Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Hadithah.
Iraqi puppet army spokesman acknowledges 17 Americans killed in operations along Euphrates River. Resistance takes decision to pull out of al-Hadithah to spare city residents American bombing, prepares to launch hit-and-run attacks.
In a dispatch posted at 9:30pm Mecca time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in the course of the latest US offensive in western Iraqi, nicknamed “river gate” ミ an offensive believed to be the biggest US attack on the Euphrates River valley area ミ the US is seeking to try to crush the Resistance to its occupation of the country.
Al-Jazeera satellite TV quoted an American statement that said that 2,500 US troops were involved in the “river gate” offensive, backed up by Iraqi puppet army troops. Al-Jazeera reported that this was in contrast to the American offensive in the al-Qa’im area, known as “iron fist,” in which American forces refused to let Iraqi puppet army troops take part, saying that they were not up to the necessary standard.
The current “river gate” operation is the tenth such major offensive launched by the Americans aimed at “wiping out” the Iraqi Resistance in western Iraq since 7 May this year.
The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces at 10am local time on Tuesday managed to take control of most parts of the area of al-Hadithah, al-Barwanah, and al-Haqlaniyah, other than some districts where intermittent fighting would break out from time to time.
The correspondent reported that the American advance into the city and its environs was greatly facilitated by the fact that the Iraqi Resistance had decided to avoid a head-on confrontation with the US forces and to withdraw from the city, in view of the massive US troop strength that the Americans were bringing into their area, backed up by hundreds of vehicles, helicopters, and fighter planes. Accordingly, the US forces had set up temporary encampments in a number of areas with the aim of taking control of the entrances and exits from those areas.
For its part the Iraqi Resistance announced that it would keep the city and its residents from suffering the destruction that the US occupation wanted to rain down on them. The Resistance noted that its command had decided to carry out hit-and-run operations against the occupation forces, while avoiding any direct confrontation. This, the Resistance said, was part of a military plan to protect the city from the suffering of war and the hatred of the occupation.
At a press conference convened in the al-Anbar Province government building in ar-Ramadi at about 5pm local time, a spokesman for the Iraqi puppet army announced that four occupation army vehicles were destroyed in clashes along the Euphrates River at midday Tuesday. The puppet army spokesman also acknowledged that two unmanned spy planes had been shot down over the western part of the city in the last 24 hours. The spokesman for the Iraqi puppet army said that 17 US soldiers had been killed and five others wounded. The spokesman denied that Iraqi puppet army troops had taken part in the operations because of what he called the “seriousness of the situation” there.
Three Resistance car bombers blast US troops in al-Hadithah as night falls Tuesday.
Iraqi Resistance forces mounted three attacks by fida’iyeen or martyrdom fighters on three positions occupied by US forces in central and northern al-Hadithah as the call to sunset prayer was resounding over the city Tuesday evening.
The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a resistance fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a military column in the north of al-Hadithah, killing or wounding eight American troops, according to residents of the area who witnessed the attack.
A second fida’i fighter drove an explosives-packed pickup into a group of US soldiers, injuring a number of them. The Americans opened fire on the fida’i as he drove towards them, blowing the car up some 10 meters away from their position, thus preventing any American deaths, sources in the Iraqi Resistance told Mafkarat al-Islam.
A third Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-packed vehicle into another gathering of US soldiers in al-Hadithah, killing three of them, according to a communiqu issued by the Iraqi Resisatance shortly afterward. The communiqu said that the fighter was a volunteer from Saudi Arabia.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that a Resistance fighter raced an explosives-packed car at very high speed into the checkpoint and blew up. US and Iraqi puppet army troops opened fire on the car as it rushed towards them but they failed to stop its rapid advance.
