Cheney taken to hospital

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney was taken to a Washington hospital early on Monday, suffering from shortness of breath, CNN reported.

The vice president was taken to George Washington University Hospital around 3 a.m. (0800 GMT), the cable news channel reported.

Doctors administered an electrocardiogram, CNN said. The vice president was reportedly retaining fluid as a result of anti-inflammatory medication. He is expected to return home later today, CNN said.
