Resistance engages US occupation troops in fierce battle in ar-Ramadi Friday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 3:30pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at the time of reporting fierce fighting was underway in ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad, between US occupation troops on one side and, on the other, Iraqi Resistance fighters including men of al-Qaidah in the Land of the Two Rivers Resistance organization as well as other Resistance groups.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters equipped with various types of weapons were battling the Americans in the areas of 20 Street, and al-Kass Street, and 17 Tammuz Street in the city.
The witnesses reported that dozens of Resistance men were engaged in battle as cries of Allahu Akbar rang out from mosques.
An American Humvee and a van had been destroyed as of the time of the initial report and a number of US soldiers killed or wounded, the correspondent reported. Men, women, and children were gathered at the doors of their homes following the battle, some praying for the victory of the Resistance fighters, others in tears. One resident told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that the reason for the tears was that local people felt that the al-Qaidah members were like orphans of az-Zarqawi, having lost their commander, but now they are proving that their Resistance is continuing.
In addition to the al-Qaidah fighters, the members of several other Resistance organizations have joined in the battle against the American occupation troops and explosions can be heard everywhere throughout the city.
In an update posted at 6:40pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that hundreds of American troops in dozens of military vehicles had stormed into ar-Ramadi to join the fierce battle that was still underway between American occupation forces and the Iraqi Resistance.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the intensity of the fighting had escalated as US warplanes and helicopter gun ships joined the battle against the Resistance men on the ground. Despite the air support, the Resistance had destroyed four American vehicles since the battle erupted, the correspondent reported, two more since his initial report earlier in the afternoon. In addition, no small number of US troops had been killed or wounded in the fighting, he wrote.
The correspondent reported that US troops were entering family homes and going up on the roofs in order to secure commanding positions from where they can shut down streets by sniping at people. Fighting had been raging with particular ferocity in the neighborhoods of al-Malab and ad-Dubbat for the previous half hour, the correspondent noted.
In a later news dispatch posted at 7pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops had used giant loudspeakers to call on the Iraqi Resistance fighters battling them in the streets of ar-Ramadi to throw down their weapons and surrender.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the American loudspeakers broadcast the message: To all the gunmen, your Amir has died. There is no longer any need to fight. Throw down your weapons and give yourselves up to the American and Iraqi [puppet] forces. We promise you that you ill not be harmed.
The correspondent reported that the Resistance response came quickly, taking the form of barrages of Katyusha rockets and mortar shells that rained down on US troop concentrations in the al-Malab neighborhood and the provincial office building that serves the Americans as their local headquarters.
Baghdad.
High-ranking official in Iraqi puppet Ministry of Petroleum abducted in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 7:50pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US-installed puppet regime in Baghdad had announced that a high-ranking official in the puppet Iraqi Petroleum Ministry had been abducted.
The BBC, as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam, reported a spokesman for the puppet regime as saying that the General Director of the Official Establishment for Oil Planning, Muthanna al-Budayri had been abducted in Baghdad as he was on his way home from work. The spokesman said that armed men stopped his car in the al-Azamiyah district of northern Baghdad and led him away to an unknown destination, letting his driver go free.
Four US troops killed in Resistance bomb attack on US column in western Baghdads al-Amiriyah district late Friday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 2:40pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol in western Baghdads al-Amiriyah district at 11am local time Friday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb, which was planted by the side of al-Amal ash-Shabi Street across from the ar-Rabat Candy Store blew up by a passing American patrol. The blast destroyed one Humvee, killing four US troops and severely wounding a fifth, according to a source in the puppet Iraqi Army Control locate opposite the Shuunak Electronics display about 400 meters from where the bomb went off.
After the blast, US forces surrounded the entire area for three hours despite the ban on motor traffic. They were forced to call in Iraqi fire fighters to cope with the blaze ignited by the bomb.
They then removed the bodies of the dead and the wounded solder and the wreckage of the vehicle, hauling them away to the US base set up in what was the al-Ailah Orphans Home, prior to the American invasion when US troops took over the facility and turned it into one of their bases.
US shuts down all motor traffic in Baghdad, surrounds Sunni districts in fear of Resistance retaliation for American killing of az-Zarqawi.
In a dispatch posted at 12:01pm Makkah time midday Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces had imposed a stringent ban on civilian motor traffic in Baghdad and a complete blockade of all the Sunni districts of the occupied Iraqi capital beginning Friday morning. US and Iraqi puppet army vehicles fill the streets and swarms of American helicopter gun ships prowl the skies overhead, as pro-American Shii sectarians continue to celebrate the American killing of Abu Musab az-Zarqawi.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that hundreds of US and Iraqi puppet army forces had been setting up roadblocks since early Friday, seizing control of the streets after announcing by loud speaker that a curfew on motor traffic had been declared throughout all the districts of Baghdad.
The largely Sunni districts of al-Amiriyah, ad-Durah, al-Azamiyah al-Ghazaliyah, al-Bayya, and al-Mansur, as well as the al-Jihad, al-Khadra, and ash-Shaykh Umar neighborhoods, and the Bab ash-Shaykh area in addition to a number of other Sunni areas were blockaded by US occupation troops and Iraqi puppet army forces who have banned all motor traffic and all use of cell phones in the streets.
Six American civilians working for the occupation reported killed in Resistance rocket attack on Green Zone at dawn Friday.
In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a rocket barrage into the American high-security area around the Republican Palace in Baghdad the district dubbed the green Zone by the US forces where the American occupation regime has its headquarters.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet security forces who works inside the Green Zone as saying that nine Resistance rockets blasted into the Zone at 5am local time, shortly before sunrise, Friday morning. The source said the rockets came in from the direction of the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah and targeted the building housing the US embassy and the Abbasi Palace, which is the headquarters of the puppet President of Iraq installed by the Americans Jalal Talibani. Also targeted was the American Civil Affairs Administration headquarters.
The source told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance barrage inflicted both American and Iraqi collaborator casualties, killing more than six American civilian occupation personnel and eight Iraqi collaborators. A large number of people who were inside the Green Zone were wounded in the Resistance barrage as well, including a correspondent for one of the American news agencies, the source said.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent observed that the Americans did not turn on their warning sirens after the barrage as is their usual practice. They also did not allow any news media to enter the Green Zone to film or photograph the scene. The source said that this was because the man in charge of security in the Zone insisted on not disturbing the joy of the troops and the [puppet] government over the killing of az-Zarqawi.
The correspondent noted that the Green Zone came under a similar attack on Thursday afternoon. That Resistance strike inflicted material damage.
Hundreds volunteer for al-Qaidah in Baghdad neighborhood following az-Zarqawi death.
In a dispatch posted at 11:15am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the American killing of Abu Musab az-Zarqawi has led to an upsurge in volunteers to join the Iraqi Resistance.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Shayk Abu Numan al-Azami, the Operations Commander of the al-Qaidah Organization in the ar-Rusafah district of Baghdad, as saying that more than 200 youths who had been sitting on the sidelines of the Jihad volunteered to join the ranks of al-Qaidah on Thursday evening and Friday morning, 30 of them as fidai martyrdom fighters.
In an exclusive interview with Mafkarat al-Islam, Shaykh al-Azami said the volunteers came in via trustworthy channels and asked to join the Jihad under the command of al-Qaidah. They will be subjected to testing, God willing. Al-Azami said the increase in volunteers was a natural reaction of the youth to the killing of az-Zarqawi.
Following US killing of az-Zarqawi, 15 newborns named Abu Musab in Baghdad hospital; one of them a Christian.
In a dispatch posted at 11:35am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that following the American killing of Abu Musab az-Zarqawi, 15 children who were born in Baghdad on Thursday night were named by their parents Abu Musab in honor of the fallen Resistance fighter.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a woman doctor in the ar-Rahibat Hospital in the center of Baghdad as saying that all the 15 newborns were officially listed as Abu Musab after their birth and in all the cases both the mother and father insisted upon it.
The doctor told Mafkarat al-Islam that one of the women who named her son Abu Musab was a Christian lady. She said to me, A man like Abu Musab az-Zarqawi who humiliated 16 armies from around the world is definitely worthy of respect. I just hope my son can have his courage.

Iraqi resident of Habhab gives his account of Abu Musab az-Zarqawis last moments.
In a dispatch posted at 9:25pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Ahmad Muhammad, an Iraqi who lives near the house in which Abu Musab az-Zarqawi was killed, said that the home had in fact been put up for sale some time before the American attack along with one faddan of land planted with date palms and citrus. The house was bought 12 days before the American attack by a man from Baghdad calling himself Abu Umar who payed 70 million dinars for it along with the garden.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Ahmad Muhammad as saying that at 5:45am two bombs or rockets, I dont exactly know which, completely destroyed the house and the garden. My house was damaged too, fifty-percent of it suffered.
Ahmad continued: Ten minutes after the end of the bombardment, and in the midst of the thick smoke we my brother, my cousin, and I rushed over to the place. There we found a number of bodies and a mans severed thigh thrown dozens of meters from the house among the trees. I found a completely charred body of a man, most of the parts of which were scattered all around. And there were the bodies of two women who had been thrown out by force of the blast. Then my brother called to me, saying that he heard the voice of a man who was still alive.
Ahmad went on, We searched around and found Shaykh Abu Musab. He was still alive. We recognized him from the TV pictures. His eyes were looking up to heaven and his finger pointed upward and he was muttering God is greatest, God is greatest, there is not god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God. Ahmad said that az-Zarqawis beard and long hair were full of dust.
We pulled him out from under the rubble, Ahmad went on. He smiled a weak smile but continued to repeat with a tired voice There is no god but God, the One, Who has no partner; and Muhammad is his servant and messenger. It was then that the first ambulance arrived. We told the driver that we were bringing over a man and that he need help but we didnt tell him that this was the Amir of amirs and the leader of men Abu Musab az-Zarqawi.
Then suddenly the American occupation forces arrived on the scene. We were still carrying the Shaykh with our hands, my brother Hamid and I. The soldiers ran up to us and took the Shaykh and threw him on the ground, but he just continued to mutter the name of God. The smile never left his face as his eyes remained fixed on heaven. The soldiers whispered together and then I knew that they recognized him. Blood was flowing from his chest, his neck, his legs and from his abdomen. I could feel some shrapnel lodged in his back when I picked him up.
Ahmad went on, When more than 20 soldiers had gathered around him they began to turn him over and over on all sides. I heard him say, I testify that there is no god but God the One, Who has no partner, and I testify that Muhammad is his servant and messenger. The soldiers began kicking him with their feet and beating him with their rifle butts. They hit him on the face and chest and on his wounds for about five minutes and torrents of blood began to flood out of his nose and mouth and he passed away in front of them. After that, they arrested us, my brother and me, our cousins, and all those who were around. They put the Shaykh onto a helicopter and took him away, I dont know where, and carried the rest of the bodies to the city hospital, as I learned later.
Ahmad Muhammad told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent: What Im telling you is something Ill be held responsible for by God on the Day of Judgement. Im not afraid if you mention my name. I live here. Everybody in Habhab knows me, and anybody can ask about me. Im not afraid to tell the truth about what I saw.
Regarding the bodies, Ahmad said, There were two bodies of women and two bodies of men that I saw, besides the Shaykh, may Gods mercy be upon him. As to the children, their remains were not found; they were completely torn apart. Thats why the occupation troops searched the ruins of the house a second time.
Ahmad concluded: We were released just nine hours after being arrested. They accused us of trying to rescue az-Zarqawi but we told them and swore to them that we are peasant folk; we dont know az-Zarqawi but after the air strike our sense of duty and honor drew us out. So they let us go.
Asked about the Americans claims that the first to get to az-Zarqawi were the Iraqi puppet army forces, Ahmad said, Thats not true. We were the first ones the American troops saw when they went into the house. Then after the Shaykh had passed away a joint force of Iraqi [puppet] army and policemen arrived.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam expressed the opinion that the reason for the Americans false claims that the puppet troops had arrived before the US forces was that they wanted to ignite sectarian hatred and fighting, prodding Sunni and Shii Iraqis to attack each other while the real killer the US occupation forces could sit by safely and watch.
US forces carry out mass raids and arrests in Habhab.
In a dispatch posted at 6:30pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation troops at the time of reporting were carrying out a campaign of mass raids and arrests in the Habhab area, not far from Baqubah, which is about 65km northeast of Baghdad. Habhab was the village a large section of which was destroyed by US aircraft on Thursday when they killed Abu Musab az-Zarqawi, the leader of the Resistance organization al-Qaidah in the Land of the Two Rivers.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at the time he submitted his report, more than 20 people had been rounded up and arrested by the American occupation troops. One of those taken into custody by the US forces was Shaykh Tariq Khalaf al-Majmai, the leader of the al-Majma tribe, whom they accuse of cooperating wih az-Zarqawi.
The correspondent reported that the campaign of raids was still underway in the area as the day drew to a close.

Resistance Katyushas blast British-occupied Abu Naji camp near al-Amarah in southeast Iraq Thursday night.
In a dispatch posted at 1pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four Katyusha rockets into the British-occupied Abu Naji camp, about 60km from the Iranian border in predominantly Shii southeastern Iraq at 11pm Thursday night.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance barrage set off powerful explosions inside the British base, sending thick smoke and fire rising into the sky as sirens wailed inside the facility.
The correspondent reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that the rocket barrage left dead and wounded and that the British had prevented members of the Iraqi puppet army from entering the camp to provide assistance, claiming that the Iraqi puppet army troops were leaking information to journalists about British military losses.
