Car Bombings, Roadside Bombings, Ambushes, And Attacks Add US Casualties

Car bombings in Ramadi, roadside bombs in Fallujah, ambushes on joint patrols and a double attack in Mosul added more names to the growing list of American casualties in Iraq that continue to inch up day after day.
In a bulletin posted at 1:45pm Mecca time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported a car bomb exploded by a US military column in the az-Zuyut neighborhood in the middle of Ramadi.
A source in the Iraqi puppet army said an explosives-packed car that was parked by the side of the main road in the az-Zuyut neighborhood blew up as a column of several US military vehicles was passing by. The explosion totally destroyed one US military vehicle, reportedly killing four American troops. Another US soldier who was among those aboard the vehicle was missing after the attack.
At the time of his filing, Mafkarat al-Islamﾕs correspondent reported that US troops were surrounding the area where the explosion occurred. Some of the American troops were working to recover the bodies while others were closing off the az-Zuyut neighborhood and had begun a search for the missing soldier.
Three US Troops Reported Killed In Roadside Bombing
A bomb exploded by a US military patrol on the al-Karinat Street in the Industrial Zone in the south of Fallujah according to reports from Mafkarat al-Islam. Residents said that a bomb that had been planted by the side of al-Karinat Street near the entrance to the Industrial Zone blew up as a patrol of several US Humvees passed by. The explosion totally destroyed one Humvee, reportedly killing three American troops and wounding two more.
Bomb Blasts ﾒIraqi Armyﾓ Troops
A bomb exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet army patrol on the road leading to al-Mushahadah, south of at-Tarimiyah, at about 2pm local time Wednesday afternoon. Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that a bomb that was planted by the side of the road had blown up as a joint patrol was passing by. The explosion destroyed one troop carrier belonging to the Iraqi puppet army, reportedly killing three puppet army soldiers and wounding another two.
Double Resistance Attack On Joint Patrol In Mosul
Resistance fighters ambushed a joint US-Iraqi patrol on the road to Kirkuk near the al-Wahdah neighborhood in southeast Mosul at 3pm local time Wednesday afternoon. Local residents told Mafkarat al-Islam that the ambush began with the explosion of a roadside bomb beside the passing joint patrol. The blast destroyed a US Humvee and forced the column to come to a halt to recover the bodies of the dead and rescue the wounded.
Shortly after the column halted, Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons, including PKS machine guns, RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades, and 82mm mortars, attacked the troops from two directions. The attackers destroyed one American armored vehicle, a US Humvee, and a pickup belonging to the Iraqi puppet army. Seven US troops were reportedly killed and another four American soldiers wounded. Three Iraqi soldiers were also said to have been killed and a fourth wounded and three Resistance fighters were also wounded, one of them seriously.
Fighters Ambush Joint US-Iraqi Puppet Army Patrol
Fighters attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet army patrol in the al-Yarmuk section of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul at 11am local time Wednesday morning according to Mafkarat al-Islam.
Traffic police who were on the scene when the attack took place said that about seven Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons, including PKS machine guns and RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades, attacked the patrol at the entrance to the al-Yarmuk neighborhood. A pickup belonging to the Iraqi army was set on fire and a US Humvee was disabled in the attack.
One US soldier and three Iraqi puppet army troops were killed. Two American and two Iraqi puppet soldiers were wounded in the assault. Two fighters were also reported wounded before they withdrew from the area along with the rest of their comrades following the ambush.
