? Resistance fire compels US Apache helicopter to make forced landing near al-Qa’im Monday night.

In a bulletin posted at 9pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier the Iraqi Resistance had opened fire on an American Apache helicopter gunship over the al-‘Ubaydi area near al-Qa’im in western Iraq near the Syrian border.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the helicopter was struck by medium machinegun fire as it was hovering at low altitude. The witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the helicopter could be seen going down with smoke coming out of its underside. It made a forced landing in the al-Bu Jum‘ah Gardens area.

The correspondent reported that he had no further information on the fate of the aircraft or its crew following the forced lading because al-Qa’im remains under the curfew imposed on the area several months ago.

? US forces arrest 14 local men following Resistance rocket assault Sunday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 8:10pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces arrested 14 local Iraqis in Hit, about 140km northwest of Baghdad, following an attack on a small American outpost to the east of the city Sunday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet municipal government as saying that the Resistance fired five rockets at the American outpost at 11pm local time Sunday night.

Afterwards, the Americans raided a number of houses in the city and arrested the men on charges of carrying out the assault. In the course of the raids, the Americans stole computers and valuables from the houses.

American propaganda radio, beamed at the local population, claimed that the 14 men were picked out by local collaborators as having been responsible for the attack.

In a dispatch posted at 2:20pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)”in the al-Yarmuk district of western Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Yarmuk as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road to the “four streets” area of the district blew up as a patrol of puppet “Shock Troops” drove past. The explosion destroyed a Ford patrol vehicle, killing one puppet “Shock Troop” soldier and wounding four more, one of them severely.

? Mysterious car bomb explodes in popular Baghdad market, renewing charges that US occupation forces are behind bombings of civilian areas to try to provoke civil war.

In a dispatch posted at 11:25am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a mysterious car bomb exploded in the middle of a popular market in eastern Baghdad, killing and wounding 19 Iraqi civilians.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the eastern Baghdad district of al-Amin as saying that an explosives-packed car that had been parked by the side of the main road in the market blew up, killing 11 people and woundin eight more, according to preliminary accounts.

Mafkarat al-Islam noted that Iraqi Resistance Groups and other Iraqi organizations had confirmed that the US occupation was involved in setting off car bombs targeting Iraqi civilians in an attempt to smear the image of the Iraqi Resistance and incite sectarian violence as Washington pursues a course of splitting Iraq along sectarian and ethnic lines.

Ibrahim ash-Shamari, a spokesman for the Islamic Army in Iraq, one of the prominent Resistance groups told al-Jazeera satellite TV in March that “there is information showing that many of the car bombings are the work of the American occupation attempting to sully the reputation of the Resistance to try to get the Iraqi people to repudiate it.”

? US-run show trial of Saddam Husayn resumes in Baghdad.

The US-run show “trial” of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn and several other Iraqi leaders being held prisoner by the US occupation forces resumed on Monday morning. As was the case during the sessions in the previous week, the activity in the “trial” centered on a 1982 plot to kill assassinate the Iraqi President and replace his government with a regime aligned with Iran. The plot was thwarted by Iraqi security forces and the putschists executed according to Iraqi law.

The US occupation is seeking to turn that case into a “crime” and is holding the showcase trial, opened in Baghdad in 2005, to provide a veneer of legality for the occupation.

? Resistance bomb wounds two US troops in ar-Rashid area south of Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 9:30am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column near ar-Rashid on the highway from Baghdad to al-Hillah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that the bomb disabled a Humvee, seriously wounding two US troops.

? Resistance bomb destroys US Bradley armored vehicle in ad-Dujayl.

In a dispatch posted at 2:25pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the road to the al-Bu Hishmah area southwest of ad-Dujayl, about 55km north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ad-Dujayl as saying that the bomb destroyed an American Bradley armored vehicle, killing or wounding the members of its five-man crew.

Ad-Dulu‘iyah.

? Resistance battles US forces in ad-Dulu‘iyah Sunday night.

In a dispatch posted at 2:15pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a fierce battle between Iraqi Resistance forces and US occupation troops accompanied by their Iraqi puppet army allies in ad-Dulu‘iyah, 97km north of Baghdad on Sunday evening.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ad-Dulu‘iyah as saying that the fighting broke out when more than 30 Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons and pipe rockets attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet army checkpoint in the western part of the city.

The witnesses reported that the fighting lasted about two hours and that the US forces used heavy weapons and called in helicopter gun ships to support them. By the end of the battle, two Iraqi puppet army vehicles and one American armored vehicle had been destroyed. Six Iraqi puppet troops were killed and 17 more of them wounded. The checkpoint itself was also wrecked.

After the battle, US forces responded with heavy artillery and warplanes in strikes on the area where they believed the attack originated. As a result of the American fire, two homes were partially destroyed and three Iraqi Resistance fighters and eight local civilians were killed. At the time of reporting, the bodies of the dead were still lying where they were killed.

The curfew that US troops imposed on ad-Dulu‘iyah after the attack was still in force at the time the correspondent contributed his report and the puppet police were not permitting local people to recover the bodies of the dead civilians killed by US artillery from their wrecked homes.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police said that Resistance fighters in three civilian cars attacked the deputy-commander of the puppet police of Samarra’, Colonel Bashir Qadduri as he came out of the downtown puppet police station in plain clothes.

The source said that al-Qadduri was able to get off some shots with his personal revolver, wounding one of them.

Samarra’ City Hospital announced a short while before the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent filed this report that Colonel al-Qadduri had died of nine gunshot wounds to various parts of his body.

? Puppet regime finally acknowledges its offensive last week on al-Jazirah area near Samarra’ but fudges figures.

In a dispatch posted at 8:40pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet “Iraqi Ministry of Defense” officially issued a statement acknowledging the offensive the Americans and their Iraqi puppet army allies had carried out in the al-Jazirah area near Samarra’ last week.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet “Ministry of Defense” issued “Statemen No. 60523” in which it said that it, along with the US occupation troops, had carried out operations against what it called “terrorist nests” in the al-Jazirah area resulting, it said in the arrest of 300 persons.

The Samarra’ correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the city as saying, however, that the number of prisoners taken by the Americans and their puppet allies in the offensive was actually 535 and that 17 people were gunned down by the Americans as well ﾐ facts omitted from the puppet regime’s official statement. The correspondent noted that it is standard practice for the official puppet regime and American announcements about operations to gloss over the numbers of people killed and arrested in their offensives when these take place in remote areas where there is little or no media access.

? Resistance bomb in Samarra’ reportedly kills two US troops.

In a dispatch posted at 10:15am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US column on the main road to the City Hospital in Samarra’, about 120km north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Hadahidah area of northern Samarra’ as saying that a bomb planted by the side of a road in the area completely destroyed a US Humvee, killing two American troops and wounding three more of them.

Khan Bani Sa‘d.

? US soldier reported killed in Resistance bombing in Khan Bani Sa‘d early Monday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 6:50pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by the side of a road in the Khan Bani Sa‘d area, about 40km northeast of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a first lieutenant in the puppet polie in the area as saying that an explosives-packed Fiat car that had been left by the road to Baghdad blew up as a US patrol drove past at 2pm local time Monday afternoon. The explosion disabled one US military vehicle and killed one American soldier and wounded four more of them.

The correspondent reported from the scene of the attack that the Americans hauled away the wreckage of the vehicle after the attack. An American helicopter landed near the scene and evacuated the four wounded and one dead man, according to owners of car washes located in the area. An official statement issued by the local hospital said that three civilians were killed in the blast as well.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that Khan Bani Sa‘d had recently been seeing an upsurge in attacks on US and Iraqi puppet military personnel and puppet police.

Ba ‘qubah.

? Resistance fighters kill two pro-American militiamen in al-Miqdadiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 2:25pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked two members of the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militias in al-Miqdadiyah, about 85km northeast of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Miqdadiyah as saying that Resistance fighters armed with machine guns shot and killed two pro-American militiamen in the popular market in al-Miqdadiyah. The Resistance fighters then left the area.

? Resistance fighters gun down puppet police, pro-US Badr Brigade gunmen.

In a dispatch posted at 10:12am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed two puppet policemen and two pro-American Badr Brigade militiamen in Ba‘qubah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad, on Monday morning.

The Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters armed with machineguns ambushed puppet policemen in the al-Kartan area south of Ba‘qubah, as they were heading to the puppet police headquarters ni the middle of the city. After killing the puppet policemen, the Resistance fighters withdrew from the area.

Resistance fighters also killed two members of the pro-US Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades in the at-Tahrir neighborhood of central Ba‘qubah. After killing the two militiamen, the Resistance fighters left the area.

? Resistance fighters kill high-ranking at-Ta’mim Province puppet official.

In a dispatch posted at 9:15pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces shot and killed Major General Nazim Ahmad Husayn, the puppet General Director of the Immigration Department in at-Ta’mim Province.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that Iraqi Resistance fighters driving two civilian cars sprayed General Husayn with machinegun fire as he was leaving the building of the puppet “Ministry of the Interior” in Baghdad on his way to the al-Mansur district in that city. General Husayn was pronounced dead on arrival in hospital.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the puppet governor of at-Ta’mim Province made an official announcement of the death of Major General Nazim Ahmad Husayn, adding that the body of the slain puppet official would arrive in Kirkuk for burial on Tuesday morning.

? US makes mass arrests in al-Mawsil and Tall ‘Afar in northern Iraq.

In a dispatch posted at 8:05pm Makkah time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces arrested 115 Iraqis in various parts of the northern cities of al-Mawsil (Mosul) and Tall ‘Afar.

The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops accompanied by their Iraqi puppet army allies carried out raids and arrests in the neighborhoods of ash-Shurtah, al-‘Urubah, and al-Qadisiyah, and also in the city of Tall ‘Afar to the west of Mosul. The mass raids and arrests began with the first hours of the dawn on Monday and continued until noon. In all 115 local people were arrested, some as young as 17 years of age. The Americans took all their prisoners to one of the US bases located in the north of the city of al-Mawsil. American propaganda radio, beamed locally at the city of al-Mawsil, claimed that those arrested are “suspects” who were taken into custody for investigation.

? Resistance bombards puppet police station in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 9:45am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired three 82mm mortar rounds at a puppet police station in the al-Kafa’at neighborhood of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq when a US patrol was stopping by there.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the three shells scored direct hits on the puppet police station, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky. After the attack, US troops and Iraqi puppet police cordoned off the puppet police station and surrounding areas.
