Al-Anbar Province.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance mounts assault on US camp in ar-Ramadi Thursday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in ar-Ramadi reported that a short while earlier violent fighting had erupted between the Iraqi Resistance and US occupation troops.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance began its fierce attack on a US military camp east of ar-Ramadi when a Resistance fighter drove an explosives-packed car into the camp and exploded. That signaled the outbreak of battle as an estimated 20 Resistance fighters armed with machine guns and shoulder-launched pipe rockets assaulted the American Marine camp.

At the time of reporting the sounds of battle could still be heard in the area. Thick columns of smoke were billowing into the sky over the American camp as the sound of explosions going off inside the facility shook the area.

Several American military vehicles could be seen on fire with the charred bodies of American soldiers still inside.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the American Marines responded to the attack with intensive fire that left the Resistance fighters outgunned. The Resistance attackers were, nevertheless, able to withdraw from the scene having suffered no casualties.

US troops surround, search ar-Ramadi General Hospital looking for wounded Resistance fighters to arrest.

US military forces on Thursday morning surrounded ar-Ramadi General Hospital and launched an extensive search of the facility looking for any wounded Iraqi Resistance fighters who might have entered the hospital after the combat that raged late Wednesday night.

In a dispatch posted at 10:25am Mecca time Thursday morning, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in ar-Ramadi reported residents of the ath-Thilah neighborhood adjacent to the hospital as saying that US troops backed up by aremored vehicles surrounded the hospital in the morning and began searching it. The Americans believe that some of those wounded in the violent fighting that took place late on Wednesday night might have entered the hospital seeking treatment.

The correspondent reported that the fighting took place in the middle of ar-Ramadi between American troops an Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons, including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and PKS machine guns. The combat latest about one hour. No information was available on the number of casualties sustained by the Americans because the nighttime curfew was in force at the time of the battle. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam, however, that they saw two American Humvees on fire.

Hit.

Resistance bombards Hit Thursday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired three mortar rounds into the US headquarters in the western Iraqi city of Hit at about 3pm local time Thursday afternoon.

The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance barrage targeted the US headquarters set up in what was formerly the city Youth Center building in the middle of Hit. Residents in the al-‘Ummal neighborhood of the city who witnessed the attack said that the three shells landed inside the US headquarters but had no information regarding the nature or extent of casualties or damage caused inside.

Al-Habbaniyah.

Resistance bombards US as-Saqr airbase Thursday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired two Katyusha rockets into the US base known as as-Saqr Air Base in al-Habbaniyah, west of Baghdad at 10am local time Thursday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the al-Fallahat village that lies adjacent to the base as saying that the rocket attack sent pillars of smoke rising over the US-occupied facility.

American forces rushed to return fire, using heavy artillery to pound the positions from where the rockets were fired. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported, however, that the American shells hit no one. No information on the nature or extent of casualties inside American base was available.

Al-Hadithah.

US forces find bodies of 13 Iraqi puppet army soldiers.

In a dispatch posted at 2:25pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier US occupation troops in the city of al-Hadithah in western Iraqi had discovered the bodies of 13 Iraqi puppet army soldiers.

A source in the Iraqi puppet army, who went to the scene of the discovery near the the railroad junction north of the city to receive the bodies from the Americans, told Mafkarat al-Islam that the men had been executed by shooting, except for one man, Captain Amir ad-Duri, who had been beheaded. The rest had all been shot, the source said.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent saw the corpses himself after the Iraqi puppet army had taken possession of them from the Americans.

A military medical source told the correspondent that the puppet army soldiers had been executed two days earlier and had been shot in one place and then dumped in the location where they were later found.

Abu Ghurayb.

US soldier reported killed in roadside bombing Thursday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a column of US military vehicles on the Old Road west of Abu Ghurayb that leads to al-Fallujah at 4pm local time Thursday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of Abu Ghurayb who witnessed the attack as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the old road near the western entrance to Abu Ghurayb blew up as the column of several US Humvees was passing by.

The explosion disabled one Humvee, killing an American soldier and wounding two other US troops.

Baghdad.

US-installed “Iraqi Health Ministry” said to be operating torture cells for medical personnel whose “loyalty” to the US occupation falls into question.

Quds Press reported on Wednesday that its correspondent had learned that the “Ministry of Health” in the US-appointed puppet regime in Baghdad operates detention and torture cells inside the “Health Ministry” building used for holding and interrogating any “Ministry” employee whose loyalty to the American-backed “government” comes into question.

Sources told the London-based Quds Press news agency that four Iraqi physicians had been arrested by the Iraqi puppet police in Medical City Hospital on Wednesday, 31 August 2005. Medical City in Baghdad is one of the largest hospitals in the country.

The sources reported that the Iraqi puppet police locked up the doctors in a cell inside the “Ministry of Health” building on the pretext that they were “Wahhabi” fundamentalists ﾐ even though two of the four were Shi‘ah.

The four were held in cells under the office of Dr. ‘Ammar as-Saffar, the “Iraqi Deputy Health Minister.” The source told Quds Press that the four were subjected to “the harshest types of torture.” After two days, the two Shi‘i physicians were released after having endured “their share of torture” but the two Sunni doctors remain in detention, the sources said.

The sources told Quds Press that the doctors in question are:

Dr. Salim Khattab ‘Umar, a surgeon specializing in the kidneys and urinary tract and one of the most famous specialists in that field; a Dr. ‘Ammar, a student in the radiation department; Dr. ‘Ali Jasim; and Dr. ‘Adil Hifzi ﾐ the last two named being the physicians released after two days in confinement.

Quds Press noted that there had been frequent charges that dungeons and torture chambers were being maintained and operated by various “Ministries” in the American-installed regime. The “Interior Ministry” and “Defense Ministry” in particular have frequently been alleged to be running such “facilities.” This is the first time that the puppet “Ministry of Health” has been accused of imprisonment and torture.

Two US troops reported killed in bombing in ad-Durah late Thursday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet army patrol in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah at 11:30am local time Thursday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of ad-Durah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road leading to ‘Arab Jabbur southeast of ad-Durah blew up as a joint patrol passed by. The explosion completely destroyed one US Humvee, killing two US soldiers and wounding two more.

Resistance bombards joint US-Iraqi puppet army base in as-Sayyidiyah late Thursday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired four mortar rounds into the headquarters of US and Iraqi puppet army forces in the as-Sayyidiyah area south of Baghdad at 11am local time Thursday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Baghdad reported residents of as-Sayyidiyah who witnessed the attack as saying that the barrage sent clouds of smoke rising over the headquarters.

Babil Province.

Al-Musayyib.

US soldier reported killed in Resistance bombing of fuel convoy Thursday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a convoy of American military trucks loaded with fuel for US occupation forces near al-Musayyib on the road to Baghdad at about 3pm local time Thursday afternoon.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the city reported residents of al-Musayyib who witnessed the attack as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road leading to Baghdad exploded as a convoy of 11 tank trucks loaded with fuel escorted by several Humvees was passing by.

The explosion set fire to one of the tankers, killing one American soldier and wounding a second.

Diyala Province.

Buhriz.

One US soldier reported killed in Resistance ambush late Thursday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a joint patrol of US occupation troops and Iraqi puppet army soldiers in the Buhriz area south of Ba‘qubah at 4:15pm local time Thursday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the Resistance fighters surprised the patrol that was made up of three US Humvees and several pickups belonging to the Iraqi puppet army as it entered the city from the north.

The correspondent reported that the Resistance fighters, armed with light weapons and shoulder-fired rocket launchers totally destroyed one pickup belonging to the Iraqi puppet army and set one American Humvee on fire. One American soldier and three Iraqi puppet army troops were killed and two US troops and four Iraqi puppet soldiers were wounded in the attack.

One Iraqi Resistance fighter was also wounded before the attackers withdrew from the zone.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Samarra’.

Resistance forces ambush joint US-Iraqi puppet army patrol Thursday morning.

Firce fighting broke out between Iraqi Resistance fighters and American and Iraqi puppet army troops in the al-Mu‘tasim area of central Samarra’ at 9am local time Thursday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the city reported residents of al-Mu‘tasim as saying that the fighting erupted when Resistance forces armed with RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet army patrol in the neigborhood, setting one Humvee on fire and killing or wounding the four American troops aboard it.

Then about 15 Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the patrol, disabling another vehicle and killing two Iraqi puppet army troops and one more American. One Iraqi Resistance fighter was killed and three others wounded in the battle, after which the Resistance fighters withdrew from the scene.

Ninwa Province.

Sinjar.

Resistance bomb targets US supply convoy near Sinjar Thursday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a truck convoy loaded with provisions and supplies for US forces on the road to the city of Sinjar, west of Mosul in northern Iraq at 9:30am local time Thursday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the village of Badi‘at on the road to Sinjar as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road leading to Sinjar blew up as a convoy of several US trucks loaded with supplies and equipment for the American occupation troops passed by. The explosion set one of the trucks completely on fire, wounding the two drivers who were working for the American occupation forces.

Tall ‘Afar.

Four US troops reported killed in bombing north of Tall ‘Afar early Thursday.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US armored column on the road to the al-‘Ayyadiyah area north of Tall ‘Afar at 7am local time Thursday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of al-‘Ayyadiyah as saying that a bomb that had been planted in the middle of a farm road leading to Tall ‘Arar blew up under a column of seven US armored vehicles. The explosion completely destroyed the vehicle, killing four US troops and wounding three more American soldiers.

Al-Basrah Province.

Al-Basrah.

Car bomb rocks restaurant in al-Basrah Wednesday night.

A violent explosion shook the city of al-Basrah at 9:30pm Wednesday night when a car bomb exploded in the al-Jam‘iyat area in the west of the city.

The explosion took place near a restaurant on the public street separating the al-Hayyaniyah area from the al-Jam‘iyat district. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the blast left 12 people dead and another 16 injured according to the Iraqi puppet police.

It was the first car bombing in al-Basrah in more than one year. The correspondent reported that the restaurant that took the brunt of the damage in the blast was located near the regime’s Internal Affiars Directorate which has responsible for the arrest and murder of local Sunnis, the correspondent reported. Sources near the restaurant said that most of the regular patrons of the establishment are members of the puppet police and puppet security forces.

The puppet “Iraqi national guards” arrested three Sunnis in the are where the car bombing took place, all of them worshippers at the al-Manasir Mosque at 12:30am Thursday morning. The correspondent reported that it has become customary for the puppet regime’s security forces in the city to arrest any Sunni who happens to be nearby when a security incident takes place, and for them to raid any nearby Sunni mosques.
