Resistance ambushes joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol Wednesday afternoon.
Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet “rapid deployment force” patrol in the al-Mal‘ab area in the middle of ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad, at 3pm local time Wednesday afternoon.
Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in ar-Ramadi that a bomb that was planted by the side of 20 Street in the western part of al-Mal‘ab blew up as the joint patrol was passing by. The blast destroyed one US Humvee.
After the blast, the witnesses reported, Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the column, setting another Humvee ablaze and destroying a pickup belonging to the Iraqi puppet forces.
Four US troops and three Iraqi puppet soldiers were killed in the attack and six other American soldiers were wounded. The witnesses reported that two Resistance fighters were wounded in the engagement but were able to withdraw from the area.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance battles US “Gnawing Rats” offensive in al-Fallujah Tuesday ミ Wednesday.
Continuing its coverage of the American offensive on the people of al-Fallujah ミ dubbed “Operation Gnawing Rats” ミ the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah just south of the city reported in a dispatch posted at 10:50am Mecca time Wednesday morning that the Iraqi Resistance had mounted four various attacks on the attacking US forces in the area, forcing them to dig in ant take cover inside schools and government office buildings.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported from ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah ミ 11km south of al-Fallujah proper ミ that at 10am Tuesday morning an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol that was trying to close the road known as the al-Bu ‘Isa Road to prevent the people of al-Fallujah from entering or leaving the city by that route. The blast destroyed a Humvee and left three American soldiers dead and a fourth wounded. As the “Gnawing Rats” operation continues the al-Bu ‘Isa Road remained closed on Wednesday when the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent filed his report.
The second and third attacks coincided with the arrival of US forces in the environs of al-Fallujah coming from the area of ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah. Four Resistance rockets blasted into the Buzaybiz area, an open area in which the US forces were gathering at 12 noon Tuesday. Then at 3pm Tuesday seven powerful Grad rockets slammed into the same area, killing or wounding 13 US Marines, according to a source in the Iraqi puppet army.
During Tuesday-Wednesday night an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into the area at the crossroads of the cities of ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah and al-Habbaniyah near the cemetery of the martyrs of al-Qadisiyah, destroying two Humvees and killing or wounding a number of US troops.
Resistance mortars blast US troops in two locations in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah Wednesday night.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired seven heavy 120mm mortar rounds at a concentration of US troops in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah at 8:45pm local time Wednesday night, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported in a dispatch posted at 11:10pm Mecca time Wednesday night.
About 15 minutes after the attack on the Americans concentrated in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah, the Resistance fired seven more 120mm mortar rounds into the facility for military production now called al-‘Amir Facility, but known as the Saddam Facility for Military Production prior to the American occupation. US forces occupied that facility, also located in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah, about two months ago and turned it into a camp.
The correspondent reported that it was impossible to assess the extent of losses incurred by the Americans in the two attacks since US troops were shooting at anyone approaching them.
Hit.
Iraqi Resistance bombards US base east of Hit Wednesday afternoon.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired three medium-range Katyusha rockets into the US base east of Hit, 250km west of Baghdad at 4pm local time Wednesday afternoon.
Residents of the village of al-Muhammadi told the Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the barrage set off three violent explosions inside the camp, followed by other, secondary blasts as US munitions exploded. Clouds of smoke billowed into the sky from the US-occupied facility after the attack.
Al-Qa’im.
Resistance attacks US forces around ar-Rummanah village early Wednesday morning.
Iraqi Resistance forces ambushed a US military column in ar-Rummanah village, north of the city of al-Qa’im on the border with Syria in western Iraq at 6am local time Wednesday morning.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported residents of ar-Rummanah who witnessed the attack as saying that the Iraqi Resistance shelled a US camp 5km west of ar-Rummanah with mortar rounds, setting fires blazing and smoke rising over the US-occupied facility.
The correspondent had no information on casualties caused by the bombardment, but said that a US column then set out for the village in an attempt to surround the area and launch searches and raids hunting for the Resistance attackers. But a Resistance roadside bomb had been planted in their path and blew up as they approached the western entrance to ar-Rummanah. The explosion destroyed on American armored vehicle, killing or wounding its crew of six US troops. Then Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons, including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and pipe rockets attacked the American column, destroying two Humvees and killing or wounding eight US soldiers.

Residents of the city who witnessed the blast told Mafkarat al-Islam that an explosives-laden car that was parked by the side of the main road in the neighborhood exploded as a column of several US Humvees passed by, destroying one of the Humvees and disabling a second. Four US troops were killed and five more American soldiers were wounded in the attack.
As-Saqlawiyah.
Resistance sharp shooter reportedly kills Iraqi puppet soldier one day after shooting American in the same area.
An Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a member of the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard in the as-Saqlawiyah area, north of al-Fallujah Wednesday afternoon.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in as-Saqlawiyah reported that the soldier died instantly from the sharpshooter’s bullet. The correspondent reported that the same Iraqi sharpshooter had killed an American occupation soldier in the same area on Tuesday afternoon.
Baghdad.
Resistance bomb blasts US column in Jarf as-Sakhr, south of Baghdad Wednesday afternoon.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the main road between Jarf as-Sakhr and al-Iskandariyah south of Baghdad at 4pm local time on Wednesday afternoon.
Residents of the al-Bu Suda‘ village, which lies east of Jarf as-Sakhr, told the correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam that a bomb that was planted by the side of the main road to al-Iskandariyah in the south blew up by a passing column of four US armored vehicles and four Humvees.
The witnesses said that the blast set one US armored vehicle on fire, killing or wounding the six members of its crew.
Resistance bombards “green zone” on day Rumsfeld pays surprise visit to Baghdad.
In a bulletin posted at 11:55am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces a short while before had bombarded the area of the Republican Palace in Baghdad ミ known to the invaders as the “green zone” ミ where the headquarters of the occupation and its puppet “government” are located.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that four rockets of an unknown variety slammed into the US compound. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent near the “green zone” reported that plumes of black smoke could be seen rising over the area after the attack, as helicopters flew in overhead. The American aircraft were still flying over the area at the time the correspondent filed his report.
The bombardment came on the day when US Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld paid a surprise visit to occupied Iraq.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the area of the airport reported that 18 Grad rockets blasted into the central, southern, and northern parts of the airport, setting fires whose flames reached high into the sky. The sound of massive explosions could be heard coming from within the airport as US helicopters and fighter planes flocked in around the base where they could still be seen at the time of reporting. Unconfirmed reports stated that a number of buildings on the base had been damaged.
The bombardment came on the day when US Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld paid a surprise visit to occupied Iraq.
Body of another victim of puppet police torture, murder found.
Puppet so-called “police shock forces” raided the home of Sayf Sulayman ad-Dulaymi near the al-‘Asharah al-Mubashsharin Mosque in Baghdad’s al-‘Amil neighborhood and arrested him after a fight broke out between him and one of the officers in the puppet police detail, on Thursday, 21 July 2005. Two days later, on Saturday, 23 July, his body was found tossed in a garbage dump with clear signs of torture on his body.
Relatives of the victim confirmed that the puppet police who stormed his home were in fact looking for ad-Dulaymi’s brother. When one of the officers tried to barge shamelessly into a bedroom in the house without asking permission, the victim blocked his way, saying that there were women in the room. A fight broke out between them and the puppet police threatened that they would kill the man. He was then arrested and taken away to an unknown destination. Then his body was found two days later.
In a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Mafkarat al-Islam, the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ Scholars, the highest Sunni Muslim religious authority in occupied Iraq, noted that the vicious police murder took place in the context of a pattern of criminal abduction, arrest, and torture being carried out by the security organs of the puppet regime with the blessings of the occupation forces against innocent Iraqi citizens who refuse to sell out their religion and their country.
Iraqi Resistance forces attacked two buses carrying collaborator employees who work for the US forces in the notorious Abu Ghurayb prison on Tuesday, killing 23 of the collaborators and wounding 19.
The Abu Ghurayb correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported First Lieutenant ‘Uday Kasid of the Abu Ghurayb puppet police as saying that all the dead were prison guards working for the Americans in Abu Ghurayb. They were on their way home from their “work” when the Resistance caught up with them Tuesday evening.
For its part, the Iraqi Resistance issued a communiqu in which it said that the jailers killed in the Tuesday attack were all members of a large detachment specially designated to torture Iraqi Sunni prisoners in the occupation prisons in order to extract confessions from them.
The Iraqi puppet “government” issued a statement admitting the deaths of people it referred to as “government employees” in Abu Ghurayb.
Most of the Arab media reported disinformation spread on Tuesday that the targets of the attack were employees of a water treatment plant in Abu Ghurayb.
(See: “Resistance fighters ambush, kill 17 collaborator employees of Abu Ghurayb prison camp,” in Iraqi Resistance Report for Tuesday, 26 July 2005.
Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ calls for release of abducted Algerian envoys.
The Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ Scholars, the highest Sunni Muslim religious authority in occupied Iraq, called on the abductors of Algerian diplomats ‘Ali Bal‘arusi and ‘Izz ad-Din Balqadi not to kill them. The Board issued the statement in an attempt to prevent the execution of the men that was threatened in a statement attributed to the Resistance organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers on the Internet.
The Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’, according to a report carried by al-Jazeera satellite TV and monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam, said that the their call was prompted by their support for the Iraqi Jihadi effort and on the basis of the position that has been taken by the Algerian government that expressed its clear opposition to the occupation of Iraq and called on the foreign forces to leave.
Dr. Muthanna Harith ad-Darri, the information officer of the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ called on the abductors to release the diplomats.
Algeria’s Minister of State ‘Abd al-‘Aziz Balkhadim declared that the Algerian authorities had used “every means” to secure the “safe and sound” return of the Algerian diplomats. Balkhadim in a statement said that the Algiers government had been in contact with the puppet so-called “government” and tribal leaders. He indicated furthermore that Algeria had not limited its contacts to diplomatic channels but would not elaborate on what other contacts were made.
The organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers claimed responsibility for the abduction of the Algerian diplomats in Baghdad on Thursday, 21 July 2005. On Tuesday, the organization threatened to kill the diplomats near the Algerian diplomatic mission in Baghdad.
Algerian diplomats reported killed.
Later on Wednesday, the organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers issued a statement on the Internet saying that it had executed the two Algerian envoys whom they had abducted. Reuters, as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam, reported the al-Qa‘idah statement as saying, “Your brothers in al-Qa‘idah Organization in the Land of the Two Rivers . . . killed ‘Ali Bal‘arusi, the chief of the Algerian mission and the diplomatic attach ‘Izz ad-Din Balqadi.”
The al-Qa‘idah statement went on to say that they had seen how the world was aroused over the abduction of the two diplomats, but “when the worshippers of the Cross arrested a woman from Rawah and another woman from Kartaniyah no one said anything at all.”
The statement blamed the Algerian diplomats for being a part of that regime’s crackdown on Islamists, saying that Balqadi had taken part in two “massacres” and had been promoted from a lieutenant to a captain in Algerian intelligence for his role. The al-Qa‘idah statement said that the two Algerians had been abducted from out of the hands of the Iraqi puppet police in Baghdad.
Later Wednesday evening the office of the Algerian President announced the death of the two Algerian diplomats in Iraq.
Rumsfeld arrives in occupied Baghdad on unannounced visit.
US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday for a previously unannounced visit. In the occupied Iraqi capital, the Pentagon chief held talks with officials of the US military authorities and their Iraqi puppets. Immediately upon arrival Rumsfeld ordered the Iraqi puppet officials to complete writing up their “constitution” by the deadline of 15 August. Rumsfeld told the stooges: “we don’t want any delay. . . . “The time has come to move forward,” Reuters, as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam, reported.
Mafkarat al-Islam noted that the reason for the sudden Rumsfeld visit was not disclosed, but that it comes amidst an evident deterioration of the US situation in the country. Other observers point out that there have been increasing indications that the US, faced with relentless Resistance attacks is seeking face-saving ways to cover a withdrawal from Iraq that it increasingly recognizes is inevitable.
Evidence for that analysis was provided by US General George Casey, who spoke with reporters accompanying Rumsfeld, telling them that he believed a US troop withdrawal from Iraq could begin by the spring of 2006. He then hastened to hedge that statement with standard official US conditions such as “progress” by the puppet regime and the non-expansion of the Resistance.
American official talk about a withdrawal, however tentative, coupled with a recognition that the continuation of the Iraqi Resistance is inevitable, constitutes a significant admission on the part of a military leadership that imagined its occupation troops would be received with flowers and song.
US admits four American troops killed southwest of Baghdad on Sunday.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded in the path of an American patrol southwest of Baghdad on the night Sunday, 24 July 2005, the US military announced on Wednesday, according to a dispatch monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam.
Resistance video shows destruction of US supply truck in at-Taji Tuesday morning.
In a video broadcast Wednesday on al-Jazeera satellite TV the Iraqi Resistance organization the Islamic Army in Iraq claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on a US convoy that took place in at-Taji, a northern suburb of Baghdad at 8am Tuesday, 26 July 2005.
The video, monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam, showed the destruction of a US supply truck in at-Taji, some 20km north of Baghdad. The truck can be seen proceeding along an unpaved road when an explosion occurs throwing up clouds of smoke.

Al-Basrah.
Resistance assassinates puppet police official in al-Basrah.
Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed a high-ranking officer in the puppet so-called “ministry of internal affairs” as he was driving his car in the Sa‘d Square area of central al-Basrah on Wednesday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that three men who were accompanying the puppet official were wounded in the attack.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Basrah reported that the puppet “interior ministry” in the city is regarded as an executive agency of the Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades, the armed wing of the so-called “Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq” (SCIRI) whose forces invaded Iraq together with the American troops in spring 2003.
Iraqi puppet police later stormed into the al-Mustafa Mosque in the al-Qiblah neighborhood of al-Basrah on the pretext that they were looking for the killer of the puppet official.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the puppet forces sealed off the area of the city with 50 puppet police cars and then the puppet police drove people away from the mosque and kicked in the doors of the house of worship.
The puppet police also prevented the Imam of the mosque, a member of the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’, the highest Sunni Muslim authority in occupied Iraq, from entering the mosque after he returned from the local headquarters of the Board in al-Basrah. According to the Imam, the puppet police punched him in the face.
