Al-Anbar Province.

Al-Habbaniyah.

Massive fire rages at US al-Habbaniyah base.

In a dispatch posted at 9pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment fire was raging in the main US military base at al-Habbaniyah, about 70km west of Baghdad. The al-Habbaniyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US military helicopters were taking part in efforts to extinguish the fire that had spread to the entire length of the side of the base facing the village of al-Bu Mar‘i. The correspondent wrote that the Americans had set their warning sirens on inside the base, which is a landing strip for US fighter aircraft that operate in al-Anbar Province. Al-Habbaniyah is also home to a major American military hospital.

Ar-Rutbah.

US forces ban Friday prayers in all mosques in ar-Rutbah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:55am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces prohibited all mosques in the town of ar-Rutbah near the border with Jordan from holding Friday congregational prayer services. American military vehicles took up positions blocking entrances to mosques throughout the town. The ar-Rutbah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Americans declared a curfew beginning at 11am Friday morning, prohibiting the Friday prayers ﾐ held just after midday ﾐ for what they claimed were “security reasons.” The American forces threatened local people that they would be killed or arrested if they came out in violation of the ban.

Local witnesses said that American troops arrested Shaykh Ahmad al-Kubaysi, the Imam of the al-Kubaysat mosque in the middle of ar-Rutbah, in a campaign of raids they carried out in the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood. Nineteen other local people were also arrested in those raids. The correspondent reports that the situation in the city remains grim, as people are compelled to drink untreated water straight from the river, and disease has already begun to spread among many of the locals, particularly the children. Electricity and all forms of communication have been cut off and the only hospital in the city has been closed by the US occupation forces who have imposed a siege on the town for several days.

Baghdad.

Resistance bombards headquarters of Shi‘i sectarian militias in ash-Shu‘lah.

In a dispatch posted at 7:59pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters fired a mortar barrage at the headquarters of the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades and the Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militias in the ash-Shu‘lah area of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance fired seven mortar rounds at the two sectarian headquarters. The correspondent was unable to report on the nature or extent of casualties because, he said, Sunni religious leaders had warned against Sunnis going to the ash-Shu‘lah area where Shi‘i sectarians are likely to abduct and murder any Sunni who shows up there.

Prominent Sunni Imam abducted by pro-US Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade.

In a dispatch posted at 2:27pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade gunmen kidnapped Shaykh Mustafa al-Baghdadi, the Imam of the Ibn Taymiyah Mosque in the middle of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Badr Brigade sectarian militiamen abducted the Sunni Shaykh in full view of puppet Iraqi army forces. Since a curfew was in force at the time, no further information on the details of the abduction or the fate of the Shaykh were available and the correspondent was unable to get to the Ibn Taymiyah Mosque to follow developments there at first hand.

Mysterious bomb blasts Sunni mosque in Baghdad’s al-Jihad neighborhood.

In a dispatch posted at 2:21pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a bomb had exploded a short while earlier by the ‘Abd al-Jabbar Shanshal Mosque in Baghdad’s al-Jihad neighborhood, killing and wounding a number of worshippers including women and children. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an explosives-laden car that had been parked near the Sunni place of worship was detonated by remote control as worshippers were coming out of the mosque following Friday congregational prayers.

Bodies of 51 tortured, murdered Sunnis found in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 12:35pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a medical source in the Health Department in the al-Karakh district of Baghdad has disclosed that 56 bodies were found Thursday and Friday morning in various parts of Baghdad, of which 51 belong to Sunnis. The remaining five were bodies of puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” who had been killed.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a Health Department doctor in the Central Statistical Department for Health in Baghdad as saying that the five bodies of puppet “Shock Troops” were found in the predominantly Sunni al-‘Amiriyah neighborhood. The 51 bodies of Sunnis ranged in age from 18 to 60. The youngest were school and university students, who worshipped in the Baghdad districts of ash-Shu‘lah, al-Kazimiyah, at-Tubji, as-Sadr, Baghdad al-Jadidah, and as-Saddah. They all bore signs of savage torture, the source said. Bodies found in the as-Sadr area were found with papers in their pockets saying: “this is the fate of infidel Wahhabi bastards.”

Turkey protests over Mossad involvement with Kurdish separatists.

In a dispatch posted at 12:am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that The Turkish Foreign Minister summoned the ambassador of the Zionist entity, “Israel,” in Ankara and handed him a letter of protest for his government concerning what Turkey regards as interference by the Zionist Mossad secret police into Kurdish affairs. Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Ankara had rejected excuses offered by “Israel” concerning increased demand by Iraqi Kurds for political asylum in the Jewish state. The Zionist authorities have claimed that they were simply responding to requests for asylum, a majority of which were made, they claimed, by Kurds of Jewish origin who wished to live in “the promised land” ﾐ i.e., occupied Palestine. Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Turkish security agencies have been raising objections that the Mossad has been making use of such supposed “Jewish Kurds” in its foreign espionage activities.

The Turkish security agencies maintain that the “Jewish Kurds” receive training in specialized Zionist institutes in Tel Aviv, after which they are replanted in the Iraqi Kurdistan region under the guise of owners of trading companies and heads of development projects. Turkish Intelligence has noted the presence in Iraqi Kurdistan of Kurds who left the area during the First Gulf War and who are now back, training the Kurdish separatist forces under the US-installed “President” of the Kurdish area of Iraq, Mas‘ud Barzani. A Kurdish detachment that received logistics training in the Zionist state is currently working in the administration of Irbil Airport, the Turkish agencies report, according to Mafkarat al-Islam. Turkish security forces maintain furthermore, that there is close coordination between the supporters of Barzani and the Kurdish Workers Party, which is actively opposed to the Turkish government and that Kurdish separatist experts who received training in “Israel” are now providing assistance to the Kurdish separatists in Turkey.

Al-Miqdadiyah.

Resistance battles US, Iraqi puppet troops throughout area near al-Miqdadiyah Friday afternoon destroying Abrams tank; one day after Resistance fighters shot down two American helicopters there.

In a dispatch posted at 5:55pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that violent fighting was underway at that moment between US occupation forces and members of the Iraqi Resistance in various districts east of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the battle was underway in the villages of ‘Arab Jabbur, as-Sudur, al-Haruniyah, Sansal, al-Miqdadiyah (85km northeast of Baghdad), and suburbs of Ba‘qubah (65km northeast of Baghdad).

The correspondent reported that the fighting erupted when Resistance forces mounted an organized assault from several different directions on concentrations of US and Iraqi puppet army forces. Many of the Iraqi puppet troops fled before the attacking Resistance men. One US Humvee was destroyed and at the time of reporting the Resistance was firing mortar shells and rockets at concentrations of US troops, who were returning fire with even greater force at the Resistance forces. It was in the same area that the Iraqi Resistance shot down two American helicopter gun ships on Thursday.

Resistance fighters destroy Abrams tank, killing a reported six American troops . . .

In a bulletin posted at 7:30pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, Iraqi Resistance fighters in al-Miqdadiyah destroyed a US Abrams tank and killed at least six US troops.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Brigades of the 1920 Revolution, which is taking part in the battle alongside other Resistance groups, as saying that a bomb exploded and after that, Resistance fighters fired an RPG7 rocket-propelled grenade destroying the giant tank and killing at least six US troops who were inside. The source told Mafkarat al-Islam that all the Resistance organizations were fighting as one in the Battle of al-Miqdaiyah against the US occupation troops. The source expected the fighting to continue into the night, on the basis of how things were going at the time. Meanwhile, loudspeakers systems on mosques in the area were proclaiming “Allahu Akbar!” “God is Greatest!” in order to spur on the Resistance men in their battle with the Americans.

US drops cluster bombs on villagers. Large civilian casualty toll reported. . .

In a bulletin posted at 8:11pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier US warplanes had dropped anti-personnel cluster bombs on the villages of ‘Arab Jabbur, al-‘Ali, and Hanbas. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bombing, which targeted the mud houses of the local villagers, killed a large number of women and children. The correspondent also noted that the Americans had withdrawn their helicopter gun ships from the area for fear that fighters would shoot them down. As a result, the only aircraft in the sky are US fighter-bombers.

Flames light up the night skies of al-Miqdadiyah. . .

In a dispatch posted at 9:40pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the skyline of al-Miqdadiya was alight with fire reminiscent of the night when Baghdad fell to the American invaders. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local residents in al-Miqdadiyah as saying that that Resistance fighters were putting up a stiff battle against attacking US and Iraqi puppet forces who are assaulting the city with tanks and rockets. Mosque loudspeakers continued to broadcast prayers of support to the Resistance fighters as they struggled against the attacking Americans.

Puppet regime claims to have found Resistance prison for Shi‘i and Kurdish prisoners in al-Miqdadiyah refuted.

In a dispatch posted at 8:45pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that residents of al-Miqdadiyah denied claims being made by the official mouthpieces of the Shi‘i sectarian puppet “Iraqi government” that the US occupation troops had discovered a large prison surrounded by barbed wire and high walls in which Shi‘i and Kurdish captives were held prisoner by the Iraqi Resistance. The al-Miqdadiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the claims about finding a “prison” were disproved in the first place because so far the American forces had been unable to get into the fortified villages that are the object of their offensive in the al-Miqdadiyah area.

The correspondent reported that the official media of the puppet regime claimed that the prison had been found in al-Miqdadiyah, but that US forces themselves were saying that they were unable to get into that city due to the ferocity of the resistance. A member of the al-Qa‘idah organization in the Land of the Two Rivers told Mafkarat al-Islam that the aim of the claim to have found a prison was to attract the largest number possible of Shi‘i sectarians to al-Miqdadiyah to aid the Americans in their attack on the city and its population.

Resistance captures deputy commander of puppet “Scorpion Brigade” in al-Miqdadiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 8:14pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance forces captured the deputy commander of the puppet Regime’s “Scorpion Brigade” of security forces that is taking part in the US campaign against Resistance forces in al-Miqdadiyah. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Shaykh Abu al-Hasan al-‘Ubaydi as saying that the Resistance had captured the security force officer together with five members of the “Scorpion Brigade,” one of them a First Lieutenant. The Shaykh said tat the Resistance had lain an ambush for the puppet “Scorpion” officers in the as-Sadr touristic area. The prisoners were then taken for interrogation.

Al-Mahmudiyah.

Shaykh Sa‘id Taha as-Samarra’i beaten, abducted by Shi‘i sectarian militia Thursday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 5:25pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Shi ‘ sectarian militiamen abducted Shaykh Sa‘id Taha as-Samarra’i, the Imam of the 14th of Ramadan Mosque in al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad. The kidnapping took place as the Shaykh, who is nearly 70 years of age, was returning home Thursday evening. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Shi‘i sectarian militiamen dressed like the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia set up a fake roadblock on the Abu Dashir Road in southern Baghdad. They stopped the Shaykh’s car, got him out and then severely beat and kicked him.

They stomped on his turban with their feet and then blindfolded him and then took him off to an unknown destination. The witnesses said that a second man, whom they did not recognize, and who was accompanying Shaykh as-Samarra’i, was also abducted by the Shi‘i sectarians. Relatives of Shaykh Taha as-Samarra’i began to search the garbage dumps and public squares of Baghdad on Friday morning, looking for the body of the Shaykh. Victims of the many kidnappings, tortures, and murders routinely carried out by pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militias are frequently found in garbage dumps and public squares.

Resistance fires rocket, mortar shell at US base before dawn Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:20pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a Katyusha rocket and a mortar shell at the US base in the city of Kirkuk in northern Iraq at 3am Friday morning local time. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-‘Urubah neighborhood as saying that the rocket and mortar round struck the US base. Local residents reported seeing US helicopters hovering in the vicinity of the base, firing flares as they searched for the attackers in pre-dawn darkness.
