From Muhammad's letter :
...
By the way, I have been highlighting appeals for the
rescue of the Russian diplomats being held hostage in
Iraq. It is criminal and disgusting that they have
been taken hostage, (and also very suspicious)
I have been trying to feature their case in the Iraqi
Resistance Report, even though I fear that the IRR's
influence is limited. But this is the least one can
do.
Best comradely regards!
Muhammad

Baghdad.
Russian Foreign Ministry issues appeal for the lives of its hostage diplomats.
The official spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation, Mikhail L. Kamynin, made a statement on Wednesday regarding the Russian embassy staffers who were taken hostage in Baghdad. The statement, published on the Russian Foreign Ministry website, stated:
“According to information that has come in, the ‘Shura Council of the Mujahideen’, which has taken responsibility for the seizure of staff members of the Russian embassy in Baghdad, has made the decision to execute the hostages.
“Once again we resolutely appeal not to allow the irreparable to take place but to preserve the lives of our people. The matter concerns representatives of the Russian people who never and nowhere waged war against Islam. Russia is a country of many faiths in which the representatives of two great religions ミ Orthodoxy and Islam ミ have for centuries lived in peace and accord. One of the Russian citizens who have been taken hostage is a Muslim.
“Those who carried out this action must also listen to the numerous calls of the highest authorities of the Islamic world who are insisting on the fastest possible release of Russian citizens.”
Sister of Russian Muslim diplomat abducted in Iraq appeals for his release.
The Muslim sister of a Russian diplomat abducted in Iraq has urged his kidnappers to be merciful to their captives and to release them, the Russian Interfax news agency reported Tuesday.
“As a Muslim and a representative of all Muslims of Russia the developments in Iraq are close to my heart. I cannot understand why innocent Russian diplomats should suffer when the main purpose of their mission is to restore peace in a country friendly to us,” the open letter from Aliya, sister of Rinat Agliulin who was abducted in Baghdad on July 3, says.
“It is very painful that my elder brother, the sole supporter of our family, found himself a hostage in a Muslim state, as he was doing his bit to develop relations,” the letter says.
“Therefore I implore you to demonstrate reason and to think of the feelings of his friends and relatives. I beg you to be merciful and release the hostages because Islam is first and foremost a religion of peace and goodness,” she said in the letter.
Dozens of employees abducted from puppet regime plant where barbed wire and barricades that serve US occupation forces were manufactured.
In a dispatch posted at 7:10pm Makkah time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier unknown armed men kidnapped between 85 and 150 employees of a public sector construction company in the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji. The plant where they worked, originally a part of the Iraqi military industrial complex, was turned by the puppet regime into a facility for making metal doors, windows, and pipes.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that as four Type 44 buses were taking the employees away along the at-Taji highway near the Hittin Public Construction Company, unknown armed men got them to get off the bus and arrested them and took them away to an unknown destination.
Official puppet regime sources told Mafkarat al-Islam that the men were employees working for the Nasr Public Company for Construction Materials, Iron, and Steel and the public Hittin Company ミ both owned by the Iraqi puppet regime government.
The sources said that the abducted men work building concrete barricades and barbed wire that is put around headquarters used by the US occupation forces and their puppet regime allies and along highways.
Most of the workers were Shi‘i according to the correspondent, who noted that Sunni religious leaders had banned Believers from working in those plants because of the harm that their products do to the Iraqi Resistance cause and its personnel. Accounts differed as to the number of men abducted, ranging from a low of 85 to as high as 132.

Bushra Khalil said that the American decision to withdraw military protection of the defense lawyers followed US attempts to make her change her legal defense approach.
Bushra Khalil revealed that she herself had received threats over the telephone two days earlier, and said that she believed that the murder of al-‘Ubaydi and the threats to herself were aimed at hindering the work of the defense team as the hearings drew to a close.
