In an effort to reduce US casualties in al-Fallujah, the American occupation forces’ commander in the city, a Captain Carl Bernad, has ordered that American vehicles such as Humvees should each carry a maximum of three soldiers. Only in cases of dire necessity should more troops travel in one vehicle at the same time, according to a scheme reported by a translator for US troops in al-Fallujah.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported the translator as saying that although US armored vehicles are designed to take five soldiers, the numerous Resistance attacks with bombs, land mines, and shoulder-fired rocket launchers have prompted the American command to limit the number of Marines per vehicle in the hopes that this would cut the number of casualties per explosion.

At-Ta’i said in a statement to Mafkarat al-Islam that 32 persons had been arrested in November on charges of involvement in those Resistance operations and they are still being investigated in the US base east of the city. He said, however, that extensive security operations against previously-designated targets would be carried out in al-Fallujah before the next US-sponsored round of “elections” set for 15 December.
