Al-Anbar Province.

Al-Fallujah.

Three Marines reported killed in bombing in al-Fallujah midday Thursday.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol in the ad-Dubbat neighborhood of al-Fallujah, some 60km west of Baghdad at midday Thursday, Quds Press reported.

Ahmad ad-Dulaymi of he local Iraqi puppet police told Quds Press that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road blew up asa US patrol was driving past. The exploion destroyed one US Humvee and killed htree Ameican Marines. US forces immediately closed off the area and evacuated the bodies to the American base located in the eastern part of the city.

Meanwhile a local source in al-Fallujah told Quds Press that the Americans are planning to launch a new security offensive in the city after the ‘Id al-Adha holidays. According to the source, the American plan provides for US troops to evict the population from the city for a period of seven days to allow them to attack Resistance fighters in the city. The source indicated that in preparation for this planned offensive, the Americans had replaced locally recruited puppet police with puppet “National Guards” at military check points, most of whom are Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade members.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance bombards US base east of ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 12:01pm Mecca time midday Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had fired six mortar round into the American headquarters east of ar-Ramadi, some 110km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the barrage sent smoke billowing into the sky from the US-occupied facility.

Baghdad.

Tariq ‘Aziz said “dying” as a result of atrocious prison conditions.

The London-based al-Hayat newspaper reported the lawyer for Iraqi Deputy Premier Tariq ‘Aziz as saying that his client is in “terminal” condition as a result of the atrocious conditions in which his American captors are keeping him. The well-known Iraqi attorney Badi‘ ‘Arif ‘Izzat told the newspaper “I don’t expect my client to live more than a month,” because of the effects of a stroke and heart disease.

‘Arif said that Tariq ‘Aziz’s health problems were greatly exacerbated by his confinement in a cell “intended for dogs” that is no longer than two meters and only one meter wide, and in which there is no light whatsoever. He is only allowed out of his cell for short periods, ‘Arif said. ‘Arif came to know of the conditions his client is forced to endure when he visited ‘Aziz during the ‘Id al-Adha holidays.

‘Arif said that the charge of genocide originally leveled against Tariq ‘Aziz had now been dropped, but he added that “they are trying to level a new charge against him related to embezzlement of public money.”

Resistance bomb targets puppet “National Guard” troops in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 2:20pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an Iraqi puppet “National Guard” patrol in the ash-Shaykh ‘Umar area in the middle of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in the area blew up by the passing patrol, destroying one Nissan vehicle and killing three puppet “National Guards” and wounding two more.

Resistance bomb destroys US supply truck, killing Vietnamese driver.

In a dispatch posted at 2pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an American cargo truck on the highway to al-Ghazaliyah in western Baghdad. The blast nearly completely burned up the vehicle and killed the driver, a Vietnamese national, according to an Iraqi puppet police source.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported First Lieutenant Ziyad Tariq as saying that the Resistance bomb blew up the truck’s gas tank, causing the truck to burst into flame and topple over off the road. The correspondent reported seeing US military vehicles arrive on the scene after Iraqi puppet police had sealed off the road.

Iraqi puppet regime grants Iraqi citizenship to pro-American Shi‘i sectarian cleric Ayatallah ‘Ali as-Sistani.

In a dispatch posted at 3:30pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that informed sources in an-Najaf, who asked not to be named, had said that on 16 January, the day before the Islamic ‘Id al-Adha Festival the US-installed regime of “Prime Minister” Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari had conferred Iraqi citizenship on the pro-American Iranian Shi‘i religious authority ‘Ali as-Sistani. The citizenship order also applied to his relatives as far as the third degree.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the source as saying that the grant of citizenship followed recent changes by the puppet regime in the Civil Status Laws giving Iraqi citizenship to 250 Iranians who had come to Iraq following the American invasion and married Iraqi women. The men reportedly speak Arabic and work as teachers and custodians at the Shi‘i shrines of ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib and al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali.

The move came several days after the puppet regime in Baghdad had awarded a monthly salary to the Iranian Shi‘i cleric who has resided in Iraq since 1952 without ever obtaining Iraqi citizenship.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Samarra’.

Resistance fighter attack, destroy cars in motorcade in Samarra’.

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked an official motorcade in the city of Samarra’ on Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported in a dispatch posted at 5:40pm Thursday evening.

The Samarra’ correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a motorcade of four civilian cars and five belonging to the Iraqi puppet army came under armed Resistance attack in the south of the city near the ar-Ribat Mosque.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that although the identity of the persons in the motorcade is unknown, eyewitnesses said that the attack destroyed one of the bullet-proof civilian cars and one of the Iraqi puppet army vehicles as well.

After the attack, Iraqi puppet forces backed up by American troops surrounded the scene. Helicopters arrived as well further suggesting that the persons in the motorcade had been of some importance.

Al-Mushahadah.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet army convoy.

In a dispatch posted at 12:20m Mecca time midday Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an Iraqi puppet army convoy on the road to al-Mushahadah north of the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road exploded, disabling a truck carrying military supplies for the puppet army forces. The blast killed one truck driver and wounded a second.

Ad-Dujayl.

Resistance bomb wounds US troops north of ad-Dujayl.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US military column north of ad-Dujayl on the main road to Balad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ad-Dujayl as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road blew up as a column of several US Humvees and Bradley armored vehicles was driving past. The explsion disabled one of the Bradleys, wounding four Americans who were aboard it.

Babil Province.

Al-Latifiyah.

Resistance bombards puppet “National Guard” base in al-Latifiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 1pm Mecca time Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired eight mortar rounds into the headquarters of the Iraqi puppet “National Guards” in al-Latifiyah, south of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-Latifiyah as saying that the shells all blasted into the base, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

Diyala Province.

Ba‘qubah.

Resistance bomb kills two US troops in Ba‘qubah Thursday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 5:20pm Mecca time Thursday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US military patrol in the ash-Shurtah neighborhood in the middle of Ba‘qubah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a spokesman for the Iraqi puppet police in Ba‘qubah as saying that on Thursday morning an Iraqi Resistance bomb that had been planted in a sewer opening in the middle of the street blew up by a US Humvee. The spokesman said that the explosion killed two American Marines and wounded a third.

An owner of a nearby shop who witnessed the attack confirmed to Mafkarat al-Islam that two Marines were killed and one other wounded in the bombing, all of them in one vehicle.

Two US troops reported killed in bombing north of Ba‘qubah.

In a dispatch posted at 1:40pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US column in the as-Sadah area, some 5km north of Ba‘qubah on the road to al-Miqdadiyah

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of as-Sadah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road to al-Miqdadiyah blew up as a US column was driving past. The explosion disabled one American Humvee and killed two US troops and wounded a third.

At-Ta’mim Province.

Kirkuk.

Resistance ambushes puppet police south of Kirkuk.

In a dispatch posted at 2pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters equipped with light and medium arms ambushed a puppet police patrol in the Tazah area, south of Kirkuk.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the area as saying that the Resistance fighters attacked the puppet police column as it was driving along a side street in the southern part of the area. The attack inflicted heavy damage to the patrol vehicles and left one puppet policeman dead and three others wounded. The Resistance fighters then withdrew from the area.

Ninwa Province.

Tall ‘Afar.

Resistance assassinates pro-American Badr Brigade commander in Tall ‘Afar early Thursday.

Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with machineguns attacked a band of pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade militiamen on the road between Mosul and Tall ‘Afar on Thursday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that the Resistance fighters attacked a car carrying Abu Talib al-‘Izzi, a Badr Brigade commander in Tall ‘Afar, and three of his companions. The Badr Brigade gunmen were on their way to the city in a Toyota patrol vehicle at 9am local time when the attack occurred. All four were killed in the attack and their bodies dispatched to Mosul General Hospital.
