Resistance fighters ambush US column in ar-Ramadi Friday morning, reportedly killing five Marines.

In a dispatch posted at 7:35pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades attacked a US column in the al-Bu Farraj area of ar-Ramadi on Friday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that Resistance fighters attacked a US column on the road to al-Bu Farraj in ar-Ramadi at 10am local time Friday morning. The source said that the Resistance fighters destroyed a US Humvee with the RPG7, killing five Americans who were aboard it. US Marines responded to the attackers, claiming to have killed three of them and seized three rocket launchers that they had with them. The Americans said that they then dragged the bodies of the fighters back to their camp in ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four mortar rounds at the facility formerly used by the Iraqi Army as a technical training center before the US invasion ﾐ now turned into a US headquarters located to the west of al-Fallujah. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the village of al-Bu Mar‘i, located near the facility, as saying that the barrage, which took place at 1pm midday Friday set a fire burning in the American headquarters that could be seen by people in the village. US helicopters then flew in over the area.

Resistance bomb reportedly kills US soldier in western al-Fallujah early Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:20pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military vehicle in the al-Andalus district of western al-Fallujah, also known as the “area between the bridges.” The blast occurred at 7am local time witnesses said. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the explosion disabled the vehicle and killed one American soldier who was standing atop it at the time. Three other US troops were killed in the blast. After the attack, American troops sealed off the area for an hour and a half, during which time they evacuated the body of the dead soldier and the wounded men. All were taken by military vehicles to the city of al-Habbaniyah, 69km west of Baghdad were the Americans have set up a major military hospital.

Baghdad.

Sectarian bomb at Sunni mosque in Baghdad leaves eight dead.

In a bulletin posted at 2:18pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a bomb planted at the door of the Sunni Isma‘il al-Kubaysi Mosque near the as-Salikh neighborhood in Baghdad exploded, killing eight people and wounding five more, by preliminary count. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that children and elderly men were among the casualties. All the injured were taken to an-Nu‘man Hospital and al-Yarmuk Hospital for treatment. Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported that the bomb exploded as worshippers were leaving the mosque, located in Baghdad’s al-Qahirah district.

Vehicle curfew imposed for fourth straight week at Friday prayer times.

In a dispatch posted at 12:40pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US-installed Iraqi puppet government had, for the fourth week in a row, issued a decree imposing vehicle curfew in Baghdad on Friday. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the curfew was to last from 11am until 4pm Friday, inhibiting people from going to mosques for Friday congregational prayers.

Pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militias bombard mosque in Baghdad’s al-Ghazaliyah district, killing five neighborhood residents.

In a dispatch posted at 10:45am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militias unleashed a mortar barrage on the Sunni Mosque of al-Birr ar-Rahim in the Baghdad district of al-Ghazaliyah, killing five and wounding four local people. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Ghazaliyah as saying that nine heavy 120mm mortar rounds blasted into the area of the mosque, the largest in the district, on Thursday night. The witnesses said that the barrage inflicted heavy damage and deaths and injuries among residents of houses adjacent to the mosque.

Resistance mortars blast US base in al-Mahmudiyah scoring direct hits on basis of inside information.

In a dispatch posted at 8:11pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired seven mortar rounds at the US base in al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad at dawn on Friday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi Resistance Islamic Army organization as saying that the barrage targeted the US camp set up in a former meat packing company. The source said that the mortar shells scored direct his on their assigned targets, as a result of the fact that Resistance fighters were able to get precise information from inside the base.

Al-Hillah.

US troops in al-Hillah kill four of their Badr Brigade allies by mistake.

In a dispatch posted at 8:13pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops on patrol in the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood of the city of al-Hillah, about 100km south of Baghdad, spotted a group of armed men and opened fire on them, killing four of them. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the local puppet police as saying that after the shooting, it was discovered that the four men were actually not Resistance fighters, but members of the pro-American Badr Brigade militia who make up the back bone of the US-run security forces in occupied Iraq.

Kirkuk.

Resistance fighters mow down puppet army troops at checkpoint south of Kirkuk.

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a checkpoint manned by Iraqi puppet army forces 25km south of Kirkuk in northern Iraq. A source in the puppet Iraq army told al-Jazeera satellite TV that Resistance fighters rode into the area in three cars and attacked the check point, killing 13 puppet troops. Seven other persons were reported killed in the attack. After carrying out the raid, which left the officers in charge of the checkpoint dead, the Resistance fighters left the scene.

Ninwa Province.

Al-Mawsil.

Resistance car bomb blasts Iraqi puppet army patrol in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 9:14pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a patrol of Iraqi puppet soldiers in the al-Muthanna neighborhood of the northern city of al-Mawsil. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a curfew was in force at the time so no information on the nature or extent of casualties was available.

Tall ‘Afar.

Twenty-three bodies found in mass grave in Tall ‘Afar. Dating from time of US assault on the city, they disprove American claims to have killed only four civilians in the battle. US military arrive on scene of exhumation, order local people to disperse.

In a dispatch posted at 8:05pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a mass grave was discovered on Friday afternoon in the city of Tall ‘Afar. The bodies in the grave were buried at the time of the last Battle of Tall ‘Afar. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a large number of bodies have been recovered from the grave, on whom were identification papers indicating that they were Sunni. Many of the dead were women and children and they had been shot by the US occupation troops, the correspondent reported.

At the time of the Battle of Tall ‘Afar, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops had committed massacres in the city, but American forces denied Mafkarat al-Islam’s reports and claimed that in all only four civilians had been killed in the course of the fighting. Among the bodies in the mass grave are also the remains of Resistance fighters. A medical source in the city told Mafkarat al-Islam that most of those bodies showed signs of being killed by some sorts of chemical or phosphorous bombs. In a dispatch posted at 9:01pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that local people had recovered as of that hour 23 bodies from the mass grave discovered on Friday. The exhumations were still underway, however. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US military forces showed up in the area and demanded that local people disperse, claiming that medical specialists would have to take over the recovery effort.

Bodies of 12 puppet security men found west of al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 8:18pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet police forces had found the bodies of 12 members of the puppet “Order Protection” forces on the road linking Tall ‘Afar with al-Mawsil to the east. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source as saying that the bodies, found in the al-Mafraq area, were still dressed in their uniforms. The four officers in the group had been beheaded.

Resistance rockets blast US-occupied base in Wasit Province.

In a dispatch posted at 5pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance fired nine Katyusha rockets into the US-occupied Abu ‘Ubaydah al-Jarrah airbase in Wasit Province southeast of Baghdad. The attack took place around midnight Thursday-Friday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses in the village of az-Zawiyah as saying that they saw fire and smoke inside the base, followed 10 minutes later by powerful explosions that rocked the whole area.
