Iraqi Resistance fighters bring down US helicopter near ar-Rutbah.

Iraqi Resistance fighters unleashed intensive machinegun fire on a US helicopter in the area of ar-Rutbah, near the Jordanian border in western Iraq, forcing it to make an emergency landing at 6am local time Friday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the American helicopter had been flying at low altitude doing reconnaissance of the area when the Resistance fighters opened fire on it with their machineguns. The aircraft reeled in the sky before coming to earth near the American R6 camp south of ar-Rutbah. There was no word on the fate of the crew or the nature or extent of casualties, if any.

Ar-Ramadi.

Intermittent fighting rages in western ar-Ramadi.

In a bulletin posted at 2:40pm Mecca time Friday afternoon, the ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that intermittent clashes were going on at the time of reporting between US occupation troops and Iraqi Resistance fighters in the ad-Dubbat neighborhood in the west of the city.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that it was impossible to get near the scene of the fighting.

Resistance ambushes Iraqi puppet army patrol, destroying puppet army tank.

In a dispatch posted at 11:10am Mecca time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had attacked a column of the Iraqi puppet army in the al-Mal‘ab (playing field) area of ar-Ramadi, some 110km west of Baghdad.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported eyewitnesses as saying that an Iraqi puppet army MB5 Belgian-made tank was destroyed in the attack, when Resistance fighters fired an RPG7 rocket-propelled grenade at it. A Jeep belonging to the Iraqi puppet regime troops was also demolished. The witnesses said that at least six Iraqi puppet soldiers were killed and more than 10 more of them wounded in the attack.

After the attack, US occupation troops arrived on the scene and, together with the Iraqi puppet army troops surrounded the entire area.

Resistance bombards US military headquarters in ar-Ramadi.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired 13 medium-caliber and heavy mortar rounds into the al-Anbar Provincial Government building, which the US occupation forces have taken over and turned into one of their headquarters, in the middle of ar-Ramadi at 2am local time Friday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported eyewitnesses as saying that the shells blasted into the building, sending fire and smoke rising over the rear courtyard of the facility. No details on the nature or extent of casualties were available, but helicopters could be seen hovering over the building and one of them then landed on the roof of the headquarters after the end of the barrage.

Abu Ghurayb.

Resistance land mine reportedly kills US soldier north of Abu Ghurayb.

In a dispatch posted at 2:50pm Mecca time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance land mine had exploded by a US foot patrol in the as-Samilat area north of Abu Ghurayb, some 30km west of Baghdad.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Abu Ghurayb reported Captain ‘Uday Kamil of he local puppet police as saying that a mine that had been planted beside the dirt road leading to the agricultural aqueduct exploded by the American patrol, killing one American soldier instantly and slightly wounding a second.

The correspondent reported that after the attack there were a number of US military vehicles parked at the scene where the Americans were searching the road for more possible land mines.

Baghdad.

Resistance shells “Green Zone” with mortars.
In a dispatch posted at 5:35pm Mecca time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short time earlier Iraqi Resistance forces had fired four mortar rounds into the area around the Republican Palace in central Baghdad ﾐ the district dubbed the “Green Zone” by the Americans, where they have located their embassy and the headquarters of the puppet Iraqi regime.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Baghdad reported that four 82mm mortar rounds blasted into various parts of the zone, inflicting material damage and sending clouds of thick, white smoke rising into the sky by the side of the Tirkis River where the southern part of the “Green Zone” is located.

Bodies of four puppet “Shock Troops” found in Baghdad’s al-Kazimiyah early Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:50pm Mecca time Friday afternon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi puppet police had discovered four bodies belonging to puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops” in Baghdad’s northern al-Kazimiyah district early Friday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Baghdad reported Captain Sayf Sami of the Iraqi puppet police as saying that the names of two of the dead were determined from the bodies and they will be handed over to their families for burial. The other two were too badly mauled to be identified, the source claimed.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Tikrit.

Resistance forces attack Iraqi puppet army patrol south of Tikrit.

Iraqi Resistance forces opened fire on an Iraqi puppet army patrol on a road to the south of Tirkit, al-Jazeera satellite TV reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying.

Al-Jazeera repoted that the Resistance attack left one Iraqi puppet soldier dead.

Diyala Province.

Ba‘qubah.

Resistance bomb blasts Iraqi puppet army troops in Ba‘qubah.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet army patrol in the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood in the middle of Ba‘qubah, northeast of Baghdad at 3pm local time Friday afternoon.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Ba‘qubah reported a statement issued by the Iraqi puppet forces as saying that the blast had killed four Iraqi puppet troops and wounded a fifth.

Ninwa Province.

Al-Ba‘aj.

Four US troops reported killed in car bomb attack in the northwestern Iraqi city of al-Ba‘aj.

In a dispatch posted at11:30am Mecca time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an explosives-packed car blew up by a US patrol in al-Ba‘aj, southwest of Mosul near the Syrian border in northern Iraq.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported eyewitnesses as saying that the car bomb, which had been partked by the side of the road to Mosul, blew up, destroying a Humvee and killing four US troops aboard it instantly. The witnesses said that a second Humvee was disabled by the blast. After the attack, American troops surrounded the area and closed the road as they evacuated the dead and wounded.

Tall ‘Afar.

US, Iraqi puppet troops encircle Sunni mosque in Tall ‘Afar to identify and arrest people speaking out against occupation.

In a dispatch posted at 1:55pm Mecca time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that on Friday morning US and Iraqi puppet army troops had deployed around a Sunni mosque in Tall ‘Afar, west of Mosul in northern Iraq.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that the operation was “precautionary” because the occupation forces had received word that religious leaders in the mosque had been “inciting” against the Americans and the puppet forces. The source said that the mosque was encircled so as to allow the Americans and the Iraqi puppet troops to determine the identities of those speaking out against the occupation so that they “and all those opposed to freedom” could be arrested, as the puppet army source put it.

It is the regular US practice to encircle mosques on Fridays and monitor sermons delivered by preachers. If the religious leaders begin to denounce the US occupation, troops storm in and arrest the speaker and leading members of the congregation.

Al-Basrah Province.

Resistance bomb reportedly kills two British troops in al-Basrah.

In a dispatch posted at 3:45pm Mecca time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded near a British column in the al-Tuwaysah area in the middle of al-Basrah in southern Iraq.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Basrah reported eyewitnesses as saying that a British vehicle was severely damaged in the explosion, adding, on the authority of Iraqi puppet troops who were on the scene of the blast, that the explosion also killed two British troops and wounding two more.

After the attack, British troops surrounded the whole area, preventing the journalists who had gathered at the scene after they heard the blast, from approaching.
