Al-Anbar Province.

Iraq-Syrian border.

In a bulletin posted at 6:50pm Mecca time Thursday night, Mafakrat al-Islam reported that at the time of writing a battle was underway between US occupation forces and Arab fighters in the Iraqi Resistance armed with light and medium weapons in the “no-man’s land” between the Iraqi and Syrian border.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that more than 50 Arab Resistance fighters were engaged in combat with American Marines of the 5th Division. As of the time of reporting, more than 12 Marine occupation soldiers had been killed or wounded in the battle, which was still underway. An unknown number of Resistance fighters had also been killed.

A significant number of the Resistance fighters had managed to cross the border towards a nearby Iraqi city, despite the combat, while another group of the fighters continued to battle the American occupation troops.

Ar-Ramadi.

US helicopter rockets civilian house in response to Resistance attack, killing family of five.

In a bulletin posted at 3:15pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had attacked a US helicopter that was hovering at low altitude over the as-Sufiyah area north of the city, striking it with several medium gunshots in the fore part of the aircraft and causing it to emit black smoke. The American helicopter did not crash, however.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that another helicopter that had been hovering together with the one that came under attack fired a rocket at a house near the Resistance position. The American rocket blasted a house, however, and killed five civilians ﾐ three children and a man and his wife. All were taken to ar-Ramadi Hospital by their neighbors with the help of Resistance fighters.

Al-Hadithah.

Four civilians killed in US dawn attack on house northeast of al-Hadithah.

US occupation warplanes rocketed a house northeast of the city of al-Hadithah in western Iraq at dawn on Thursday, killing four Iraqis and wounding five more.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported the Director of al-Hadithah Hosptial as saying that a rocket blasted a peaceful home, killing four and wounding five people instantly. Killed were a girl, a woman and two men, the Director said.

For their part, the US military claimed that the house they had attacked had been a “refuge for terrorists.”

Al-Fallujah.

US soldier reported killed in bombing near al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 1:10pm Mecca time Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by US troops by the side of the main road in the city of al-Fallujah early Thursday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported First Lieutenant Yasir Jabbar of the puppet “Iraqi Order Protection Forces” as saying that three US troops were wounded in the blast but none were killed. Eyewitnesses told the correspondent, however, that the Americans had carried away one of the three Americans dead. They packed his body in one of the well-known black body bags, the witnesses told the correspondent.

Resistance bombards US positions in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah Wednesday evening after US forces evict families and blow up homes of “wanted men.”

Iraqi Resistance forces launched a number of mortar and rocket attacks on headquarters of US forces in the ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah area, south of the city of al-Fallujah, from 2pm until about 8pm Wednesday night.

The Mafakrat al-Islam correspondent reported eyewitnesses as saying that from 2pm until about 2:30pm Wednesday afternoon, Resistance fighters fired six mortar shells and Katyusha rockets at houses that US troops had taken as billets or headquarters. The Resistance also fired four mortar rounds and two Katyusha rockets into the al-‘Amir Works, a facility that the American forces have also taken over and turned into one of their headquarters.

Then from 7pm until 8pm the Resistance bombarded the same houses, firing six mortar shells into them.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent was unable to ascertain the precise nature or extent of casualties because of the difficulty of approaching the area. It appeared, however, that the bombardment came in response to extensive American raids in the nearby al-Harimat area where the occupation forces, copying Zionist occupation tactics in Palestine, evicted a number of families and blew up their houses, saying that they were the residences of “wanted men.”

Babil Province.

Al-Mahmudiyah.

Car bomb blasts two US military vehicles, also kills a reported 30 Iraqis by hospital Thursday morning.

A car bomb exploded near the al-Mahmudiyah hospital where every day patients and their relatives gather.

A source in the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry” told Quds Press that the number of people killed in the bombing stood at 30, with another 23 wounded but that the number was likely to rise.

Quds Press reported that a car bomb exploded on Thursday morning, apparently targeted on a US military patrol. The blast destroyed two US military vehicles. American military losses were unknown.

US forces rob house, arrest man, four sons in al-Mahmudiyah.

US occupation forces at noon, local time, on Thursday, arrested four Iraqi residents of al-Mahmudiyah on charges of “attacking US occupation forces”.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the wife of one of the local residents who was arrested said that the Americans had arrested her husband Muhammad Kamal and her three sons Abu Bakr, Ahmad and ‘Ubaydah, on charges that they had taken part in operations against the occupation. She said that she was not told where they were being held.

The wife added that the Americans who arrested her husband and sons also stole 4 million Iraqi Dinars and a quantity of jewelry and gold from their home.

Al-Latifiyah.

Bloody Marine clothing found at site of abandoned US military camp.

Residents of the city of al-Latifiyah, south of Baghdad, found three American Marine helmets and a bullet-proof vest as well as American military clothing all stained with blood near one of the former American camps located by the old bridge.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Latifiyah reported residents of the area as saying that the helmets and clothing were handed over to Iraqi Resistance forces in case they can make use of them.

Witnesses said that the bloodstained clothing was probably several weeks old. No body was found with the clothing.

The correspondent noted that the now-abandoned American camp had come under repeated Resistance attack, the last one shortly before 15 October.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Ad-Dulu‘iyah.

US aircraft destroy 1,000-year-old Iraqi palace with rockets Wednesday.

US warplanes rocketed a historic palace dating from the time of the Abbasi Caliphate 750-1258 C.E.) in the area of ad-Dulu‘iyah, north of Baghdad and some 90km from Tikrit on Wednesday.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the Americans bombed the palace, which is over 1,000 years old, on the pretext that it had been used by Iraqi Resistance forces. The correspondent reported that the palace, which has an area of more than 2,000 square meters was totally destroyed and razed to the ground by the four rockets fired by the American fighter plane.

After the American attack, local people gathered around the site to try to salvage what could be saved from inside the palace ﾐ materials and historic artifacts ﾐ as they expressed their outrage and anger over what they regarded as a grave American crime.

Mafkarat al-Islam noted that in the Battle of Samarra’ at the beginning of this year blew up a historic minaret built by the Abbasi Caliph al-Mu‘tasim bi-llah, and also destroyed the first Abbasi palace built by Abu al-‘Abbas as-Saffah in the as-Saqlawiyah area north of al-Fallujah.

Tikrit.

Resistance pounds US “Anaconda” base Wednesday night.

Iraqi Resistance forces five Katyusha rockets into a US base located in the Yathrib area north of Tikrit on Wednesday night.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the city reported eyewitnesses who live near the American facility as saying that the Marine base that the Americans call “the Anaconda” was struck by rockets, setting fires and sending tongues of flame and clouds of black smoke rising into the sky.

US forces, for their part, fired several artillery shells in response to the Resistance bombardment, setting fire to a date palm grove adjacent to the river.

Diyala Province.

Al-Mundhiriyah.

Resistance sharpshooter kills US Marine near Iranian border.

In a dispatch posted at 1:10pm Mecca time Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US Marine in the al-Mundhiriyah area on the Iranian border on Thursday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the area reported eyewitnesses as saying that a US patrol had halted in the eastern arch of the city when a sharpshooter’s bullet struck one of the American Marines directly in the face, killing him instantly.

An Iraqi working for the Americans as a translator confirmed the death of the American soldier, adding that after the attack, US troops raided and searched the area nearby, particularly all the tall buildings but found no sign of the Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter.

Ba‘qubah.

Resistance car bomb blasts US column in Ba‘qubah midday Thursday.

In a bulletin posted at 1:20pm Mecca time Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb had exploded by a US military column in Ba‘qubah, northeast of Baghdad.

The Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an explosives-packed car that had been planted by the side of the road to Kharnabat near the center of the city blew up by a column of four American Humvees, setting fire to one of them. The correspondent reported that US forces, including those who survived the attack, surrounded the area at a distance of about 1km from the blast. One of the American vehicles could be seen on fire in the attack zone.

At-Ta’mim Province.

Kirkuk.

Resistance pounds US base in Kirkuk Airport.

In a dispatch posted at 6:15pm Mecca time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had mounted a fierce barrage, firing 11 mortar rounds and four Katyusha rockets, into Kirkuk International Airport, a facility that the Americans have turned into their main base in the northern Iraqi city.

The Kirkuk correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that explosions shook the whole city and clouds of smoke could be seen billowing up over the American-occupied facility as sirens wailed inside the base.

The correspondent received official confirmation from the Director of Intelligence of the Kirkuk puppet police that 23 American and Iraqi puppet troops, members of a joint unit, had been killed or wounded in the attack, which lasted about half an hour. The source described the bombardment as the fiercest in four months.
