US admits Apache helicopter down southwest of Baghdad midday Thursday.

A US helicopter crashed around midday Thursday southwest of Baghdad, US military forces admitted in a communiqu published Thursday afternoon. In a dispatch posted at 4:39pm Mecca time (1:39pm GMT) al-Jazeera satellite TV reported an American military communiqu as saying that an American Apache helicopter crashed as it hovered over areas to the southwest of occupied Baghdad in an area described as “a theater for many armed operations.” Al-Jazeera reported that the American statement failed to explain why the helicopter crashed but claimed that the crew were “safe” and had been taken to a US military medical facility.

Resistance fighters kill captain in puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry” along with pro American Badr Brigade gunmen, puppet police in ambush in ad-Durah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:14am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed five puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry” and pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade gunmen in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ad-Durah as saying that Resistance fighters prepared an ambush for the car carrying the pro-American gunmen and an captain in the puppet “Interior Ministry” forces as well as four puppet policemen on the way to the city of Karbala’ in southern Iraq. The Resistance fighters intercepted their car successfully and killed them before withdrawing from the scene.

Resistance sharpshooter kills Iraqi puppet “National Guard” soldier in western Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 11:05am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” soldier in the al-Jami‘ah neighborhood of western Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Jami‘ah as saying that a puppet “National Guard soldier was among the troops manning a check point when he took a direct hit from a Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet killing him instantly.

Resistance fighters attack Iraqi puppet army checkpoint southwest of Kirkuk.

In a dispatch posted at 4:38pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters assaulted a check point manne by Iraqi puppet forces on the main road between ar-Riyad and al-Hawijah both southwest of Kirkuk in northern Iraq. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-‘Abbasi area of southern al-Hawijah as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the check point at the entrance to their area, killing three Iraqi puppet army troops and wounding four more of them.

Pro-American Shi‘i sectarian gunmen murder nine Sunnis in Kirkuk.

In a dispatch posted at 4:32pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that pro-American Shi‘i sectarian gunmen set up a false checkpoint on the road to the Tazah area to the south of Kirkuk. There, local eyewitnesses reported, the gunmen abducted nine local Sunni residents of Kirkuk. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the nine men were later shot to death and their bodies dumped in egg crates in the middle of the road. Local residents took the bodies to Kirkuk General Hospital.

Resistance bomb blasts joint patrol of puppet police, Kurdish separatist Peshmergah.

In a dispatch posted at 1:30pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a joint patrol of Iraqi puppet police and pro-American Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militiamen in the ‘Arafah neighborhood of western Kirkuk. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ‘Arafah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in the neighborhood blew up by the joint patrol, disabling a patrol vehicle and wounding four of the men on patrol and four others.

Resistance bomb blasts US patrol in southwestern al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 11:13am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol on the main road in southwestern al-Mawsil’s al-Yarmuk area. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Yarmuk as saying that a bomb that had been planted in the neighborhood went of by a passing American patrol, disabling one Humvee. No information on US casualties was available because US forces and their Iraqi puppet allies rushed to seal off the area.

Resistance mortars bombard puppet police academy in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 11:11am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired six 82mm mortar rounds at the Iraqi Police Academy building in eastern al-Mawsil. The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that their academy building in northeastern al-Mawsil had been the target of a mortar barrage. The source said that all the six shells had landed inside the facility inflicting damage to the building and vehicles there. He did not provide information on casualties.

Resistance bomb kills puppet “Iraqi National Guard” in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 11:09am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” patrol in the al-Faysaliyah district of western al-Mawsil in northern Iraq. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Faysaliyah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the Sannaharib Bridge Road blew up as a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” patrol was driving down it. The blast destroyed one patrol vehicle, killing one Iraqi soldier and wounding four more of them, one of those a captain.
