In a dispatch posted at 9:17am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired five 82mm mortar rounds at a headquarters jointly occupied by US and Iraqi puppet army forces in al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Fallujah as saying that the shells scored direct hits on the headquarters, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

Resistance sharpshooter kills US soldier in ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 9:04am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the al-Bu Jabir area of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of he al-Mal‘ab district of ar-Ramadi as saying that a US soldier who was on guard duty atop a house that the Americans had commandeered from local people in the al-Bu Jabir neighborhood took a direct hit from a Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet killing him. He was seen falling convulsively from the roof of the house.

Bomb targets mosque seized by Shi‘i sectarians from Sunnis in Baghdad’s al-Jihad neighborhood Saturday evening.
In a dispatch posted at 9:11am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a car bomb exploded by the Shi‘i az-Zahra’ Mosque in the al-Jihad neighborhood of western Baghdad on Saturday evening. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Jihad as saying that an explosives-laden car that had been parked by the side of a side street near the Shi‘i place of worship blew up, killing 11 Shi‘i visitors to the mosque and wounding 14 more of them. The mosque currently known as the Shi‘i Mosque of az-Zahra’ was originally a Sunni place of worship under the name of the Mosque of al-‘Asharah al-Mubashshireen bil-Jannah. But some time after the US occupation of Baghdad, Shi‘i sectarian militias seized control of the mosque by force and turned it into a Shi‘i place of worship and a headquarters for Shi‘i sectarian militias. The takeover reportedly followed a legal decision by Shi‘i cleric Ayatallah ‘Ali as-Sistani justifying the seizure by Shi‘ah of Sunni mosques.

In a dispatch posted at 12:03pm Makkah time midday Sunday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade militias mounted an attack at the al-Fadl area in central Baghdad, a predominantly Sunni area, under the leadership of Jalal as-Saghir, the sectarian Imam of the Buratha Mosque which is reputedly a center for torture and murder of Sunni Iraqis. The attack began at dawn Sunday and followed a mysterious bombing of a Shi‘i mosque in the al-Jihad district of western Baghdad Saturday evening. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that as-Saghir was cruising around in his car carrying a machine gun in the company of Shi‘i sectarian militiamen as the attack on al-Fadl was underway. The correspondent reported that extremely fierce fighting between the sectarian militias and local residents was underway at the time of reporting and that the defenders of the al-Fadl area had inflicted casualties in men and materiel on the attacking sectarians.
Thirty-three Sunnis reportedly pulled from homes and shot in streets in al-Jihad. . .
In a dispatch posted at 12:10pm Makkah time midday Sunday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Shi‘i sectarian militiamen had driven 33 Sunnis out of their homes and shot them to death in the middle of the street in Baghdad’s al-Jihad neighborhood. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported from the scene of the massacre that a battle was underway at that time between Shi‘i sectarian militias and the Sunni ‘Umar Brigade in the al-Jihad neighborhood.
US troops join Shi‘i sectarian gunmen in assault on Baghdad’s al-Jihad district. . .
In a dispatch posted at 12:33pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters and local residents were still defending the al-Jihad district of western Baghdad against an attack being mounted by US occupation soldiers, Shi‘i sectarian militias, and puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir).”
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the fighting was raging at that moment in the al-Atibba’ area opposite the former National Security College (now used by the puppet “Shock Troops” as a local headquarters) and in the as-Samjah and market areas of al-Jihad. Resistance fighters called on local residents to go up on their rooftops to aid the Resistance men in defending their neighborhoods against the “barbaric Crusader-Shi‘i sectarian” aggression.
The correspondent reported that hundreds of Resistance fighters and local volunteers were at that moment engaged in combat against the attacking US-Shi‘i sectarian enemy, while another group of Resistance men and volunteers were heading off to the al-Fadl district to give support to defenders of that area. For its part the Sunni jurisconsult authorities had ordered all Sunni mosques closed temporarily until the Shi‘i sectarian attacks, backed by US troops, had passed.
Pro-American Shi‘i sectarians reportedly kill 18 in Baghdad’s al-Qadisiyah complex. . .
In a dispatch posted at 12:13pm Makkah time midday Sunday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade militiamen had attacked the al-Qadisiyah complex near al-Yarmuk, a predominantly Sunni area, and killed 18 local people before fleeing the area.
Casualties among women and children reported in al-Fadl as fighting escalates. . .
In a dispatch posted at 12:56pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the violent fighting that had broken out at dawn and was still raging in the al-Fadl district at that hour. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Fadl as saying that the battle erupted when Shi‘i sectarian militias, all armed with light and medium weapons, attacked al-Fadl at dawn Sunday. Later the militias were joined by puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir).”
The witnesses reported that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons and pipe rockets were defending al-Fadl and that at that hour the intensity of the fighting was escalating, particularly after puppet government forces intervened to aid the Shi‘i sectarian militias. Local residents reported that there had been civilian casualties as a result of the Shi ‘ sectarian attack on the district, with women children and other civilians wounded and possibly killed. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent was unable at that time to ascertain the number or nature of those casualties because of the intensity of the battle and because puppet regime forces had cut off and surrounded the entire area.
Resistance captures six Shi‘i sectarian gunmen; swarms of US helicopters prowl area in support of Shi‘i sectarians. . .
In a dispatch posted at 1:24pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, Iraqi Resistance fighters had taken six Shi‘i sectarian militia gunmen prisoner in the al-Jihad district of western Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi Resistance as saying that a number of Shi‘i sectarian gunmen had also been killed in the battle sparked when the sectarians attacked the predominantly Sunni al-Jihad area at dawn. US occupation troops blocked volunteers from other parts of Baghdad from entering al-Jihad to come to the aid of the defenders of that district. Swarms of American helicopters took off to prowl the skies at low altitude hunting for armed defenders to shoot.
Resistance blasts Shi‘i sectarian mosque stronghold to the ground, attacks headquarters of puppet “Shock Troops” in al-Jihad neighborhood. . .
In a dispatch posted at 1:57pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance fighters in the al-Jihad neighborhood had flattened the Shi‘i-occupied Mosque of az-Zahra’, in which Shi‘i sectarian gunmen were entrenched. The mosque, forcibly seized some time ago from the local Sunnis by Shi‘i gunmen, was the target of a car bomb attack on Saturday night. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam, who had managed to get into the heart of the al-Jihad neighborhood where intense fighting was under way, reported that Resistance men blasted the mosque with rocket-propelled grenades and Katyusha rockets from every side, killing the Shi‘i sectarian gunmen holed up inside. Resistance fighters launched a similar attack on the former National Security College, which is now a headquarters of the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” but no information was initially available on the nature or extent of puppet “Shock Troop” casualties there.
US-backed Shi‘i sectarian gunmen attack northwestern Baghdad’s al-Ghazaliyah district, indiscriminately shooting civilians in the streets . . .
In a dispatch posted at 2:50pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, Shi‘i sectarian militias accompanied by puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” launched an assault on the northwestern Baghdad district of al-Ghazaliyah, a predominantly Sunni area. A Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the attacking sectarians opened fire indiscriminately on local residents, killing nine local people, including three children and a woman. Meanwhile another force of Shi‘i sectarian militiamen, estimated at about 30 gunmen, were at the time of reporting engaged in combat with the guards of the Sunni Kamal al-Hadithi Mosque, attempting to storm into the place of worship and set fire to it. Eyewitnesses said that the mosque guards were fighting back ferociously.
Fifty-seven Sunnis reported killed in US-backed Shi‘i sectarian rampage. . .
In a dispatch posted at 3:10pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Shaykh Ahmad Kamal, a member of the so-called “Iraqi Islamic Party” ミ an organization that works with the US occupation forces in Iraq ミ had announced that 57 Sunnis had been murdered by Shi‘i sectarians in the al-Jihad district, among them religious men, government employees, women, and children. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Shaykh Ahmad Kamal as saying that some of the bodies were still lying in the streets at that moment. In a bulletin posted at 3:55pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported from western Baghdad’s al-Jihad district that Shi‘i sectarian gunmen had begun to retreat towards the al-Furat neighborhood after suffering a number of dead and wounded in their assault on the predominantly Sunni district. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment, Iraqi Resistance fighters were taking control of the areas that Shi‘i sectarian militiamen had been holding since Sunday morning.
Muqtada as-Sadr condemns Shi‘i sectarian rampage, pledges to “bring to justice” those responsible, even if they were members of his Jaysh al-Mahdi militia. . .
Although militiamen belonging to the loosely-organized Jaysh al-Mahdi militia were widely reported taking part in the Shi‘i sectarian rampages, the head of the Jaysh al-Mahdi, Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr was quoted by the American Associated Press (AP) as condemning the attacks on Sunni civilians. The AP quoted Muqtada as-Sadr as pledging “to bring to justice” those guilty of carrying out the attacks, even if they were part of his Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.
US forces swarm into al-Jihad after their Shi‘i sectarian allies retreat. Americans impose curfew on neighborhood that was target of a Shi‘i sectarian rampage. . .
In a dispatch posted at 5:55pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, US occupation troops had declared a curfew in the al-Jihad neighborhood, specifically threatening that they would shoot anyone caught outside his house in the neighborhood, where Resistance fighters and local men had just defeated a day-long bloody assault by Shi‘i sectarian gunmen. A Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces had entered al-Jihad and imposed a curfew there following the route of the Shi‘i sectarians. After the sectarians retreated, Iraqi Resistance men disappeared individually from the streets as the heavily-armed Americans swarmed in. Meanwhile, the correspondent reported, ten ambulances were working to evacuate the bodies of the dead and the wounded ミ including women, children, young and elderly persons ミ to the hospital after they had lain for hours in the streets of the district.
Official report: 14 pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade gunmen killed in day-long rampage. . .
In a dispatch posted at 6pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that official reports indicated that 14 Shi‘i sectarian militiamen had been killed in their day-long rampage on Sunni districts in occupied Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a lieutenant in the puppet police in al-Jihad district ミ whose forces were at the time of reporting aiding US troops in enforcing a shoot-to-kill curfew in the area ミ as saying that 14 members of the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades had been killed. He said that there were other reports that more than 20 men supposedly belonging to the Jaysh al-Mahdi had also been killed and that a large number of Shi‘i sectarian gunmen had been killed. Resistance fighters told Mafkarat al-Islam that the real number of Shi‘i sectarians killed in the fighting was over twice that figure.
Car bomb explodes by Jaysh al-Mahdi headquarters in “Madinat al-Sadr” area of Baghdad late Sunday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 6:20pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a car bomb exploded by the headquarters of the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in the Madinat ath-Thawrah section of Baghdad, nicknamed “Madinat as-Sadr” since the US occupation. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the car bomb, which had been parked by the side of the road, left a large number of dead and wounded in the area near the Jaysh al-Mahdi headquarters.
Two more car bombs explode by Jaysh al-Mahdi headquarters in “Madinat as-Sadr.”
In a dispatch posted at 7:25pm Makkah time Sunday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two car bombs exploded at the same time by a Jaysh al-Mahdi headquarters in the al-Kasrah section of Madinat ath-Thawrah in Baghdad ミ a section of the city nicknamed “Madinat as-Sadr” following the US invasion. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two explosives-laden cars blew up by the at-Tamimi Shi‘i mosque that also served as headquarters of the Jaysh al-Mahdi. A large number of dead and wounded in the ranks of the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia was reported. Also among the casualties were worshippers in the mosque. The two blasts followed an earlier explosion, less than 25 minutes before, all of which shook the same predominantly Shi‘i section of the US-occupied city.
Shi‘i sections of Baghdad batten down late Sunday afternoon in preparation for Sunni revenge attacks for Shi‘i sectarian rampage.
In a dispatch posted at 6:45pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam correspondents in Shi‘i areas of al-Karakh and ar-Rusafah reported that the Shi ‘ areas had begun to close down and secure their streets for fear that Sunnis would respond with sectarian violence to the Shi‘i sectarian rampage that was carried out in much of Baghdad during the day on Sunday. Some 57 Sunnis were massacred in the course of the American-backed Shi‘i sectarian militia attacks on predominantly Sunni parts of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that barricades, palm tree trunks, stones, burning tires, and barbed wire were being laid across streets, alleys, and bridges in Shi‘i areas of Baghdad.

Mysterious car bomb kills Iraqi nuclear scientist in al-Iskandariyah.
A prominent Iraqi nuclear scientist Majid Jasim Mahmud al-Jannabi was killed when a bomb exploded in the al-Iskandariyah area, about 50km south of Baghdad. Quds Press reported that the deadly bomb was detonated by remote control as Dr. al-Janabi was returning home. Iraqi puppet police have opened an investigation into the incident. In addition to being one of Iraq’s nuclear scientists, Dr. al-Janabi also taught at the Technology University in Baghdad. About 200 Iraqi scientists have been murdered since the US invaded and occupied Iraq in the spring of 2003. The Zionist Mossad has frequently been blamed for trying to take advantage of the US occupation to wipe out Iraq’s advanced scientific minds.

Resistance bomb targets puppet “National Guards” southwest of Kirkuk.
In a dispatch posted at 9:28am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of puppet “Iraqi National Guard” troops on the al-‘Abbasiyah ミ al-Hawijah road southwest of Kirkuk in northern Iraq. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-‘Abbasiyah as saying that the bomb destroyed one patrol vehicle, killing two puppet “National Guards” and wounding two more of them, one of those being the officer in charge of the patrol.

Resistance bomb targets puppet police in al-Mawsil.
In a dispatch posted at 9:23am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet police parol in the al-Muthanna district of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Muthanna as saying that the bomb disabled a patrol vehicle, killing one puppet policeman and wounding two more of them.
