Hit.

Resistance shoots down US helicopter.

In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before Iraqi Resistance forces had shot down an American helicopter west of Hit.

The Mafakrat al-Islam correspondent reported eyewitnesses as saying that the helicopter was completely wrecked and on fire from one side. A large contingent of US Marines surrounded the crash site where a second helicopter emblazoned with the red cross landed apparently to evacuate the dead or wounded. The area west of Hit on the way to al-Hadithah was blocked and US armored vehicles and tanks deployed to search for those who shot down the aircraft.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance bombards joint US-Iraqi puppet army camp.

In a dispatch posted at 10:40am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had fired six 82mm mortar rounds into the joint US-Iraqi puppet army camp on the main road to the provincial government building in ar-Ramadi.

Eyewitnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that four of the shells blasted directly into the camp, sending an American sniper who had been posted atop a roof on a building on the base plummeting to the ground. US forces then opened fire indiscriminately, preventing the correspondent from obtaining any more detailed information.

Abu Ghurayb.

Resistance bombards US camp in Abu Ghurayb early Thursday.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired four heavy 120mm mortar rounds on the US military headquarters in Abu Ghurayb, 30km west of Baghdad, at 8am local time Thursday morning.

The Abu Ghurayb correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the shells scored direct hits on the US camp, setting off explosions and sending clouds of smoke billowing into the sky.

Baghdad.

Resistance ambushes US-Iraqi joint patrol in ad-Durah.

In a dispatch posted at 5:15pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet army patrol on the main road to the Hur Rajab area south of the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Baghdad reported residents of ad-Durah as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the patrol, sparking a 15-minute firefight in which two vehicles ﾐ a US Humvee and an Iraqi puppet army troop transport were disabled.

The intense gunfire made it impossible for the correspondent to ascertain information regarding casualties.

Resistance bomb leaves US soldier reported dead late Thursday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 11:25am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an American patrol in the al-‘Amiriyah section of western Baghdad.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-‘Amiriyah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road to Abu Ghurayb blew up by a patrol of four US Humvees.

The explosion disabled one US vehicle, killing one American soldier and wounding three more US troops.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet police in al-Bayya‘.

In a dispatch posted at 10:15am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an Iraqi puppet police patrol in the al-Bayya‘ district of southwest Baghdad on the road to the ash-Shurtah al-Khamisah neighborhood in the south of al-Bayya‘.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Baghdad reported residents of al-Bayya‘ as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road to ash-Shurtah al-Khamisah blew up as a puppet police patrol was passing. The explosion heavily damaged one puppet police vehicle and killed two puppet policemen, one of them a Lieutenant. Two more puppet policemen were wounded in the attack, witnesses said.

Tikrit.

Resistance bomb blasts US column in Tikrit.

In a dispatch posted at 6:20pm Mecca time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an American patrol of several Humvees and Bradley armored vehicles in the middle of Tikrit.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb exploded by the passing patrol disabling one American vehicle and severely wounding four US soldiers.

Al-Mushahadah.

Resistance bomb blasts US column Thursday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the road to the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji at 9am local time Thursday morning.

The residents of al-Mushahadah told Mafkarat al-Islam that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in al-Mushahadah blew up as a US column of several troop transport vehicles and Bradly armored vehicles drove past.

The correspondent reported that the blast disabled one troop transport, wounding four American troops, one of them extremely severely.

Al-Yusufiyah.

US soldier reported killed in bomb blast south of al-Yusufiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 5:10pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an American column south of al-Yusufiyah, which is located south of Baghdad.

The al-Yusufiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the highway near Kilometer 37 on the way to al-Mahmudiyah blew up when a column of five US Humvees drove past. The explosion disabled one American vehicle and killed one US soldier and wounded three others.

Al-Musayyib.

Resistance car bomber blasts puppet army column early Thursday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into an Iraqi puppet army column on the road to Baghdad at about 6am Thursday morning, local time.

The al-Musayyib correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a Resistance fighter detonated his car bomb as an Iraqi puppet army drove past on the road north to Baghdad. The blast destroyed a Zeal personnel carrier, killing six Iraqi puppet troops and seriously wounding four more.

Al-Hillah.

Resistance bomb kills four Badr Brigade gunmen in al-Hillah.

In a dispatch posted at 7:20pm Mecca time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a car carrying a group of pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade gunmen in al-Hillah.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of al-Jabbawiyin Road in the middle of al-Hillah blew up killing four members of the sectarian Badr Brigade, one of them ‘Abd ar-Ridan Hanun, a religious Murshid (guide) in the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution of Iraq (SCIRI).

The Badr Brigades are the armed wing of the SCIRI, who invaded Iraq together with US forces in spring 2003 and have since formed the backbone of security forces serving the American occupation in much of the country.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that one civilian was also killed and a second wounded in the attack. Noth had been walking along the road at the time of the bombing.

Diyala Province.

Al-Mada’in.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet police patrol in al-Mada’in.

In a dispatch posted at 5pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an Iraqi puppet army patrol on the road to Salman Bak southeast of Baghdad.

The Mafakrat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of al-Mada’in who witnessed the bombing as saying that an explosive device that had been planted by the side of the road blew up as an Iraqi puppet police patrol drove past, completely destroying one police vehicle and killing three puppet policemen and wounding two more.

Ninwa Province.

Tall ‘Afar.

Resistance bomb disguised as cooking gas cylinder rips through US foot patrol in Tall ‘Afar.

In a dispatch posted at 7:30pm Mecca time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an American foot patrol in the middle of the northern Iraqi city of Tall ‘Afar.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported a source in the puppet “Iraqi National Guard,” who was near the scene of the attack when it occurred, as saying that the Iraqi Resistance had created a bomb by packing a cooking gas cylinder with more than 6kg of explosives. Thus disguised, the bomb was placed by the side of the road and exploded when a foot patrol of 12 US soldiers was walking past. The explosion killed or wounded a number of the American troops.

After the attack, US forces surrounded the area and evacuated the dead and wounded American personnel.

Mosul.

Two Resistance bombs blast Iraqi puppet police forces.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had mounted two attacks on Iraqi puppet forces in Mosul.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the city reported local residents as saying that Resistance fighters armed with machineguns and medium weapons attacked an Iraqi puppet police check pointing the al-Muthanna section of central Mosul. Three puppet policemen were killed and two more wounded in the attack.

Resistance forces attacked a second puppet police patrol in the al-Kafa’at area of central Mosul, with light and medium weapons. They were able to destroy one police vehicle, killing or wounding five puppet policeman.

Al-Basrah Province.

Resistance bomb explodes inside Danish occupation forces’ camp in al-Basrah.

In a dispatch posted at 7:40pm Mecca time Thursday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded inside the Danish occupation forces’ camp in the southern Iraqi city of al-Basrah.

The Qatari News Agency (QANA) reported s spokesman for the Danish occupation troops as saying that three Danish troops were wounded when they tried to disarma bmob inside their camp in the city.

Resistance bomb targets British troops in pre-dawn hours of Thursday.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by British forces near a puppet police station in al-Basrah at 3am local time Thursday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Basrah reported First Lieutenant Karim Hadhud of the British-supervised Rescue Police as saying that a bomb that had been planted some 250 meters from a puppet police station blew up, killing or wounding four British occupation troops.

The British military acknowledged the attack by made no mention of details.
