Al-Anbar Province.

Hit.

US launches offensive between Hit and al-Baghdadi on Euphrates in western Iraq.

In a dispatch posted at 6:30pm Mecca time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces and Iraqi puppet troops began a new military operation in region between Hit (140km west of Baghdad), and al-Baghdadi (some 35km further to the northwest) along the Euphrates River on Wednesday.

The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a joint US-Iraqi puppet army force closed the main and secondary roads in the Euphrates River Valley area between Hit and al-Baghdadi and imposed a curfew on residents in the area as well.

The correspondent reported that hundreds of US and Iraqi puppet army vehicles were seen heading towards the area. Leaflets were dropped on behalf of the US and Iraqi puppet regime forces saying that the troops were launching what they called “Operation Wadi al-Jundi ‘Valley of the Soldier’” with the aim of hunting down Resistance fighters, whom they referred to as “terrorists.”

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance bombards US headquarters in eastern al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 5:35pm Mecca time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had bombarded the US headquarters in the east of al-Fallujah, some 60km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-Fallujah as saying that the US headquarters was struck by four mortar rounds that set off explosions and sent smoke billowing into the sky.

Al-Hadithah.

Resistance bombards US camp near al-Haqlaniyah Bridge east of al-Hadithah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had shelled a US camp near the al-Haqlaniyah Bridge east of al-Hadithah in western Iraq.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-Hadithah who witnessed the attack as saying that the US camp was hit by four mortar rounds that set off explosions and set plumes of smoke billowing into the sky. Afterwards, US forces surrounded the camp.

Al-Khalidiyah.

Resistance bombards joint US-Iraqi puppet army camps built around homes of evicted villagers in al-Khalidiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 11am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance bombarded joint US and Iraqi puppet army headquarters in the al-Jazirah area north of al-Khalidiyah.

The agricultural fields in the al-Jazirah area were bulldozed by US and Iraqi puppet military forces who threw the local people out of their homes, occupied the buildings and turned them into military camps.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses who live near al-Jazirah said that four medium-range Grad rockets had blasted into the camps, scoring direct hits on them. Plumes of smoke could be seen rising over them as American warplanes and helicopters flew in to prowl the area at low altitudes.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance sharpshooter reportedly kills US soldier in observation tower in ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 10:40am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the building that housed the offices of the pro-occupation Iraq security service in western ar-Ramadi.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitneses as saying that an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet struck and killed a US soldier who was in a watchtower on the former intelligence building, now occupied by US forces.

Baghdad.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet police patrol in Baghdad’s al-A‘zamiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 5:55pm Mecca time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a puppet police patrol in the northern Baghdad area of al-A‘zamiyah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the al-Maghrib neighborhood in al-A‘zamiyah as saying that an explosives-laden car that had been parked by the side of al-Maghrib Road blew up as a puppet police patrol was driving past. The explosion disabled one of the patrol vehicles, killing one puppet policeman and wounding three more of them and one civilian who happened to be in the area at the time.

Two African engineers working for IraQna portable phone company reported abducted in Baghdad Resistance attack.

In a dispatch posted at 6:30pm Mecca time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed a column of four-wheel drive vehicles belonging to the Egyptian IraQna portable telephone company in the vicinity of the ash-Shurtah Tunnel in western Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police who was near the scene of the attack as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the convoy of armor-plated four-wheel-drive IraQna vehicles. Six security guards who were protecting contractors working for the company were killed in the ambush and two more of them wounded. Two foreign engineers working for IraQna were abducted, the source said, one from Malawi and the other from Madagascar.

The IraQna telephone company is a GSM network firm wholly owned by the Egyptian Orascom Telecom company. In July 2005 it had reportedly channeled more than US$180million into the economy of occupied Iraq, making it one of the biggest investors. It has been repeatedly accused by Resistance groups of facilitating American attacks, a charge company officials deny.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported that the attack had left 10 Iraqi guards dead, all of them employees of a private “security firm” that provides protection to employees of the IraQna company. Al-Jazeera said that IraQna announced that in addition to the engineer from Malawi another engineer from Madagascar was believed to have been kidnapped or to have fled from the scene.

In a dispatch posted at 9pm Mecca time Wednesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported the Pakistani Jang news group as saying that the government of Malawi had announced on Wednesday that it had begun an investigation into reports that an engineer from their country had been abducted in Baghdad.

Resistance unleashes ferocious bombardment of US-occupied Saddam International Airport.

In a bulletin posted at 11:40am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had just fired more than ten 120mm heavy mortar shells into the headquarters of US forces in Saddam International Airport southwest of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the areas near the airport, which US forces have turned into one of their strongholds, as saying that at the time of reporting the facility was under a ferocious mortar assault and that more than 10 shells had already blasted into the American-occupied compound. Plumes of smoke could be seen rising over the airport as swarms of helicopters fly around overhead.

Resistance fighters kill seven contractors working for Iraqi puppet army in eastern Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 11:30am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had attacked contractors working with the Iraqi puppet army in the al-Wahdah neighborhood of eastern Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-Wahdah who witnessed the attack as saying that Resistance fighters armed with machine guns attacked a house in which contractors live, killing seven of them and then withdrawing from the area without having suffered any casualties.

Salah ad-Din Province.

At-Tarimiyah.

Resistance fighters capture lieutenant colonel, captain in puppet “National Guards” north of Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 6:45pm Mecca time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had abducted two officers and one soldier in the puppet “Iraqi National Guards” in the at-Tarimiyah area just north of Baghdad.

The at-Tarimiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported an officer in the puppet “National Guards” in the city, who asked not to be identified, as saying that armed men had ambushed the motorcade of Lieutenant Colonel Iyyad Jum‘ah, kidnapping him and Captain ‘Abdallah Najm of the puppet “National Guards.”

The source said that two puppet soldiers were abducted along with the officers, but that a short while later one of the soldiers was released or an unknown reason.

US reports finding bodies of 11 puppet troops executed in at-Tarimiyah.

US military forces announced on Wednesday that they had found the bodies of 11 Iraqi puppet policemen and puppet soldiers who had been executed in at-Tarimiyah. Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported the US military as saying that the bodies were found shot to death, their hands bound and eye blindfolded.

Bayji.

Following Zionist pattern in occupied Palestine, US troops bulldoze houses, arrest two local men in Bayji.

In a dispatch posted at 5:45pm Mecca time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation troops had destroyed two houses in the as-Siniyah area in the southwest of Bayji, some 200km north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the al-‘Aday area of as-Siniyah as saying that American occupation troops planted explosives around the two houses that belong to two brothers who live in the area. The US troops evicted the residents and then blew up the houses just as the Zionists do in occupied Palestine, the local residents noted, and then bulldozed the rubble with military bulldozers. The US forces then arrested the owners of the two homes without explaining what drove them to take this action.

Ash-Sharaqat.

Two US troops reported killed, a third badly wounded in bomb attack near ash-Sharaqat.

In a dispatch posted at 12:50pm Mecca time midday Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US military column on the main road near the ash-Sharaqat area

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of ash-Sharaqat who witnessed the attack as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road that runs south to Bayji blew up as a column of several American armored vehicles and Humvees was driving past. The explosion completely destroyed one Humvee, killing two US troops and severely wounding a third.

Ad-Dujayl.

Fifty volunteers for puppet police abducted south of ad-Dujayl.

In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that armed men had abducted about 50 individuals who were volunteering as puppet police on the road that runs south from ad-Dujayl to al-Mushahadah, which is north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of ad-Dujayl as saying that armed men wearing puppet police uniforms ambushed the volunteers on a farm road when the main road to Samarra’ had been closed by US forces.

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

Resistance sharpshooter reportedly kills US soldier in western Mosul Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 7:50pm Mecca time Wednesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman had shot and killed a US soldier in western Mosul on Wednesday.

The Mosul correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a US soldier who was taking part in a foot patrol in the west of Mosul was struck in the head and killed by an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet. The American soldier died instantly, the correspondent reported.

Wasit Province.

Al-Kut.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet army column near base in al-Kut.

In a dispatch posted at 1pm Mecca time midday Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an Iraqi puppet army column on the road to the Abu ‘Ubayd military base in the city of al-Kut, some 150km southeast of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet “National Guards” as saying that a bobm that had been planted on the main road to the base blew up as a column of Iraqi puppet troops was driving past. The explosion destroyed one vehicle in the column, killing one Iraqi puppet soldier and wounding three more of them, one of them a colonel.

Muthanna Province.

As-Samawah.

Four Japanese troops wounded in Resistance bombing in as-Samawah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a patrol of Japanese occupation soldiers in the southern Iraqi city of as-Samawah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of as-Samawah who witnessed the attack as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road to the Japanese base in the city blew up as the patrol of several armored vehicles was driving past. The explosion disabled one vehicle, wounding four Japanese troops, two of them seriously.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported that the Japanese regime had denied that any Japanese occupation troops had been wounded.
