Al-Hadithah.
Resistance sharpshooter kills two US troops in al-Hadithah.
In a dispatch posted at 4:40pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed two US troops in the al-Khafajiyah district of the western Iraqi city of al-Hadithah, some 300km west of Baghdad, as they were taking part in a foot patrol.
The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents in the neighborhood who witnessed the attack as saying that the Resistance sharpshooter killed the two US troops and then left the area, eluding the Americans’ grasp.
On Tuesday, US forces in the city used loudspeakers to announce that they were offering a reward of US$11,000 for information that leads to the capture of the al-Hadithah Sniper. Quds Press reported that the Americans had also put up posters requesting local help in finding the Resistance marksman.
Some weeks earlier, US forces posted a reward of US $100,000 for the arrest of the “al-Fallujah Sniper” who is credited with having killed more than 15 US troops.
US troops wipe out family of four in car near al-Hadithah Sunday morning.
Despite the large sums of money and the depressed economic state of western Iraq under the occupation, local residents have stubbornly refused to help US troops find the Resistance sharpshooters, Quds Press noted.
US forces opened fire on a civilian car near al-Hadithah on Sunday, 29 January, wiping out an entire family. A source in the Iraqi puppet police told Quds Press that US troops manning a check point on Sunday morning opened fire on a Brazilian ar that was carrying a family of four ミ a father, mother, and two children ミ on their way to visit relatives. All were killed, but the reason for the shooting was unknown, Quds Press reported.
The source said that the killing took place on the road leading to the al-Bu Hayat village and that one American soldier from the detachment expressed his regret over the incident but did not explain what had impelled them to wipe out the family.
Quds Press reported human rights workers as saying that US troops have wiped out families in the same spot and in the same way before, making it necessary, they say to put an end to such indiscriminate gunfire that has become habitual with the US soldiers, any time their suspicion has been aroused, even slightly.

Saddam Hussein told Khalil ad-Dulaymi during their meeting that the puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” had attacked and beaten his half brother, Barzan at-Tikriti before throwing him out of the “courtroom” after he tried to inform the “court” that his cancer was not receiving proper medical treatment.
