Following death of five US occupation troops US keeps city of ar-Rutbah sealed off from outside world for five straight days.
In a dispatch posted at 7:50pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that for four days the town of ar-Rutbah in far western Iraq near the Jordanian border has been subject to a stringent blockade and embargo, similar to that which has been imposed on the city of ar-Ramadi. In addition to cutting off the city from ground traffic, the internet and other means of communication have been cut off, preventing news of developments in ar-Rutbah reaching the outside world for several days. The ar-Rutbah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops closed all approaches to the city on Friday, 30 June.
Not only have people been blocked from entering or leaving ar-Rutbah, but the US forces have also prevented food or medical supplies from getting into the beleaguered city. The Americans sealed off ar-Rutbah on Friday after five US troops were killed in the city and the body of one of them hung up on a machine used to raise vehicles located near the city car wash. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that following that attack, US forces sealed off the city and began launching massive raids, searches and arrests. That situation has continued and the city remained sealed with searches and raids underway on Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, Iraqi Resistance forces present in the city were raising consciousness against the occupation forces.

Resistance rockets pound US camp west of ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 11:09am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of medium-range Katyusha rockets at the US military headquarters set up in the Iraqi Eighth Brigade Camp west of ar-Ramadi. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the Kilo 5 area west of ar-Ramadi as saying that a violent barrage of Katyusha rockets blasted directly into the American occupied camp, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.
Al-Hadithah.
US soldier reported killed by Resistance sharpshooter east of al-Hadithah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:04am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the al-Haqlaniyah area, east of al-Hadithah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Haqlaniyah as saying that the a US soldier who was on observation duty in a patrol on the road to the al-Haqlaniyah primary school took a direct hit from an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him instantly.

Resistance sharpshooter kills one wounds second Iraqi puppet army soldiers.
In a dispatch posted at 2:26pm Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed one Iraqi puppet soldier and wounded a second in the middle of the city of Abu Ghurayb, about 30km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Abu Ghurayb as saying that an Iraqi puppet army patrol was halted by the side of the main road in the city market when one Iraqi puppet solider was killed and another wounded by an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter’s bullets. The wounded man had severe injuries to his shoulder.

Puppet army general admits: Iraqi Resistance now controls half of Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 9:20pm Makkah time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in the first such admission, a high-ranking officer in the Iraqi puppet army admitted that half of Baghdad had fallen into the hands of the various organizations of the Iraqi Resistance during the last two weeks. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a brigadier general in the Iraqi puppet army who asked not to be identified, as admitting that following the US-led “Advance together” operation by puppet regime forces against the Resistance, the situation had become worse for the US-backed government than it had been previously, with whole swaths of territory in the capital falling under Resistance control and administration.
During the day, the puppet army general said, half of Baghdad is in the hands of the Resistance and at night 60 percent is under Resistance control. The districts of al-‘Amiriyah, al-Ghazaliyah, as-Sayyidiyah; the neighborhoods of al-Khadra’ al-Jami‘ah, al-Mansur, al-Yarmuk, al-‘Amil, al-Jihad; the districts of al-Fadl, as-Salihiyah, al-A‘zamiyah, ad-Durah, al-Bayya‘, as-Salikh, and extensive parts of the area of ash-Sha‘b, the al-‘Adl neighborhood, the area of Bab al-Mu‘azzam are under the control of the Iraqi Resistance. The general said that those checkpoints that the Americans or Iraqi puppet army forces do erect in those areas have as their main task to protect themselves. Being assigned to checkpoints in those areas is now a form of punishment for soldiers who fall out of step with their unit commanders.
The source said that the areas of ath-Thawrah, ash-Shu ‘lah, and al-Kazimiyah and the neighborhood of Ur, and the areas of al-Karadah and Baghdad al-Jadidah and other areas in ar-Rusafah are controlled by Shi‘i militias. Therefore the much-touted “Advance together” offensive can be said to have failed completely.
Resistance bomb rips through puppet “Iraqi National Guard” patrol.
In a dispatch posted at 10:30am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” patrol in the al-Khadra’ neighborhood of western Baghdad. The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Khadra’ as saying that the bomb, which had been planted by the side of the road to the al-‘Amiriyah district, blew up by a puppet “National Guard” patrol, disabling a Jeep and killing one Iraqi puppet soldier. Two more puppet “Guards” were wounded in the blast.
Resistance bomb rips through puppet “Shock Troop” patrol in tens Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah Tuesday morning. The ad-Durah correspondent for Quds Press reported that the bomb, in the al-Mikanik neighborhood, went off by a puppet “Shock Troop” patrol, killing four of the puppet “Shock Troops” and wounding a number more. Following the attack, Iraqi puppet army troops surrounded the scene and prevented anyone from approaching. Ambulances showed up and took the casualties away to hospitals. Observers report that in recent days, ad-Durah has witnessed considerable sectarian tension as Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia shell Sunni residential areas in the suburb. In return, Resistance fighters have been shelling the Abu Dashir district which is regarded as a stronghold of the Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi, Quds Press reported.

Resistance mortars pound joint US-Iraqi puppet army camp near at-Tarimiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:39am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired six 82mm mortar rounds into the headquarters jointly occupied by US and Iraqi puppet military forces in at-Tarimiyah, about 30km north of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the shells scored direct hits on the facility, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.
Resistance fighters ambush US military column near at-Tarimiyah Monday evening.
In a dispatch posted at 11:39am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed a US military column on the main al-Mushahadah road in southern at-Tarimiyah, about 30km north of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in at-Tarimiyah as saying that Resistnace fighters armed with light and medium weapons and rocket launchers ambushed a US column on Monday evening. One US armored vehicle was disabled and a Humvee set ablaze in the attack.

Resistance bomb blasts US column in Balad.
In a dispatch posted at 10:40am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the main road in southern Balad, about 85km north of Baghdad. The Balad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb, which had been planted north of the Balad fuel station, went off as a US column was driving past it. The explosion destroyed a Humvee, killing or wounding the five American troops who were aboard it.

Resistance bombards puppet “Iraqi National Guard” and puppet police headquarters in Ba‘qubah.
In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four 60mm mortar rounds at the joint Iraqi puppet “National Guard” and puppet police headquarters in the at-Tahrir neighborhood in the middle of Ba‘qubah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in at-Tahrir as saying that the shells scored direct hits on the headquarters, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.
