Al-Fallujah.

Two US troops reported killed in evening bombing in al-Fallujah.

In a bulletin posted at 5:40pm Mecca time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US military column in the middle of al-Fallujah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road near the city’s water pumping station blew up leaving two US soldiers dead and two more of them wounded.

At the time of reporting, American troops were surrounding the area and closing 40 Street, the main street in the middle of al-Fallujah.

Resistance bombards US base east of al-Fallujah for eighth time this week.

Iraqi Resistance forces unleashed their eighth mortar barrage on the US military camp in the east of al-Fallujah at 7am local time Friday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that six mortar rounds had blasted into the American base in the east of al-Fallujah, sending clouds of smoke billowing into the sky over the facility. Afterwards, swarms of American helicopters could be seen aloft over the area.

Abu Ghurayb.

Kuwait regime coordinates with US occupation in Iraq to return escapees to notorious Abu Ghurayb torture prison.

Three Iraqis being held prisoner in the notorious American Abu Ghurayb prison camp some 30km west of Baghdad managed to escape on Wednesday, according to a report carried by the Saudi newspaper ar-Riyad on Friday, 6 January.

Ar-Riyad reported that the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry had declared a security alert after hearing that the three Iraqis might attempt to cross into Kuwaiti territory. The three Iraqi men, all of whom were charged with having taken part in the Iraqi Resistance to the US occupation, were said to be ‘Abd al-Karim Jasim, 42 years old; Tahiyah Su‘ud, 30; and Iyyad Yahya, 22. The Kuwaiti ministry distributed pictures of the three Iraqis to all border posts to try to prevent the three men from escaping the US and Iraqi puppet authorities, well known for their torture techniques in Abu Ghurayb.

A security source in Kuwait told ar-Riyad that “there is currently coordination between Kuwaiti authorities and the coalition forces meaning the US military occupation in Iraq to apprehend the wanted men if they try to enter Kuwaiti territory.”

Baghdad.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet “Shock Troops” in az-Za‘faraniyah Friday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a patrol of the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops” in southern Baghdad’s az-Za‘faraniyah section at 3:30pm local time Friday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported puppet police commissioner ‘Ali Salman of the puppet police station in az-Za‘faraniyah as saying that the explosion destroyed one Nissan patrol vehicle, killing one member of the patrol and wounding four more of them.

Resistance car bomb blasts US column.

In a dispatch posted at 4:40pm Mecca time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb had exploded by a US military column on the road that runs from Baghdad north to Tikrit.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet Iraqi Army who asked not to be identified said that the Resistance car bomb, which had been parked by the side of a road, was detonated by remote control. The explosion destroyed one American Humvee, killing all aboard.

The Iraqi satellite TV propaganda channel broadcast a different account of the bombing, saying that a fida’i fighter had been at the wheel of the car.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported seeing the Humvee on fire but was unable to determine whether the US troops who had been in the vehicle had been extracted or not.

Resistance car bomber blasts US column in ad-Durah.

In a dispatch posted at 12:12pm Mecca time Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter had driven an explosives-laden car into a column of US occupation troops in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance fighter had driven a white Supra car into the midst of an American column opposite the Sukkaniya car sales lot, which the Americans have taken over and turned into one of their bases. The witnesses said that the blast left one American vehicle completely engulfed in flames and left another heavily damaged and stuck in the road. At the time of reporting, US troops were closing off the entire area, preventing anyone approaching, and making it impossible for the correspondent to ascertain the nature or extent of casualties.

Mortar rounds land around home of former US-appointed “Prime Minister.”

In a bulletin posted at 5:50pm Mecca time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two medium-caliber mortar rounds had landed on the house of Iyyad ‘Allawi, the former US-appointed puppet “Prime Minister” of Iraq.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that the barrage on the house located on az-Zaytunah street inflicted no casualties.

Mortar shells strike area of ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani (Sunni) Mosque but cause no casualties.

In a dispatch posted at12:50pm Mecca time Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that four mortar rounds had blasted a short while earlier into a Sunni mosque in Baghdad.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that four heavy-caliber mortar rounds had slammed into the mosque of ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani in the mideel of Baghdad as it was crowded with worshippers gathered for Friday congregational prayers.

The correspondent reported that the despite the crowds, the shells landed in the rear courtyard of the mosque and the garden on the side of the building, inflicting no casualties. Shaykh Abu Bakr as-Samarra’i, the Imam of the mosque, told the correspondent that only minor damage had been done and all the worshippers were unharmed.

Bodies of 10 Sunnis found dumped in Baghdad’s ash-Shu‘lah district.

In a dispatch posted at 1:40pm Mecca time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet police forces had discovered ten bodies of Sunni Iraqis in the predominantly Shi‘i Baghdad area of Madinat ash-Shu‘lah on Friday morning. The correspondent reported that ash-Shu‘lah was regarded as a stronghold of support for the Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades.

The bodies of the dead Sunnis were found bound and blindfolded and shot in the head, as was the case in numerous other discoveries of murdered Sunnis.

On Wednesday, the Iraqi puppet police discovered a mass grave of 21 Iraqi Sunnis in south Baghdad. They were presumed killed by the Badr Brigades after having been arrested from their homes the night before.

Fifteen Iranians killed or injured in Thursday bombing in Karbala’.

In a dispatch posted at 1:20pm Mecca time Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source in Karbala’ as saying that the bomb that exploded near a Shi‘i shrine in the city on Thursday had killed or injured 15 Iranians.

Dr. ‘Ali Husayn of Karbala’ Hospital told Mafkarat al-Islam that three Iranians had been killed in the blast and 12 others wounded. All of the injured Iranians are in extremely grave condition, the doctor reported.

Al-Basrah Province.

Al-Faw Peninsula.

Resistance bombards British base on al-Faw Peninsula.

In a dispatch posted at pm Mecca time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance had fired four Grad rockets into the British military base in the town of al-Faw near the Iraq-Iran border southeast of al-Basrah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Lieutenant Colonel ‘Ali ‘Uwayd an-Nasiri, spokesman for the puppet border forces, as saying that four Grad rockets had blasted into the British camp on the al-Faw Peninsula at dawn on Friday.

An-Nasiri said that there had been several wounded in the attack and that damage had also been done to the British headquarters, but he declined to give any further details.

British Foreign Minister Jack Straw visits al-Basrah.

In a dispatch posted at 6:30pm Mecca time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a spokesman for the British embassy in Iraq had announced that the British Foreign Minister Jack Straw paid a surprise visit to the city of al-Basrah in southern Iraq on Friday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a report carried by the Jang Group as saying that a British diplomatic spokesman had announced that Straw, who just completed a visit to Lebanon, was expected to make an assessment of the situation on the ground in the south of Iraq after the “elections” staged by the US occupation on 15 December 2005.
