Al-Fallujah.

Resistance sharpshooter kills US soldier in al-Fallujah Tuesday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 10pm Mecca time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman had shot and killed a US soldier who was taking part in a patrol in al-Fallujah at about 6pm local time Tuesday evening.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the attack took place in the al-Jawlan neighborhood. Witnesses told the correspondent that the Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet struck a US soldier on patrol in the neighborhood, killing him instantly. Immediately after the attack US forces closed the street and deployed an unusually large number of troops in the area.

Resistance car bomb blasts US column in al-Fallujah Tuesday evening.

In a bulletin posted at 9:05pm Mecca time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-packed car into a US military column in the middle of al-Fallujah.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the car bomb exploded opposite the Public Company for Road and Bridge Maintenance on what is known as ash-Sharikah Street. The explosion destroyed two US vehicles, killing or wounding at least eight American troops according to an official spokesman for the puppet police. US forces were surrounding the area at the time the correspondent dispatched his report. American helicopters had also arrived to prowl the skies over the area.

Resistance attacks blast US targets in al-Fallujah Tuesday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 8:30pm Mecca time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had destroyed two US Humvees with two bombs on 40 Street in the city of al-Fallujah, some 60km west of Baghdad at 2pm local time Tuesday afternoon.

Then, according to Mafkarat al-Islam, another American Humvee was destroyed by the Resistance near the al-Hadrah al-Muhammadiyah Mosque in the middle of al-Fallujah at 4pm local time Tuesday afternoon.

An American tank was disabled near the housing complex in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah, the suburb located southwest of the city, when a Resistance bomb exploded by that vehicle at 4:30pm local time Tuesday.

US occupation forces closed roads and helicopter gun ships prowled the skies above the scenes of the attacks. Difficulty of access prevented the correspondents in the area from ascertaining details regarding the nature and extent of US casualties.

Al-Hadithah.

Americans kill four Iraqi civilians in al-Hadithah area.

In a dispatch posted at 1:40pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an American sniper had killed three Iraqi civilians and American troops had also murdered another Iraqi in al-Hadithah, some 300km west of Baghdad.

The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that an American military sniper had shot and killed three Iraqis who were riding in a car on the main road in the middle of the city. There was no apparent reason for the American attack.

In a separate incident also in the al-Hadithah area, an American sniper shot at a car in which an Iraqi and his brother were riding in the area of Barwanah, east of al-Hadithah. The bullet struck the driver of the car in the foot. US troops then approached the car and the passenger who was uninjured got away, reaching near by shops safely. Witnesses said that a group of Americans gathered around the wounded man, however, and then shot him in the head for no apparent reason, killing him.

Al-Qa’im.

Resistance bomb in Hasibah, near al-Qa’im, reportedly kills three US troops.

In a dispatch posted at 12:20pm Mecca time midday Tuesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol on the main road in the Hasibah area, east of the city of al-Qa’im, which is located near the Iraqi border with Syria.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in the middle of town blew up as a patrol of several American Humvees was passing by. The explosion completely destroyed one Humvee, killing three US troops who were aboard it.

After the blast an American Medevac helicopter landed at the scene and evacuated the bodies from the area. The wrecked vehicle was left behind.

Ar-Ramadi.

Two US troops reported killed in Resistance bombing in ar-Ramadi’s Industrial Zone.

In a dispatch posted at 11:55am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US foot patrol in the Industrial Zone of ar-Ramadi, some 110km west of Baghdad.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in the Industrial Zone blew up by a passing American foot patrol. The blast killed two US troops and wounded four more of them, two of them severely. More than 10 American military vehicles were observed surrounding the area after the attack. The bodies of the dead and the wounded were removed from the area in US military medical vehicles.

Abu Ghurayb.

Resistance bomb blasts US column south of Abu Ghurayb.

In a dispatch posted at 7:55pm Mecca time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the highway south of the town of Abu Ghurayb, some 30km west of Baghdad.

The Abu Ghurayb correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted next to the highway went off by the passing American column. The explosion disabled one US armored vehicle, wounding three American troops.

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on hunger strike.

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein announced to the US-sponsored show “trial” at the start of its session in Baghdad on Tuesday that he and two fellow prisoners had begun a hunger strike in opposition to the new, American-appointed “Judge” and his arbitrary behavior.

The Iraqi President, a prisoner of the US invader forces, entered the courtroom Tuesday proclaiming “Allahu akbar! (God is Greatest!) Long live our great people and our glorious nation (Ummah)! Long live the mujahideen!” He then told the “court”: “For three days we have been holding a hunger strike protesting against your way of treating us ― against you and your masters.”

The latest session of the so-called “trial” rigged up by the US and its puppet government began at 12 noon local time midday Tuesday.

Saddam Hussein’s half-Brother Ibrahim Barzan at-Tikriti, who appeared wearing only his long underwear for the second straight day, entered the courtroom declaring “Long live Iraq! Long live Iraq!” He complained that he and the other defendants had been forced to attend the show “trial” proceedings against their will.

“You brought me by force in my pyjamas and I have been on a hunger strike for two days,” Barzan at-Tikriti declared.

Barzan at-Tikriti attempted to speak further but the “judge” silenced him and refused to let him speak. At-Tikriti responded, “This is wrong! I’m a human being like you, and maybe better than you, why do you treat me this way?”

Iraqi Vice President Taha Yasin Ramadan admonished the American-installed “judge”: “You have not allowed us to speak! This is a scam and a crime! Your threw out our attorneys, witnesses are forced to appear, plaintiffs testify as ‘John Doe’ without their real names being given. Is there anything like this anywhere on earth?”, Agence France Presse (AFP) as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam reported.

When the American-installed “judge” responded that the “trial” was being handled in accordance with an Iraqi law enacted in 1971, Taha Yasin Ramadan shot back, “It is being handled in accordance with the law of American Proconsul L. Paul Bremer!”

As the “judge” pounded his gavel to try to restore order, Saddam Hussein told him to “take that hammer and knock yourself on the head.”

President Saddam Hussein addressed the “judge” saying, “You were commissioned by Bremer . . . I asked you for permission to speak and you didn’t let me . . . Every day we repeat the same things. This is like a show; so you have to play this out.”

The President and his fellow prisoners refused to attend sessions last month after their defense team walked out of “court” disgusted with the behavior of the newly installed “judge.” The defense attorneys have refused to return to the American-produced “trial” show until the “Judge” Ra’uf ‘Abd ar-Rahman is dismissed, accusing him of behaving in an openly hostile and biased way against the President and other prisoners.

‘Abd ar-Rahman told the defense team that if they left, they would not be allowed back into the show “trial” and then proceeded to impose new defense lawyers of his own chosing on the prisoners. President Saddam Hussein and other defendants refused to accept them, however, and refused to come to “court” without their legal representation.

On Monday, ‘Abd ar-Rahman ordered the prisoners to be forced to attend the session. The Iraqi President Saddam Hussein defiantly and angrily entered the courtroom on his own, shouting “Down with traitors! Down with Bush!.” Ibrahim Barzan at-Tikrit had to be dragged into the courtroom, wearing only his long underwear and shouting and struggling against the guards who dragged him in by the arms.

At the end of the day, the US-installed “judge” postponed the next session of the so-called “trial” two weeks, until 28 February.

US troops wounded in bomb blast in western Baghdad’s al-Iskan area.

In a dispatch posted at 5:20pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol on the main road in the al-Iskan area in western Baghadad.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road to the western entrance to the occupied Iraqi capital blew up as an American patrol was driving past. The explosion disabled one Humvee, severely wounding two US troops.

Resistance car bomb blasts puppet army checkpoint in Baghdad’s al-Karradah district.

In a dispatch posted at 3:40pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before an Iraqi Resistance car bomb had exploded by an Iraqi puppet army check point on al-Hurriyah Square in the al-Karradah area of eastern Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-Karradah as saying that a car bomb exploded near a checkpoint set up by puppet “National Guard” troops. The blast set three cares on fire, two of them belonging to the puppet “Guards.” Three puppet Guards were killed in the attack and another two wounded.

Resistance bomb in ‘Arab Jabbur area south of Baghdad reportedly kills two US troops.

In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on a farm road in the ‘Arab Jabbur area south of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of ‘Arab Jabbur as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the farm road blew up as the Americans were driving past. The explosion totally destroyed a Humvee, killing two US soldiers and wounding two more of them.

Puppet “Shock Troops” blow up house of man forced to make false “confession” on Shi‘i sectarian TV station run by puppet “Prime Minister’s” political faction.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that gunmen wearing the uniform of the puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir) blew up the house of one of a group of Iraqi Sunni Arabs whom they had arrested, paraded before TV cameras, and made to “confess” to crimes of killing and rape that they had not committed.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Hurriyah neighborhood of the city as saying that most of the “Shock Troops” were members of the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades. The witnesses said that they showed up at 9pm local time Monday night and blew up the home of one of those men in the neighborhood who had been arrested about a month earlier. The witnesses said that the man was known to be of high moral character and a committed Muslim.

The witnesses said that under pain of torture, two days ago he had been made to confess on the television program “Terror in the Grasp of Justice” that is broadcast on the al-‘Iraqiyah satellite TV station, which is run by the Shi‘i sectarian “Da‘wah Party,” which is led by US-installed “Prime Minister” Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari. The Sunni resident of al-Hurriyah was forced to “admit” to having committed rape and murder ﾐ things he had never done.

The Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq has repeatedly issued statements denouncing the activities of the al-‘Iraqiyah TV station which broadcasts “confessions” by individuals forced under torture into making false statements. Despite such denunciations and expos市, the puppet “government” has done nothing to stop the practice and the television station continues to broadcast such programs.

Commander of puppet “Rapid Deployment Forces” in Baghdad killed in Resistance ambush.

In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the motorcade of the commander of the puppet “Rapid Deployment Forces” in Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji reported local eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters ambushed the puppet commander’s motorcade on the highway, killing him and his driver.

After the attack, US and Iraqi puppet forces surrounded the area and recovered the two bodies.

Resistance kills puppet police colonel in ad-Durah.

In a dispatch posted at 11am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters equipped with light arms shot and killed a colonel in the Iraqi puppet police in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the at-Tayyarah district as saying that Resistance fighters ambushed Colonel Mahdi Matlak, an officer in charge of training the puppet police in Baghdad, killing him in a hail of small arms fire. The Resistance fighters then withdrew from the scene.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet “National Guards” in northern Baghdad’s al-Qahirah neighborhood.

In a dispatch posted at 10:50am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet “National Guard” patrol on the main road in the al-Qahirah neighborhood of northern Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-Qahirah who witnessed the attack as saying that the blast disabled one patrol vehicle, severely wounding two puppet “National Guards.”

Salah ad-Din Province.

Samarra’.

Resistance bombards US military headquarters in al-Buhayrah Hotel in Samarra’.

In a dispatch posted at 8pm Mecca time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces unleashed a mortar bombardment on a US military headquarters near the Samarra’ Bridge, some 120km north of Baghdad.

The Samarra’ correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that six Resistance mortar shells blasted into the US headquarters, which had been set up in the al-Buhayrah Hotel near the Samarra’ Bridge. The shells scored direct hits on the American headquarters, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

At-Tarimiyah.

Resistance bombards puppet police station in at-Tarimiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 2:30pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four mortar rounds into the at-Tarimiyah puppet police station north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in at-Tarimiyah as saying that the barrage set off explosions inside the puppet police station and sent plumes of smoke rising into the sky. One puppet policeman was killed and three more wounded in the Resistance attack.

Tikrit.

Resistance fighters kill Iraqi contractor working with puppet army forces.

In a dispatch posted at 2:20pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed an Iraqi contractor who was working with Iraqi puppet army forces serving the US occupation in Tikrit.

The Tikrit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters attacked a man named ‘Ali Sulyaman, who had a contract to provide supplies and foot to Iraqi puppet army forces, on 40 Street in the middle of the city. The Resistance fighters killed him and then left the area.

Al-Mushahadah.

Resistance ambushes fuel convoy near al-Mushahada, burning up three fuel tankers and killing six drivers and assistants.

In a dispatch posted at 2pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed a convoy of tankers loaded with fuel for Iraqi puppet army bases on the road to al-Mushahada, north of Baghdad.

The al-Mushahadah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the fuel convoy, completely burning three tankers and killing six drivers and assistants.

After the attack, US forces backed up by Iraqi puppet troops surrounded the city of al-Mushahadah and began house-to-house raids, searching for the Resistance fighters. As of the time of reporting, the Americans and their Iraqi puppet army supporters had arrested 23 local men on charges of carrying out attacks on US occupation troops and Iraqi puppet army soldiers.

Resistance fighters ambush US foot patrol in Tall ‘Afar.

In a dispatch posted at 11:25am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a US foot patrol in the northern city of Tall ‘Afar.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the city as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons ambushed a US patrol, wounding three American soldiers, one of them severely.
