Resistance mortars pound joint US-Iraqi puppet army camp in Hit.

In a dispatch posted at 3:10pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired seven 82mm mortar rounds into the headquarters jointly occupied by US and Iraqi puppet forces in what formerly was the Technical Institute in the northern part of Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Hit as saying that the jointly occupied facility took direct hits from the mortar shells, sending plumes of smoke billowing into the sky.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance car bomber blasts into US encampment in ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 3pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US military camp in the al-Mal‘ab area of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad. The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that a Resistance fighter in a BMW car blasted into one of the US encampments in a house stolen from local people in the al-Mal‘ab area. The blast destroyed the front parts of the camp and set two Humvees ablace, killing or wounding at least 12 US soldiers who were inside the vehicles. After the blast, US forces quickly sealed off the area, making it impossible for the correspondent to ascertain the precise nature or number of casualties.

In a bulletin posted at 2:10pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while ago, US occupation forces began to bulldoze date palm groves and citrus groves in the al-Hawz area along the banks of the Euphrates River in ar-Ramadi, the capital of al-Anbar Province, about 110km west of Baghdad. The American troops have also begun seizing the homes of the local people in area of those groves, turning them into billets for themselves. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the operation began when American troops began throwing the local residents out of their homes and into the streets with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The correspondent added that after evicting the residents, the American occupation forces brought in bulldozers and other equipment that ripped up the date palms, citrus plants and all other crops planted in the area. At the time of reporting, the Americans were still engaged in uprooting the trees and bushes and destroying the agricultural area.

Al-Hadithah.

US soldier reported killed by Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter in al-Hadithah.

In a dispatch posted at 1:15pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the city of al-Hadithah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad. The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that a US patrol was on the main road leading to the water treatment plant in al-Hadithah when one of the soldiers took a direct hit from a Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him instantly.

Resistance car bomb blasts Iraqi puppet army chceckpoint in western Baghdad’s al-‘Amiriyah district.

In a dispatch posted at 4:25pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a checkpoint manned by Iraqi puppet army troops in the al-‘Amiriyah section of western Baghdad. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a gun battle erupted after the explosion as Resistance fighters opened fire on the Iraqi puppet troops who survived the blast. Witnesses said that the bomb went off by the last checkpoint on al-‘Amal ash-Sha‘bi Street near the al-Jihad neighborhood bridge.

Bomb explodes by restaurant frequented by puppet police in Baghdad al-Jadidah.

In a dispatch posted at 3pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a bomb exploded by the entrance to a popular restaurant in the Baghdad al-Jadidah section of the occupied Iraqi capital. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Baghdad al-Jadidah as saying that a bomb that was planted by the side of the main road in front of a restaurant where Iraqi puppet policemen frequently get fast foot blew up, killing 10 persons and wounding 26 others. Witnesses said that a number of Iraqi puppet policemen were among the dead and wounded.

Car bomb explodes near puppet “Iraqi Finance Ministry” in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 12:05pm Makkah time midday Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a car bomb exploded near the offices of the puppet “Iraqi Finance Ministry” in eastern Baghdad, killing three persons and wounding five more. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that an explosives-packed car that had been parked near the puppet “Finance Ministry” by the entrance to the highway in eastern Baghdad blew up, killing thre persons, one of them a bank guard, and wounding five more. Serious damage was also done to cars passing the area.

Resistance fighters ambush car carrying Shi‘i sectarian militiamen and kill them.

In a dispatch posted at 11am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a car carrying a number of members of pro-Ameican Shi‘i sectarian militias in the al-Ghazaliyah area of western Baghdad and killed four of them. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Ghazaliyah as saying that Resistance fighters ambushed a civilian Mark car carrying four members of a Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen, and killed them. The witnesses said that the Resistance fighters then withdrew quickly from the area.

Al-Miqdadiyah.

Resistance fighters in al-Miqdadiyah capture 26 Shi‘i sectarian militiamen.

In a dispatch posted at 11:45am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters captured 26 members of Shi‘i sectarian militias in the city of al-Miqdadiyah, about 85km northeast of Baghdad. The Diyala Province correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Miqdadiyah as saying that Resistance fighters armed with machine guns surrounded the the sectarian militiamen in a car park, captured them all and led them away to an unknown destination.

Kirkuk.

Resistance fighters ambush Iraqi puppet “National Guard” column, killing nine puppet “Guards” southwest of Kirkuk.

In a dispatch posted at 10:05am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked an Iraqi puppet army column in the as-Salman area of southwestern Kirkuk on the main road to the city of al-Hawijah, southwest of Kirkuk in northern Iraq. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in as-Salman as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons and pipe rockets ambushed a column of Iraqi puppet “National Guard” troops that were on their way to conduct raids and searches in al-Hawijah. The witnesses said that two troop transport vehicles were destroyed and nine Iraqi puppet “National Guard” soldiers killed in the attack. Another seven puppet “Guards” were wounded, three of them officers. One of the Resistance fighters was killed in the attack and another wounded but the fighters were able to withdraw from the area following the battle.

Resistance barrage knocks puppet government radio and TV station in al-Mawsil off the air.

In a dispatch posted at 9:05pm Makkah time Wednesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment Iraqi Resistance forces had been blasting the radio and television station of the puppet “Iraqi Government” in the northern city of al-Mawsil with a mortar barrage for fifteen minutes. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that more than 13 mortar rounds had landed inside the radio and television complex. Eyewitnesses said that helicopters and US occupation military vehicles were racing to the complex to which fire trucks and ambulances were also en route. The correspondent confirmed that the puppet regime’s broadcasts from the station were completely knocked off the air when the first shells struck. The correspondent noted that the US occupation authorities and their puppet regime fund the radio and television system, which broadcasts pro-American propaganda including programs that urge the audience to turn in Resistance fighters to the occupation authorities.

Correction:

In the Iraqi Resistance Report for Monday, 10 July 2006, the headline to one story from al-Fallujah was typed incorrectly. The headline that read “Resistance mounts attacks on ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah, killing six civilians” should have read “US mounts attacks on ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah, killing six civilians.” The Iraqi Resistance Report apologizes for the unintentional error.
