km north of Baghdad. Four more Resistance mortar shells blasted the “Shock Troop” headquarters in the middle of the city.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that those shells scored direct hits, sending moke billowing into the sky over the two headquarters.

Al-Latifiyah.
Resistance fighters attack US, sectarian militia targets in al-Latifiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 1:59pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol on the main road north of al-Latifiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Latifiyah as saying that a bomb that the bomb disabled a Humvee, wounding four American troops who were aboard it.
In another attack Resistance fighters attacked a civilian car carrying pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militiamen on the main road near the Muwaylihah area south of al-Latifiyah. Four sectarian militiamen died in the attack, after which the Resistance fighters withdrew from the scene without having suffered any losses.

Resistance bomb targets Brigadier General in puppet “National Guard.”
In a dispatch posted at 3:56pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by the motorcade of a high-ranking officer in the puppet “Iraqi National Guard” in the ar-Riyad area, some 25km southwest of Kirkuk in northern Iraq.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ar-Riyad as saying that the bomb went off under the convoy of Brigadier General Riyad ad-Danuk, of the puppet “National Guards” as it drove past on the way to Kirkuk. The blast disabled the car carrying the General severely wounding him and two of his companions.

Resistance fighters kill pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militiamen in al-Mawsil.
In a dispatch posted at 11:34am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters assassinated two members of the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militia known as the Shahid al-Mihrab Organization, commanded by ‘Ammar al-Hakim, the son of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) ‘Abd al-‘Aziz al-Hakim.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Jaza’ir area of al-Mawsil as saying that Resistance fighters attacked and killed two of the sectarian militiamen. The Resistance fighters then withdrew from the scene without having suffered any casualties.
US soldier reported killed in mortar barrage on American patrol in al-Mawsil.
In a dispatch posted at 11am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance barrage struck a US patrol in al-Mawsil’s southern al-Yarmuk neighborhood.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Mawsil reported eyewitnesses in al-Yarmuk as saying that Resistance fighters mounted a mortar attack on an American patrol on the main street near the al-Yarmuk exchange. The barrage destroyed an American Bradley armored vehicle, killing one US soldier and wounding three more of them.

British soldier killed in Resistance attack Saturday night in al-Basrah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:02am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a British military patrol on the main road near the entrance to the al-Karmah area of northern al-Basrah.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Karmah as saying that Resistance fighters equipped with light arms ambushed the British patrol late on Saturday night. The attack damaged one patrol vehicle and severely wounded two British troops.
Later, in a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the British army had admitted that one of its soldiers was killed and another wounded in an armed attack on a British patrol in al-Basrah. A British spokesman said that two British troops were wounded in the Saturday evening engagement and were taken to hospital where one of them later died of his wounds.
