Resistance shoots down Black Hawk helicopter, reportedly killing two US crewmen early Wednesday.

Iraqi Resistance forces shot down a US Black Hawk helicopter in the al-Bu ‘Ubayd area, 15km north of ar-Ramadi at 8:15am local time Wednesday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of the al-Bu ‘Ubayd area as saying that Resistance fighters fired a shoulder-launched surface-to-air missile at one of the US helicopter that was on a reconnaissance mission in the area, striking the aircraft and bringing it down immediately, killing the crew. Quds Press reported that the rocket set the helicopter on fire in the air, making the survival of the crew unlikely.

In his dispatch posted at 11:10am Mecca time Wednesday morning, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at the time of writing, US forces had surrounded the crash zone and were preventing local people from approaching the wrecked helicopter. Two other US helicopters were seen landing in the crash zone to evacuate the bodies of the crewmen and the wreckage of the craft.

The US military later acknowledged that one of its helicopters had crashed in ar-Ramadi, Quds Press reported. The American side admitted that two US Marines aboard the craft had been killed.

US air raid kills 20 Iraqi civilians near helicopter crash scene Wednesday night.

In a bulletin posted at 8:30pm Mecca time Wednesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier US fighter planes bomb ed three houses of Iraqi civilians in the al-Bu ‘Ubayd area east of ar-Ramadi where earlier in the day Iraqi Resistance fighters had shot down an American helicopter.

The deputy director of ar-Ramadi hospital, in an exclusive interview with the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent, said that at the time of reporting there had already been 20 confirmed deaths and 18 wounded as a result of the American air raid. Witnesses told the correspondent that the American war planes fired three guided missiles at the houses located about 300 meters from where the US helicopter went down during the morning.

Al-Habbaniyah.

US troops throw 30 Iraqi families out of their homes.

Large numbers of US occupation troops stormed into the al-Jazirah area of al-Habbaniyah, 20km from al-Fallujah in western Iraq, and expelled 30 Iraqi families from their houses on the pretext that the American al-Asad base had come under rocket attack from areas near their homes.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the American troops drove the families out of their homes b force. The correspondent saw a number of the men appealing to the US troops to let them take some necessities with them before being expelled from their houses.

The correspondent followed as the families were forced out of the area where they lived some 16km away from the US base.

The American forces then brought in huge vehicles carrying concrete barricades as a first step to turning the former residential area into an American military camp.

Resistance bombards US as-Saqr Air Base early Wednesday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired four heavy 120mm mortar rounds into the US as-Saqr Air Base in the al-Habbaniyah area west of Baghdad at 6:30am local time Wednesday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of the al-Fallahat village who witnessed the attack as saying that The US base was blasted by four heavy mortar rounds that set off explosions and sent pillars of smoke rising from inside the American-occupied facility.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet army troops in al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 3:20pm Mecca time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet army patrol on the main road near the industrial zone of southeastern al-Fallujah.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the city reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb had been planted by the side of the road and blew up as the patrol drove past. The explosion set fire to on Iraqi puppet army vehicle, killing two Iraqi puppet soldiers and wounding three more.

Resistance bomb blasts US armored column on Strategic Road at noon Wednesday.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US column on the Strategic Road west of Hit at 12:15pm local time Wednesday.

The local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported eyewitnesses as saying that there had been an explosion of a bomb that that had been planted by the side of the Strategic Road used by US occupation military column in the western part of the country. The bomb went off as a column of several Bradley armored vehicles was passing by.

One of the armored vehicles was heavily damaged in the explosion, which wounded four US troops inside.

Baghdad.

Resistance bombards puppet “Interior Ministry” unit in al-Bayya‘ area Wednesday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 5:05pm Mecca time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had bombarded the headquarters of the puppet Iraqi “Interior Ministry Scorpion Brigade” in the al-Bayya‘ area of western Baghdad with four heavy 120mm mortar rounds.

The local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of al-Bayya‘ who witnessed the bombardment as saying that the four heavy shells blasted into the middle of the headquarters, setting off explosions and sending smoke billowing into the sky.

Resistance fighters ambush puppet police “special forces” patrol east of Baghdad early Wednesday.

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a foot patrol backed up by vehicles of the so-called “special forces” of the Iraqi puppet police in the al-Habibiyah area, east of Baghdad at 7:30am local time Wednesday morning.

The local correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the patrol, killing two puppet policemen and wounding another two of them. The Resistance attackers then withdrew from the area having suffered no casualties in their ranks.

Puppet “Minister of Defense” threatens to blow up every house over the heads of residents inside if they have harbored Resistance fighters. New US-Iraqi puppet army campaign to subjugate Iraq set to begin in next few days.

The “Minister of Defense” in the US-installed Iraqi regime, Sa‘dun ad-Dulaymi, announced the intention of the US occupation forces and the Iraqi puppet forces of launching a massive military campaign in several provinces immediately after the ‘Eid al-Fitr holidays (set to begin on Thursday) that follow the end of the Ramadan month of fasting. Ad-Dulaymi threatened that the regime would “blow up every house over the heads of the women and children inside” that gives refuge to what he called ‘terrorists.’

According to a report carried by al-‘Arabiyah satellite TV, and also by the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam who was present, ad-Dulaymi told a press conference at the “Ministry of Defense” in Baghdad that Iraqi puppet army units would be taking part in a massive security campaign, in which they would raid villages and markets that still “harbor terrorists” as he dubbed Resistance fighters.

The American-installed “Defence Minister” cited gory photographs of the aftermath of US bombings of civilian houses in al-Qa’im, where some 41 villagers were blown up in their homes early Monday morning, as an example of what was in store for other regions of Iraq still unwilling to accept US control. Ad-Dulaymi said that this was a “final warning” to Iraqis.

Resistance bomb blasts Iraqi puppet forces on road to Kirkuk early Wednesday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet army column near ar-Riyad, northeast of Bayji on the road to Kirkuk at 2pm local time Wednesday afternoon.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of ar-Riyad as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road blew up by the joint patrol, damaging oen vehicle belonging to the Iraqi puppet army. One Iraqi puppet army soldier was killed and another wounded in the explosion.

Tikrit.

Resistance ambushes puppet police patrol south of Tikrit Wednesday morning.

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked an Iraqi puppet police patrol on the road to the ad-Dawr area south of Tikrit at 9am local time Wednesday morning.

The Mafakrat al-Islam correspondent reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that Resistance fighters equipped with light arms and PKS machine guns attacked the patrol, killing two puppet policemen, one of them a captain, and wounding two more of them. One of the Resistance fighters was also killed in the attack.

Al-Mushahadah.

Resistance bomb blasts US patrol early Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 10:40am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US patrol on the main road in al-Mushahadah, north of Baghdad.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the area reported residents of al-Mushahadah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in the area blew up as a patrol of view American Humvees drove by. The explosion set fire to one of the Humvees, wounding three of its crewmembers, one of them seriously.

Babil Province.

Al-Musayyib.

Sectarian bombing in al-Musayyib leaves 23 Iraqis dead in apparent bid to arouse sectarian strife.

In a another in the series of bombings apparently aimed at facilitating the US-fostered strategy of partitioning Iraq, a bomb exploded in a crowded market in al-Musayyib, south of Baghdad as sunset and the end of the daily Ramadan fast approached.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported that 23 Iraqis were killed and 46 wounded when an explosives-laden car exploded near a Shi‘i mosque in the city, some 55km south of Baghdad.

Iraqi puppet police sources told al-Jazeera that the area where the blast occurred was full of shops, restaurants, and a bus stop.

Al-Yusufiyah.

Four US troops reported killed in Resistance car bombing early Wednesday.

An Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US military column near the village of al-Kartan on the road to al-Yusufiyah, south of Baghdad at 8:30am local time Wednesday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of the village of al-Kartan, north of al-Yusufiyah as saying that a car bomber blew his vehicle up as a US column was passing by. The explosion totally destroyed a Zeal troop transport, killing at least four American troops and wounding another five US soldiers, the witnesses said.

American troops closed the road to al-Yusufiyah and prevented anyone from approaching the scene of the attack. A US Black Hawk helicopter was seen landing in the area.

US troops close mosque near al-Yusufiyah Wednesday morning.

Early on Wednesday morning, US forces closed down the al-Junaydi al-Baghdadi Mosque in the Kilometer 37 area north of al-Yusufiyah.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the area reported residents of al-Yusufiyah as saying that US troops locked the mosque and prevented local worshippers from going in to pray. They also set up a checkpoint in front of the sealed place of worship where they positioned a number of tanks.

The correspondent noted that this was the second such act by US forces in a month. US troops closed down the al-Kiram al-Barrirah Mosque in the Abu Ghurayb area west of Baghdad about a month ago.

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

US soldier reported killed in midday bombing in southern Mosul.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the Sumar neighborhood of southern Mosul at 1pm local time Wednesday.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of Sumar as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road to the center of town exploded as a patrol of four US Humvees drove past.

The explosion disabled one Humvee, killing one American soldier and wounding two more.

Irbil Province.

Irbil.

Puppet police, Kurdish separatist militia launch wave of arrests of Kurdish Islamists.

In a bulletin posted at 2:05pm Mecca time Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at the time of writing, pro-occupation Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militia and Iraqi puppet police backed supplied with air cover from US helicopters were raiding homes and arresting numerous Kurdish Islamists in the middle of the far northern Iraqi city of Irbil.

The local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that among the houses raided was that of Shaykh Kaka Nawzad, one of the most prominent Salafi religious scholars in northern Iraq. Shakh Kaka Nawzad was arrested with two of his sons.

A source in the local puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that they were carrying out the campaign to search through what they called the “nests of terror” that the occupation regime regards as responsible for the recent bombings in as-Sulaymaniyah and elsewhere. They hope to arrest members of organizations behind those attacks.
The security source said that the pro-American intelligence services had information showing that Kurdish Salafi Islamist groups in the city were involved in those bombings.

The correspondent noted that at the time of writing, the raids and searches were still underway.
