Four US troops reported shot and killed by Resistance sharp shooters near al-Qa’im.

Iraqi Resistance marksmen shot and killed four US soldiers in separate attacks in al-Qa’im on Tuesday.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Qa’im, located near the Syrian border with Iraq, reported eyewitnesses who live in the city as saying that an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter killed two US troops who were taking part in a foot patrol near the Sa‘dah area east of al-Qa’im.

The witnesses said that US forces launched raids and house-to-house searches of the area near where the shooting took place, but found nothing.

Meanwhile Resistance sharpshooters shot and killed two other US troops in the area lf al-‘Ubaydi northeast of al-Qa’im less than an hour after the earlier attack. Witnesses of the attack told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Americans were taking part in a patrol mad up of four Humvees that was driving aong the main road in al-‘Ubaydi at the time of the attack. The Americans who were killed had been standing aboard Humvees enabling the Resistance sharp shooters to pick them off and kill them.

In his dispatch posted at 11:30am Tuesday morning, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that swarms of US helicopters had flown into the area as US forces on the ground carried out intensive raids and searches of houses and businesses in the various parts of the al-‘Ubaydi area looking for Resistance fighters and sharpshooters.

Ar-Ramadi.

US soldier reported killed in early morning bombing northwest of ar-Ramadi.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US column in the al-Bu Farraj area northwest of ar-Ramadi at 7am local time Tuesday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of al-Bu Farraj village as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road leading to the US al-Warrar base west of ar-Ramadi blew up as a patrol of three armored vehicles and three Humvees drove past. The blast disabled one of the armored vehicles, killing one US soldier and wounding three more of them.

Resistance ambushes US column Monday night.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US military column near the ar-Ramadi city market in western Iraq at 11pm Monday night.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in ar-Ramadi reported local eye-witnesses as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons and pipe rockets ambushed an American column of several armored vehicles after first detonating a bomb beside the column as it drove down the road to the popular market in the middle of the city.

The blast disabled one of the American armored vehicles and set fire to a second one. No specific information on the nature or extent of casualties was available to the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent due to the heavy gunfire in the area and the fact that the curfew was in force at the time of the ambush.

Baghdad.

Badr Brigade accused in murder of family of nine at dinner in Baghdad Tuesday evening.

Members of the Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades reportedly murdered a Sunni family of nine over their dinner table in Baghdad’s al-Ghazaliyah district Tuesday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 10:25pm Mecca time Tuesday night, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Ghazaliyah district of northwestern Baghdad reported crowds of people gathered outside the door of the home of al-Hajj Zayd al-‘Ani said that armed men wearing Iraqi puppet police uniforms attacked Zayd al-‘Ani’s house just after sunset when the streets were empty as people gathered for the evening meal, breaking their Ramadan fast.

The Badr Brigade men, who form the backbone of the puppet police and other security services backing the US occupation in Iraq, stormed into the al-‘Ani family home and killed nine members of the family: al-Hajj Zayd al-‘Ani, four girls, their mother, two youths, and an elderly man, the father of al-Hajj Zayd. The bodies of all nine were found still gathered around their iftar (meal for breaking the fast) table, some of them slumped over the food plates.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported neighbors of the family as saying that the Iraqi puppet police, who were called to the scene after the bodies were discovered, claimed to have no knowledge of a police raid on the home and denied that one of their patrols had carried out the mass killing.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the people of the predominantly Sunni neighborhood were accusing the Badr Brigades of the crime, since that organization had committed similar murders in various parts of Baghdad, targeting prominent members of the Sunni community.

The correspondent noted that al-Hajj Zayd al-‘Ani was author of the book on Islamic education that is used as a syllabus in primary schools in Iraq,

Resistance mounts attacks on Iraqi puppet regime targets in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 3:20pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces staged a series of attacks on various targets in Baghdad and the surrounding areas on Tuesday.

In one attack, an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into an Iraqi puppet army patrol on the main road in the al-‘Amiriyah area of western Baghdad, blowing up in the middle of the patrol and destroying 3 vehicles belonging to the puppet army. Twenty-five Iraqi puppet army soldiers were killed and 20 more wounded in the attack, some of them seriously Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying.

In a separate attack, another Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a patrol of the Iraqi regime’s puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troops” on at-Tu‘mah Street in the middle of the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah. That blast destroyed one vehicle belonging to the “Shock Troops,” and killed nine “Shock Troop” personnel.

In a third attack, Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons ambushed a patrol of the Iraqi puppet army in the Baghdad al-Jadidah area in the eastern part of the Iraqi capital, killing seven Iraqi puppet troops, Mafkarat al-Islam reported.

Resistance bombards “green zone” Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:05am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before, Iraqi Resistance forces had fired medium-range rockets, believe to be Grad missiles, into the Republican palace area in Baghdad, the area where the US has installed its embassy and military occupation headquarters, known to the Americans as the “green zone.”

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of the Abu Nuwas area, which lies adjacent to the “green zone” as saying that two of the rockets blasted into the middle of the “green zone,” producing violent explosions inside the zone and sending columns of smoke rising into the sky.

Resistance bomb blasts US column near al-Mushahada early Tuesday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column in the town of al-Mushahadah, north of Baghdad at about 8am local time.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of al-Mushahadah who witnessed the attack as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road to the northeast blew up as a patrol of four US Humvees and three trucks was driving past.

The explosion set one of the Humvees on fire, wounding three US troops, one of them very seriously, the correspondent reported.

Babil Province.

Al-Latifiyah.

Three foreign mercenaries killed in Resistance ambush south of Baghdad early Tuesday.

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a column of armor-plated vehicles of the type used by foreign mercenaries working with “security companies” under contract with the US occupation forces in al-Latifiyah at about 7am local time Tuesday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of al-Latifiyah as saying that the attack occurred on the road that runs south from Baghdad through al-Latifiyah. Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked and set fire to two of the armor-plated cars, killing three foreigners and wounding two more.

Afterwards, the Resistance fighters were able to withdraw from the area of the attack.

Al-Mahmudiyah ﾐ al-Yusufiyah.

Puppet regime forces arrest 70 people in sweeps south of Baghdad on Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 4:30pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troops” and “Rapid Deployment Forces” had carried out mass house raids and arrests in the cities of al-Mahmudiyah and al-Yusufiyah, south of Baghdad, rounding up about 70 Iraqi Sunni citizens.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Mahmudiyah as saying that the puppet regime troops surrounded several neighborhoods in their city, closing the main roads in the city. They then proceeded to raid and search local residents’ homes, arresting about 30 young Sunni residents of the city.

In al-Yusufiyah, Iraqi puppet regime forces, backed up by US occupation troops, closed off certain areas and made mass arrests of Sunni civilian residents, claiming that those people were “suspected” of making car bombs and other explosive devices that target US occupation forces and the Iraqi regime’s puppet troops. About 40 Sunni residents of al-Yusufiyah, ranging in age from 15 to 40 years were arrested and taken away.

Diyala Province.

Two Resistance bombs rip through US column north of Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 3:25pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded almost simultaneously beside a US military column on the road that links al-Khalis, north of Baghdad, with the town of al-‘Azim, further to the north in western Diyala Province.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Diyala reported eyewitnesses in al-Khalis as saying that the two bombs that had been planted by the side of the road blew up by a passing patrol of several American Humvees. The explosions destroyed two Humvees, killing or wounding seven US soldiers.

US forces, for their part, then surrounded the area where the blasts went off and closed the highway to the north. US Helicopters were observed landing in the area to haul away the wrecked vehicles, the bodies of the dead, and the wounded.

Resistance bomb blasts US column in eastern Mosul.

In a dispatch posted at 3:35pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a US armored column on the main road in the al-Hudaba’ neighborhood of eastern Mosul.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Mosul reported residents of al-Hudaba’ who witnessed the bombing as saying that an explosives-packed car that had been parked by the side of the main road in the area blew up as a column of several US armored vehicles drove past. The blast set one of the vehicles on fire, wounding three US troops who were aboard it.

Resistance bombards US base in Mosul at dawn Tuesday.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired three mortar rounds into the US al-Ghazlani military headquarters in Mosul at about 6am local time Tuesday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of Mosul who witnessed the attack as saying that the three shells blasted into the middle of the American headquarters setting off explosions and sending columns of smoke rising into the sky.

Irbil Province.

Irbil.

Powerful blast shakes south Korean occupation troops base in Irbil late Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 10:20pm Mecca time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a powerful explosion had shaken the south Korean occupation forces’ base in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil sending clouds of thick black smoke billowing into the sky and enveloping a wide area around the camp in its shade.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent who was on the scene near the south Korean occupation forces base, located 14km northeast of the city of Irbil reported that sirens wailed for about three minutes after the blast and a short while later American Apache helicopters were seen flying in over the base. Military vehicles belonging to the Kurdish separatist Peshmergah pro-American militia converged on the base.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that no precise information on the nature or extent of south Korean casualties was available due to the intense security ring that surrounds facility.
