Al-Anbar Province.

Rawah.

US encircles Rawah late Monday in preparation for major offensive on the city of 60,000.

In a bulletin posted at 7pm local time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short time earlier US forces in Rawah had announced the beginning of a large-scale military offensive targeting the city of Rawah and aimed at attacking the Resistance in the city.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the area reported from the eastern outskirts of the city that dozens of military vehicles with air cover from helicopter gunships and fighter planes began to encircle the whole city starting with the eastern and southern sides.

US helicopters began dumping leaflets on the city of 60,000 demanding that they turn in the Iraqi Resistance fighters to the American occupation forces.

Al-Qa’im.

Resistance martyrdom car bomber blasts US armored column Monday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-packed car into a US tank column on the International Highway in the al-‘Ubaydi area, east of al-Qa’im (which is located on the Iraq-Syria border).

The al-Qa’im correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that a martyrdom Resistance fighter driving an Opel car surprised a column of six US tanks and four Humvees as it was proceeding along the road leading to al-Qa’im.

The witnesses said that the Resistance fighter blew up the car near one of the American tanks at 2:30pm local time Monday afternoon, setting it on fire and killing two US troops and wounding four more.

Al-Hadithah.

Four US troops reported killed in bombing Monday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded on the road linking the US al-Habbaniyah base with al-Fallahat village in the west at 2pm Monday afternoon local time.

Residents of al-Fallahat told the al-Habbaniyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that a high-explosive Resistance bomb that was planted by the side of the road leading to the American base blew up as a patrol of five US Humvees passed by. The blast destroyed one of the Humvees, killing four US troops who were aboard it.

Hit.

Resistance bomb targets US column west of Hit late Monday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded on the strategic road west of Hit at 11am local time Monday morning.

Residents of Jubbah village told the Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that a bomb that was planted by the side of the strategic road that leads west towards al-Baghdadi blew up as a column of several US Humvees passed by.

The explosion set one of the Humvees on fire, killing or wounding the five members of its American crew.

Al-Fallujah.

Following US murder of civilian, Resistance blasts American strongpoint Monday afternoon.

US forces drove into the residential complex in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah ﾐ south of the city of al-Fallujah ﾐ at 2pm local time Monday afternoon. The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US forces set up a strongpoint at the entrance to the residential area. At one point they saw a civilian approaching them and they shot him dead.

About an hour later, around 3:30pm Iraqi Resistance fighters opened fire with rocket-propelled grenades and machine guns on the Americans. They fired about two rockets into the strongpoint, killing or wounding 10 US troops.

Resistance bomb blasts joint US-Iraqi puppet column Sunday night.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet force patrol on the main road near the ash-Shuhada’ Bridge in al-Fallujah at about 9pm Sunday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city reported residents as saying that the bomb set one troop carrier belonging to the Iraqi puppet forces on fire, killing three Iraqi puppet troops and wounding five more of them. Two American soldiers were also injured in the blast.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported hospital sources in al-Fallujah as saying that four Iraqi puppet troops were killed and two more wounded in a bomb explosion there.

Abu Ghurayb.

Resistance bomb targets US foot patrol Monday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US foot patrol on a farm road in the az-Zaydan area southwest of Abu Ghurayb, 30km west of Baghdad at 4pm local time Monday afternoon.

The Abu Ghurayb correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a bomb that was planted by the side of a farm road to the south of the az-Zaydan area blew up as a US foot patrol accompanied by four Humvees passed by.

The blast killed three US troops and wounded four more American soldiers.

After the explosion, US forces encircled the area and began storming houses near the scene. The Americans arrested three persons claiming that they had attacked US troops in the area.

Baghdad.

Resistance attacks puppet vice president’s motorcade.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by the motorcade of the family of ‘Adil ‘Abd al-Hadi the puppet “Iraqi vice president” in the al-‘Azim area to the northeast of Baghdad.

An official source quoted by al-Jazeera satellite TV announced that ‘Abd al-Hadi was not in the motorcade at the time of the attack but that members of his family were present, on they way back from a trip to Kirkuk. Two guards accompanying the motorcade were killed in the Resistance attack. The official spokesman claimed that three other guards and three “civilians” were wounded by the bomb.

Resistance fighters kill puppet soldier in al-‘Amiriyah.

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a car in which two members of the Iraqi puppet army were riding in western Baghdad’s al-‘Amiriyah, al-Jazeera satellite TV reported Monday. One of the puppet soldiers was killed and the other wounded.

Resistance kills member of puppet Municipal Council in Baghdad.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported that Resistance fighters assassinated Muhammad Hasan Muhyi, a member of the puppet Municipal Council in the al-‘Adl neighborhood of Baghdad.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Samarra’.

Resistance fighters ambush US fuel convoy south of Samarra’ Monday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a US military convoy hauling fuel to American occupation troops near al-Ishaqi, which is south of Samarra’, on the highway leading to the country’s northern provinces.

Witnesses told the al-Ishaqi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that about eight Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons including BKC machine guns and pipe rockets, attacked a fuel truck convoy at 3pm local time Monday afternoon.

The attack set two of the fuel trucks on fire, killing three American soldiers and wounding four more.

American forces threaten to shoot anyone riding a motorcycle in Samarra’.

US forces have banned the use of motorcycles and motorscooters in the city of Samarra’ after an increase in the number of attacks by Iraqi Resistance motorcycle bombers, Quds Press reported Monday.

American troops distributed leaflets and broadcast the ban over loudspeakers, declaring that no individual might use such conveyances and threatening that anyone who violated the ban could be shot on sight.

The US forces also increased the hours of curfew in the city, now commanding that people must stay indoors from 7pm until 6am each day. The curfew used to be from 8pm until 5pm the next morning.

Ath-Tharthar.

Resistance bomb blasts US armored column early Monday.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US armored column on the farm road that runs near the ath-Tharthar Canal which links the Tigris River with ath-Tharthar lake, northwest of Baghdad, at 7am local time Monday morning.

Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in ath-Tharthar that a bomb that had been planted by the unpaved farm road that runs along the canal blew up as the armored column passed by, setting one armored vehicle on fire and killing one US soldier and wounding four more.

Diyala Province.

Buhriz.

Resistance fighters attack joint US-Iraqi puppet checkpoint.

In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Mecca time Monday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a checkpoint jointly manned by US troops and Iraqi puppet soldiers in the Buhriz area, northeast of Baghdad.

Witnesses in the Buhriz area told the Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance fighters armed with light weapons, hand grenades and BKC machine guns attacked the checkpoint, igniting a fire and killing one US soldier and wounding a second. Three Iraqi puppet troops were also killed and three more of the puppet soldiers wounded in the attack. Witnesses said that one of the Resistance fighters was also wounded.

Al-Khalis.

Two US troops reported killed in Resistance bombing Monday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol on the highway in the area of al-Khalis, north of Baghdad at 9am local time Monday morning.

Shopkeepers on the highway who witnessed the attack told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Khalis that a bomb that was planted by the side of the road blew up as the patrol of four US Humvees passed by. The blast set one of the Humvees on fire, killing two US soldiers and wounding two more.

Babil Province.

Al-Latifiyah.

American troops on a patrol opened fire on an Iraqi civilian car in al-Latifiyah, al-Jazeera satellite TV reported on Monday. The driver of the car was killed and two of the passengers were wounded in the American assault.

Ninwa Province.

Tall ‘Afar.

Resistance bombards joint US-Iraqi puppet force camp before dawn Monday.

Iraqi Resistance forces mounted a mortar attack on a joint US-Iraqi puppet fore base near the western entrance to the city of Tall ‘Afar, west of Mosul in northern Iraq in the pre-dawn hours of Monday morning.

Residents in Tall ‘Afar told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Tall ‘Afar that the attack came in two waves. First, the Resistance fired six mortar rounds into the camp at 2am local time and then 10 minutes later the Resistance struck the camp again with four more mortar shells. The bombardment set fires raging inside the camp, destroying parts of the facility.

The attack took place during the hours of curfew so the correspondent had no information on the nature or extent of US and Iraqi puppet casualties. Swarms of helicopters were observed in the skies, however, searching for the Resistance attackers, but the occupation issued no announcements boasting of their having captured anyone.
