In a dispatch posted at 3:10pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet army patrol on the main road in the middle of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted opposite the headquarters jointly occupied by US and Iraqi puppet army forces exploded by an Iraqi puppet army patrol, destroying a patrol vehicle and killing one Iraqi puppet soldier and wounding three more of them.

Resistance mortars blast joint US-Iraqi puppet army headquarters in western al-Fallujah shortly after midnight Sunday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 10:37am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired six 82mm mortar rounds into a headquarters jointly occupied by US and Iraqi puppet forces in western al-Fallujah at 1am Sunday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Fallujah as saying that the barrage set off violent explosions inside the headquarters.

Resistance bomb in Abu Ghurayb reportedly kills two US troops.

In a dispatch posted at 10:17am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the main road near the al-Bu Munaysir area in western Abu Ghurayb, about 30km west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Bu Munaysir as saying that the bomb destroyed an American Humvee, killing two US troops and wounding two more of them.

Shi‘i sectarian militias open rocket, mortar barrage on Abu Hanifah Mosque and residential areas of Baghdad’s al-A‘zamiyah late Sunday afternoon in apparent preparation for a sectarian assault on the predominantly Sunni area. In a dispatch posted at 7pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment Shi‘i sectarians were shelling the predominantly Sunni al-A‘zamiyah district of Baghdad with mortars and Katyusha rockets. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-A‘zamiyah reported that several mortar shells had landed in houses of local civilian residents, in the royal cemetery, and the historic cathedral Mosque of Abu Hanifah an-Nu‘man. Meanwhile, the correspondent reported that at that time, dozens of Shi‘i sectarian militia had surrounded then al-A‘zamiyah district were apparently preparing for an assault on the heavily populated area.

In a dispatch posted at 8:35pm Makkah time Sunday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen fired four heavy 120mm mortar rounds at residential houses in the predominantly Sunni al-A‘zamiyah district of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported from al-A‘zamiyah that Iraqi puppet army forces, who had recently been supplied American Humvees, together with Shi‘i sectarian militia were firing rockets at the predominantly Sunni district at that moment.

One local family killed in their home by Shi‘i sectarian barrage. . .

In a dispatch posted at 8:50pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier one of the rockets being fired by Shi‘i sectarian militias and puppet army forces had killed a family in the al-A‘zamiyah district. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the exact number of persons killed was as yet not clear but local residents and Iraqi Resistance fighters were at that moment working to dig bodies or survivors out of the ruins of their home. The correspondent noted that Iraqi Resistance fighters were at that moment unable to respond to the puppet army and Shi‘i sectarian militia attacks since so far the attacks were in the form of rocket and mortar barrages fired into al-A‘zamiyah from outside the district. The correspondent noted that the attack on the heavily populated district was being mounted by Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades and Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen while heavily armed Iraqi puppet army forces were providing them cover.

Resistance group announces capture of two Iranian Revolutionary Guard spies in al-A‘zamiyah. . .

In a dispatch posted at 9:05pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, an Iraqi Resistance organization in al-A‘zamiyah had announced that it had arrested two members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in al-A‘zamiyah disguised in civilian clothing and carrying hand grenades and light arms. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi Resistance as saying that the two Iranians had admitted to infiltrating into al-A‘zamiyah Sunday afternoon. Both spoke fluent Arabic.

Iraqi Resistance fighters throw back assault by “Interior Ministry Shock Troops” and Jaysh al-Mahdi Shi‘i sectarian militia in Baghdad’s al-Jihad district Sunday night.

As part of their offensive on districts of Baghdad known for their support of the Iraqi Resistance which centered on the historic al-A‘zamiyah district, Shi‘i sectarian militias and puppet Interior Ministry troops also carried out an attack on the predominantly Sunni al-Jihad district of western Baghdad Sunday night. After a 25-minute battle the Iraqi Resistance repulsed the Shi‘i sectarian assault.

In a dispatch posted at 9:10pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier fighting had broken out between Iraqi Resistance fighters and gangs of Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen in the al-Jihad neighborhood of Baghdad. Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” were fighting alongside the Shi‘i sectarian militias in “one rank.” Then in a dispatch posted at 10:40pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance forces had mounted their first counter attack on the Shi‘i sectarian militia offensive that began at sunset on Sunday, crushing a Shi‘i sectarian assault on al-A‘zamiyah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported numerous members of the Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia had been killed or wounded in the al-Jihad neighborhood of western Baghdad. The correspondent reported a source in the Iraqi Resistance as saying that at least 10 Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen had been killed and a number more wounded in their failed attack. The survivors of that attack retreated from the al-Jihad neighborhood following a 25-minute battle with Resistance fighters. The correspondent said that Resistance fighters were still in the neighborhood concealed from the view of the American occupation forces, which deployed in strength in al-Jihad after the failure of their Shi‘i sectarian allies’ attack. In the course of the Shi‘i sectarian assault on al-Jihad, one local woman (a Sunni) was wounded.

Resistance car bomber blasts, flattens puppet “Shock Troop” checkpoint in southern Baghdad Sunday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 7:45pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosive-laden car bomb into a checkpoint manned by puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” by the al-Jihad neighborhood bridge linking the two parts of al-‘Amiriyah and the al-Jihad neighborhood in southern Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported from near the scene of the attack that more than eight puppet “Shock Troops” had been killed in the deadly attack. Local residents who observed the scene from their rooftops said that the puppet “Shock Troop” checkpoint had been completely flattened with nothing in it left alive. The correspondent wrote that at the time of reporting gunfire was echoing from a second puppet “Shock Troop” checkpoint just 500 meters from the first.

In a dispatch posted at 11:46pm Baghdad time Sunday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq reported that fierce fighting had raged between puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Forces” backed up by Shi‘i sectarian militia on the one hand, and local residents of the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah on the other. The sectarian gangs and puppet regime forces launched an attack on ad-Durah on Sunday afternoon, striking the neighborhoods of al-Iskan ash-Sha‘bi, al-Mu‘allimin, al-Wadi, and at-Tu‘mah. Numerous mosques in those areas were targeted including the Mosque of Khalid ibn al-Walid, Sahib ar-Rumi, al-Iskan, and al-‘Abbas ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib.

Local residents resisted the attacking puppet regime troops and sectarian militias with great courage, the Association of Muslim Scholars reported, inflicting undetermined losses in their ranks. The explosions that rocked ad-Durah could be heard throughout the city. Local residents also arrested a number of the attacking gangs who admitted to being members of well-known Shi‘i sectarian militias.

The ferocity of the neighborhood fighters was so great that the puppet regime troops and sectarian militiamen broke and fled. In addition the puppet troops manning a number of checkpoints in the vicinity also abandoned their posts and fled, afraid that the local residents would follow up with attacks on their positions. The Association in its news dispatch Sunday night reported that the situation was still very tense in ad-Durah as local people were on high alert, expecting that the puppet regime troops and their Shi‘i sectarian allies would return and attack the defiant district once again. Then as midnight approached, five puppet “Interior Ministry” vehicles drove into the area. Two of them withdrew, but three took up positions on high ground which would be advantageous for launching an attack or for sniping at local residents.

In a dispatch posted at 5:35pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol on the main road in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ad-Durah as saying that the bomb completely destroyed an American military vehicle, killing three US troops and wounding two more of them.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet police in Baghdad’s al-Karadah.

In a dispatch posted at 10:42am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet police patrol in southeastern Baghdad’s al-Karadah district. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Karadah as saying that an explosives-laden car that had been parked on the road to al-Jadiriyah blew up when an Iraqi puppet police patrol drove past. The explosion disabled a patrol vehicle, and set two civilian cars ablaze. Two puppet policemen were wounded in the blast.

In a dispatch posted at 10:50am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column in at-Tarimiyah, about30km north of Baghdad, on the al-Mushahadah Road. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in at-Tarimiyah as saying that the bomb disabled an American Humvee, wounding four US troops.

Buhriz.

Resistance bomb rips through puppet “National Guard” patrol in Buhriz.

In a dispatch posted at 4:20pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of puppet “Iraqi National Guards” on the main road in Buhriz, just south of Ba‘qubah, which is about 65km northeast of Baghdad. The Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Buhriz as saying that the bomb went off by a passing puppet “National Guard” patrol, destroying a patrol vehicle and wounding four puppet “Guards,” one of them severely.

In a dispatch posted at 10:59am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” patrol in the Balad Ruz area, about 80km east of Ba‘qubah. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Balad Ruz as saying that bomb, which had been planted on al-Imam Mansur Road, went off by a puppet “National Guard” patrol, destroying a patrol vehicle and killing one puppet “Guardsman” and wounding three more of them. Among the wounded was the captain who was commanding the patrol.

In a dispatch posted at 3pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove a car bomb into a patrol of Iraqi puppet police on the main road in the ar-Rashad area of western Kirkuk. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that an Iraqi Resistance fighter drove an explosives-laden car ito a puppet police patrol, destroying a patrol vehicle and killing two puppet policemen and wounding four more of them.
