The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that ‘Adil ‘Abd ar-Razzaq was arrested about one year ago by the puppet “Directorate of Interior Affairs” in al-Basrah, which in actuality is run by the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades.
The correspondent reported that an officer in the puppet police contacted ‘Abd ar-Razzaq’s family two days before his body was discovered to say that the investigating judge had ordered his release after his innocence of the charges leveled against him had been established. The puppet police representative said that ‘Abd ar-Razzaq would be set free on Monday (today). Instead, on Monday family members were shocked to learn that his body had been discovered, and had been taken to the Forensic Medicine Directorate in al-Basrah.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that ‘Abd ar-Razzaq died of three gunshot wounds. One bullet penetrated his eye, the other two were in other parts of his body. The source said that a sharp struggle has erupted, recently, however, between some Iraqi members of the security service who do not wish to be subordinated to Iran, and others who belong to or are loyal to the Iranian secret services. The Iranians, the source said, have their own techniques in connection with killing their victims, one of them being to set them free and then kill them shortly afterward so as to be able to deny that they were killed in captivity.
