Al-Anbar Province.

Hit.

Resistance bombards US headquarters in Hit Thursday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired four medium-range Grad rockets into the US headquarters in the western Iraqi city of Hit Thursday morning.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Hit reported that the violent barrage struck American headquarters, set up in what was formerly the local Youth Center. Witnesses in the al-‘Ummal neighborhood adjacent to the US headquarters said that the four rockets blasted directly into the American-occupied facility, setting off violent explosions inside that could be heard throughout the whole city. Clouds of smoke billowed into the sky as a result of the attack.

At the time of reporting, the correspondent noted that swarms of US helicopters were in the skies over Hit searching for the Resistance fighters who carried out the attack.

Al-Fallujah.

US soldier reported killed bombing near city park in al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:35am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short time before, an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet army patrol on the main road near the public park in the middle of al-Fallujah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city reported shopkeepers in the area around the park as saying that a bomb that was planted by the sidewalk on the main road that goes past the park blew up as the joint patrol passed by. One US Humvee was destroyed and a personnel carrier being used by the Iraqi puppet forces was set on fire. One US soldier was killed and three others wounded in the blast. Four Iraqi puppet troops were killed in the attack, witnesses reported.

Resistance bomb blasts joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol early Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 9:45am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before, an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a joint patrol of US soldiers and Iraqi puppet troops on the main road in the popular market area in the middle of al-Fallujah in western Iraq.

Witnesses told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that a bomb that was planted by the side of the road explosed as the patrol passed by, setting one pickup belonging to the Iraqi puppet forces on fire and damaging one American Humvee. Three Iraqi puppet soldiers were killed and two more wounded in the attack. Two US soldiers were also injured.

Al-Qa’im.

US troops prefer mules and donkeys over armored vehicles and Humvees.

Residents of the western Iraqi desert in the Upper Euphrates area around the Hasibah hieghts, al-Qa’im, and the nearby phosphate mines on the Syrian border report that US Marines have now been using mules and donkeys for about a week now to transport their equipment and provisions through the desert. Afraid of Resistance ambushes and bombs, the Marines feel that the quadrupeds present less of a target.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of al-Qa’im as saying that the US Marines are now using mules and donkeys even to transport provisions and equipment for very great distances, leaving their vehicles in camps specially made for them a few days ago on the edge of the desert areas.

A group of sheep smugglers told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that the first time they saw the Americans riding the donkeys and mules, they thought that it was some kind of military operation or new battle tactic. They learned from the Egyptian translators who work as mercenaries for the Americans that the reason for the use of the pack animals was simply that the beasts can sense danger before it happens. They can sense bombs in the ground, they said, before they come close to them and they are also harder for Resistance attackers to see.

The fact that US troops are now falling back on the use of pack animals reflects the serious problems that continue to plague the American motorized equipment. Even after Humvees have been armor plated or warning devices, they are still frequently blown into little bits by Resistance bombs.

Abu Ghurayb.

US soldiers reported killed in ambush of American column near Abu Ghurayb.

Iraqi Resistance fighters mounted a violent attack a column of US troops in the az-Zaydan area southwest of Abu Ghurayb.

Residents of the az-Zaydan area told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the city that the attack began when a bomb that was planted by the side of a farm road leading to ar-Ridwaniyah, east of az-Zaydan, exploded by the passing column of four US armored vehicles and three Humvees. That blast totally destroyed one Humvee, killing three US soldiers who were aboard it, and wounded a fourth.

As soon as the blast had brought the column to a halt, about eight Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons including PKS machine guns, RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades, and hand grenades attacked the Americans. One more Humvee was set on fire and an American armored vehicle disabled. Six more US troops were killed and six others wounded in the ambush.

For its part, Quds Press reported witnesses as saying that the bombing and the ambush had left only two US troops dead and four other American soldiers wounded.

In his report posted at 10:28am Mecca time the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that at the time of writing, US forces were encircling the area as swarms of helicopters prowled the skies overhead at very low altitudes. The Americans had closed all the roads leading to the area where the attack took place and were searching all civilian cars entering or leaving Abu Ghurayb.

Baghdad.

Resistance bombards joint US-Iraqi puppet troops base in as-Sayyidiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 10:40am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters fired eight 60mm mortar rounds into the joint US-Iraqi puppet army base in the as-Sayyidiyah area southwest of Baghdad.

Residents of as-Sayyidiyah who witnessed the attack told the Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that all the mortar rounds blasted into the base, setting fires and sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky over every part of the facility.

US begins construction of largest ever military hospital in Iraq.

An a clear indication of their escalating losses at the hands of the Iraqi Resistance, the US occupation has been engaged for two weeks in building the largest military hospital in Iraq, and possibly in the whole region.

A source in the Iraqi puppet regime’s “Ministry of Health,” who asked not to be identified, told the Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that US forces took the ar-Rashid camp that belonged to the Army of the Republic of Iraq prior to the US invasion, located southwest of Baghdad as the site for this giant military hospital. The source confirmed that the facility is to have a capacity of over 4,000 beds and to have a large operating room as well as emergency wards and resuscitation rooms. The source said that US engineers who specialize in planning and construction had come to Iraq to work on the project.

The source, a high official in the “Health Ministry” said that many wounded US troops now lie in one of the hospitals in the area of the Republican Palace in Baghdad ﾐ the area dubbed the “green zone” by the US occupation authorities. The facilities there, however, are only supposed to hold a few dozen troops, he said, and this overcrowding has prompted the occupation authorities to set about constructing a new, much larger facility to receive the growing number of US troops wounded in Resistance attacks.

Babil Province.

Al-Hillah.

Two Polish occupation soldiers killed in roadside bombing Thursday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a Polish military patrol in the middle of the city of al-Hillah, south of Baghdad, where the Poles are based.

A source in the Iraqi puppet army told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that a bomb that had been planted in a household gas cylinder and placed by the side of al-Mu‘allimin Street, blew up. The explosion seriously damaged a Polish military vehicle and killed two Polish soldiers. A third Polish soldier was wounded.

After the attack, US and Polish troops surrounded the area where they were at the time the correspondent filed his report. The foreign troops launched a campaign of searches and arrests among gas sellers who are located up and down the entire street on which the attack occurred.

Maysan Province.

Al-‘Amarah.

Five British soldiers killed in Resistance car bombing in al-‘Amarah Thursday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 6:41pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives laden car into a column of British troops heading towards the center of the city of al-‘Amarah in southeastern Iraq.

The Resistance fighter in the car surprised the column by dashing out of a side street into the column as it proceeded down a main thoroughfare in the city.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam, who was near the scene of the attack at the time, reported that a source in the so-called “Al-Husayn Force” of the puppet government’s “Interior Ministry” as saying that a British armored vehicle was completely destroyed and five British soldiers were killed and a sixth wounded in the bombing.

After the attack British and Iraqi puppet security forces surrounded the entire area and started searching for clues.
