Al-Anbar Province.

Al-Qa’im.

Resistance shoots down US helicopter near al-Qa’im.

Iraqi Resistance forces shot down a US helicopter near the phosphate mines in the area of al-Qa’im in western Iraq near the Syrian border Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 4:50pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Qa’im reported witnesses as saying that Resistance fighters opened fire with Dmitrov machine guns at the helicopter, setting it ablaze and causing it to fall to earth near the phosphate mines.

The correspondent reported that there was unusual activity by US troops and helicopters in that area, which US forces had encircled a short while before he filed his report.

For their part, workers in the phosphate mine who witnessed the downing said that they saw the helicopter crash into the earth. They said that the occupation troops had been able to find the wreckage but they did not know the fate of the crew.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance bomb kills three Iraqi puppet policemen Monday evening.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet police patrol in the al-Karmah area east of al-Fallujah.

Residents of ash-Shihabi village on the west side of al-Karmah told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that a bomb that was planted by on a farm road leading to al-Fallujah blew up by the passing joint patrol at 7pm local time Monday evening.

The correspondent reported that the blast set ablaze one pickup belonging to the Iraqi puppet police. Three puppet policemen were killed in the attack.

Double bombing targets US forces in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah Monday afternoon.

Two Iraqi Resistance roadside bombs exploded by US forces in the area of ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah, south of al-Fallujah city, Monday afternoon.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that a bomb that was planted by the side of a road blew up as a US patrol was passing through the area at 3:30pm local time Monday afternoon. The blast destroyed one American armored vehicle that continued to burn for about 15 minutes without any of the crew inside coming out.

The correspondent reported that after that explosion, US troops raced to the area to save the first detachment which had run into the bomb. But witnesses recounted that when about 10 US troops and a Humvee gathered at the scene, a second bomb went off. That explosion totally destroyed the Humvee and left all the 10 US troops either dead or wounded.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance mounts heavy assaulton US al-Warrar base west of ar-Ramadi midday Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:20pm Mecca time Monday, the ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment Iraqi Resistance forces armed with light and medium weapons were attacking the US al-Warrar base west of ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent, who was on the scene near where the fighting was raging, said that about 35 Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons including PKS machine guns, RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades, and S5K pipe rockets, were at that moment attacking the fences surrounding the US compound. The attack was concentrated on the concrete barricades surrounding the base and the Resistance fighters were attempting to destroy them.

The correspondent added that the Resistance, meanwhile, was also pounding the US base with 120mm, 82mm, and 60mm mortar rounds. More than 25 mortar shells had already blasted into the American facility at the time of reporting and the barrage was still underway. Another group of Resistance fighters were clashing with US troops who were attempting to keep the Resistance from approaching their base.

US aircraft have been unable to attack the Resistance fighters because they are too close to the US troops. The observation centers on the US base, meanwhile, were on fire after taking hits from Resistance S5K rockets.

Hit.

Five US troops reported killed in car bomb attack in al-Muhammadi Monday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 10:25am Mecca time Monday morning, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the western city of Hit reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter had driven an explosives-packed car into a group of US and Iraqi puppet army soldiers in al-Muhammadi, east of Hit.

Residents of al-Muhammadi told the correspondent that a Resistance fighter drove a Caprice car that was loaded with explosives at very high speed along the old road to Hit in the al-Muhammadi area, slamming into a group of US and Iraqi puppet troops with Humvees and pickups. The blast went off near the group and set two US Humvees and one Iraqi puppet force pickup truck on fire. Five US troops were killed and four more American soldiers were wounded. Two Iraqi puppet troops were killed and one other wounded.

After the attack, US and Iraqi puppet troops opened fire indiscriminately at civilians who happened to be near the scene at the time. Their wild gunfire killed on civilian and wounded two others.

Abu Ghurayb.

US soldier reportedly killed in roadside bombing late Monday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column in the adh-Dhahab al-Abyad area east of Abu Ghurayb, some 30km west of Baghdad at 11am local time Monday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Abu Ghurayb reported residents of adh-Dhahab al-Abyad as saying that a bomb that was planted by the side of the International Highway to western provinces blew up as a US armored column passed by.

The witnesses said that the blast disabled one US armored vehicle, killing one American soldier and wounding two more.

Al-Habbaniyah.

Resistance bombards US as-Saqr base in al-Habbaniyah before dawn Monday.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired four medium-range Grad rockets into the US base in al-Habbaniyah west of Baghdad at 4am Monday morning.

Witnesses who live in al-Fallahat village, adjacent to the US camp known as the as-Saqr (Falcon) Airbase, told the al-Habbaniyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the bombardment set off four violent explosions that were followed by numerous secondary blasts inside the base. Smoke rose over the US-occupied facility as a result of the barrage.

Baghdad.

Four US troops reported killedin roadside bombing south of Baghdad late Monday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military patrol in the as-Surayfat area located to the north of the town of Jurf as-Sakhr, which is southwest of Baghdad.

Residents of as-Surayfat village told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that a bomb that was planted in the middle of an unpaved road blew up at 5pm local time as a patrol of five Humvees passed over it. The blast totally destroyed one of the Humvees, killing its crew of four American troops.

Resistance bombards US base in southwestern Baghdad early Monday.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired six 120mm mortar rounds into the joint US-Iraqi puppet headquarters in the area of as-Sayyidiyah to the southwest of Baghdad at 9am local time Monday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents in the as-Sayyidiyah area as saying that the barrage set off violent explosions inside the base and sent plumes of smoke rising into the sky from inside the compound.

Babil Province.

Al-Latifiyah.

Resistance bombards joint US-Iraqi puppet army camp late Monday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired four heavy 120mm mortar rounds into the joint US-Iraqi puppet army base located south of the city of al-Latifiyah, 25km south of Baghdad at 6:30pm local time Monday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Latifiyah reported witnesses as saying that the barrage destroyed parts of the camp. An American military vehicle could be seen on fire inside the camp.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Tikrit.

Resistance ambushes US column near Tikrit Monday evening.

Iraqi Resistance forces mounted two successive attacks on a column of two armored vehicles, four personnel carriers and two Humvees on the road between Tikrit and Bayji to the north of Baghdad on Monday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 8:30pm Mecca time Monday evening, the Tikrit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of al-Bu Nasir village as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons and RPG7 rocket-propelled grenade launchers attacked a US column sparking a fierce firefight that lasted some 10 minutes. In the course of the engagement the Resistance set fire to one US armored vehicle and destroyed a Humvee, killing or wounding about eight US troops.

After the Resistance fighters withdrew from the battle zone, US troops surrounded the area. At that point Resistance forces opened fire with mortars, lobbing four 82mm mortar rounds into the US troops, setting one more US vehicle on fire. Due to the US defense perimeter, however, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent was unable to obtain information on the nature or extent of possible casualties.

Balad.

Resistance bomb blasts US fuel convoy late Monday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a convoy of tank trucks hauling fuel to US bases in the area of Balad on the road that leads to Baghdad around 6pm local time Monday evening,

Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Balad, north of Baghdad, that an bomb that was planted by the side of the road blew up as a column of 11 fuel tankers and three US Humvees was passing.

The witnesses said that the blast set one of the fuel tankers on fire and killed the driver who was working for the US occupation forces.

Al-Mushahadah.

Two US troops reported killed by roadside bomb al-Mushahadah area Monday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the main road in the at-Tarimiyah area, north of Baghdad at 4pm local time Monday afternoon.
Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in at-Tarimiyah that a bomb that was planted in the al-Mushahadah area blew up as a column of several US Humvees passed by.

The witnesses said that the blast set one of the vehicles on fire, killing two US troops and wounding two more.

Wasit Province.

As-Suwayrah.

Resistance sharpshooter fells Ukrainian soldier Saturday night.

An Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a Ukrainian occupation soldier in the city of as-Suwayrah, south of Baghdad late on Saturday night, 20 August 2005.

A source in the as-Suwayrah puppet police told the local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that Resistance sharp shooters have been active in recent days in the city and that on Saturday one of their bullets killed a Ukrainian soldier with a shot to the head.

Residents in the western part of as-Suwayrah told the correspondent that Iraqi puppet forces and Ukrainian occupation troops were on patrol at the time of the shooting late Saturday night. Afterwards they encircled the area and searched everywhere but found no trace of the sharpshooter.

At-Ta’mim Province.

Al-Hawijah.

Four US troops reported killed in double bombing in al-Hawijah.

In a dispatch posted at 9:55am Monday morning Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded by a US patrol on the main road near the ash-Shuhada’ Bridge in the al-Hawijah area near Kirkuk in northern Iraq

Residents of al-Hawijah told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that the first roadside bomb exploded as a patrol of several Humvees passed by. The blast totally destroyed one of the Humvees, killing three US troops and wounding one other American soldier.

After the blast, US troops surrounded the area and prevented residents and journalists from approaching. At that moment the second roadside bomb went off near one of the US vehicles stopped in the road near where the first bomb had exploded. The second blast set a US Humvee on fire, killing one more American and wounding another.

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

Resistance fighters ambush joint US-Iraqi puppet army patrol midday Monday.

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a joint patrol of US troops and Iraqi puppet soldiers in the al-Wahdah neighborhood in the south of Mosul at midday Monday.

Witnesses told the Mosul correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that about eight Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the joint patrol at 1pm local time Monday afternoon. The attack set two vehicles on fire ﾐ one of them an American Humvee and the other a Land Cruiser belonging to the Iraqi puppet army. One US soldier was killed and three others wounded and four Iraqi puppet troops were killed with two more of them suffering injuries in the attack.

Witnesses reported that two Resistance fighters were wounded but were able to withdraw with the other Resistance attackers after the battle.

Al-Basrah Province.

Al-Basrah.

British soldier reported wounded in roadside bombing Sunday.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded in the Tariq area in the north of al-Basrah on Sunday, wounding a British soldier, Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the Iraqi puppet police as saying.

The American Associated Press (AP), as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the British Ministry of Defence had declared that a military vehicle had had an accident that left one British soldier slightly wounded.
