Al-Fallujah.
US launches new drive in al-Fallujah, dubbed “Operation Gnawing Rats.”
US forces began a new military offensive against al-Fallujah that they have codenamed “gnawing rats” at dawn on Tuesday.
A major in the Iraqi puppet military told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the operation aims at killing or arresting armed Resistance members in al-Fallujah, which, he claimed, had recently become noticeably active in the city. The operation is expected to last for a very long time.
“Gnawing rats” was launched by the US Marines together with their puppet “Iraqi army” stooges, and as of 10am local time Tuesday morning they had arrested 50 “suspects,” based on claims that the US military has information about the presence of Resistance fighters in the city. Because of the new offensive al-Fallujah is again paralyzed while being subjected to the campaign of arbitrary arrests and raids, so far on more than 70 houses.
Local residents have accused ミ or rather confirmed ミ that the US and Iraqi puppet troops have not only been searching their houses but robbing them as well.
Resistance responds to US drive with bombardment of American camp.
In a dispatch posted at 11:35am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance forces had bombarded the US occupation camp north of al-Fallujah.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported witnesses as saying that eight blasts shook the American camp sending clouds of black smoke rising into the sky.
The attack was launched in response to the American offensive dubbed “Operation gnawing rats” that the US invaders launched on Tuesday morning.
New US commander arrives to oversee “Operation Gnawing Rats.”
In a dispatch posted at 5:35am Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Fallujah reported that a new American military commander had arrived in the city to inspect and review the latest developments as the new “Operation gnawing rats” gets underway.
The correspondent reported that an overflight of an unusually large group of American warplanes ミ six in total ミ plus a large number of helicopters provided air cover as more than 50 American occupation vehicles deployed, heralding the arrival of the US commander. Along with them came an unprecedented number of Iraqi puppet forces that also deployed in the city.
Meanwhile People in the neighborhoods of al- Mu‘allimin, al-Muhandisin, and ash-Shuhada’ were put under curfew and their shops and stores were ordered closed.
Three US Marines found dead Tuesday in western al-Fallujah.
In other news posted by Mafkarat al-Islam at 5:35pm Mecca time Tuesday, three US Marines were found dead on the banks of the Euphrates River in the area “between the bridges” in western al-Fallujah. The cause of their deaths was not clear, given the relative calm that has prevailed in the area since Tuesday morning.
A source in the Iraqi puppet army who asked not to be identified, told Mafkarat al-Islam, however, that the bodies of the three Marines were founded by pipes that drain waste water from the eastern side of the river.
Americans order: No press activity in al-Fallujah allowed without express permission by US invader authorities. Americans confiscate camera cell phones.
US forces announced that they would arrest any journalist who enters al-Fallujah without a pass issued by them, or who takes photographs, or conducts interviews. The American announcement added that all journalists must refer to US occupation forces outside al-Fallujah before carrying out any journalistic activity.
Civilians who entered al-Fallujah told Mafkarat al-Islam that the US occupation forces who searched them on their way into the city confiscated all camera cell phones.
US distributes “wanted” posters for Shaykh ‘Abdallah al-Jannabi as residents expect another American attack.
US occupation forces in al-Fallujah distributed photographs of the Chairman of the Consultative Council of Mujahideen of al-Fallujah, Shaykh ‘Abdallah al-Jannabi, offering a reward of US$50,000 for his arrest or for assistance in securing his arrest.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Fallujah reported a source in the puppet so-called “anti-terrorism force” in the city as saying that the Americans had intelligence information saying that Shaykh ‘Abdallah al-Jannabi, the Chairman of the Consultative Council of the Mujahideen and a number of former members of the council had entered the city and re-formed the Consultative Council of Mujahideen again. The source said that their information was that the Resistance leaders were preparing for a “decisive battle” with the invaders in the city.
Residents of al-Fallujah, however, considered the story as nothing more than a propaganda excuse that the Americans were going to use to justify yet another major attack on their city.
Resistance bombards US headquarters in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah Tuesday afternoon, night.
In a dispatch posted at 12:15am Wednesday morning, Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance had been fiercely bombarding the US forces in the ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah area, south of the city of al-Falllujah from Tuesday afternoon until the time of writing.

Iraqi Resistance forces shot down a US Apache helicopter over the western Iraqi city of Rawah under severe attack by the American invaders on Monday.
Workers for the Rawah Health Department told Mafkarat al-Islam’s correspondent in Rawah that Resistance machine gun fire brought down the American helicopter as it was hovering at low altitude over the old city in the middle of Rawah. After being struck by the ground fire, the helicopter caught fire, the witnesses reported.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent was unable to ascertain the fate of the crew. Meanwhile, for their part, Iraqi Resistance forces announced their responsibility for shooting down the Apache. In a communiqu, a copy of which was obtained by the correspondent, the Resistance said that the helicopter crashed into a vacant building causing no harm to civilians.

US military grant American citizenship to 147 non-US citizens.
The US military held a ceremony in occupied Baghdad on Monday to grant American citizenship en masse to 147 non-US citizens fighting in the US occupation army.
Agence France Presse (AFP) reported that soldiers, sailors, and airmen along with one Marine “simultaneously raised their right hands and swore to ‘support and defend the constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic.’”
AFP reported that the American military personnel who swore the oath and became Americans only on Monday came from 46 countries. AFP said that the single largest group was born in Mexico (27), followed by the Philippines (15), Jamaica (nine), Nicaragua (eight), and Nigeria (five). China, including Taiwan; India; and Viet Nam were other countries from which the participants originated, and AFP noted, “there was even one Iraqi-born soldier” among the new “Americans.”
Three officials from the Nationalization branch of the US Department of Homeland Security were present at the ceremony. US Lieutenant General John Vines, the commander of the invasion forces in Iraq told the crowd wished the crowd, “welcome to that exclusive club called American citizenship,” AFP reported.
American citizenship is one of the lures used by the US military to entice citizens of other countries, primarily those in the Third World, to serve the American occupation forces as cannon fodder. AFP noted that the US modified its citizenship laws in November 2003, a few months after its invasion of Iraq, in order to “make it easier for US military personnel to become citizens in times of war.” Linda Dougherty, a US official present at the swearing-in ceremony told the gathering that there are 45,000 non-US citizens currently serving in the US military, AFP reported.

A source in the Iraqi puppet army confirmed that all the Americans aboard the vehicle were killed.
The source claimed that the Americans arrested the man who detonated the bomb directly after the attack, after they encircled the area and found him with other people by the remote-control detonator.
But witnesses on the scene denied that claim, telling the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that the Americans had not arrested anyone after the attack.

Al-Basrah Province.
Umm Qasr.
Demonstrations continue as Kuwait persists in land-grab near Umm Qasr.
In a follow-up to Monday’s eruptions between hundreds of Iraqi demonstrators and Kuwaiti army personnel on the border in the Umm Qasr area, heated protests and demonstrations continued in Umm Qasr on Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported.
The Iraqi protests followed moves by Kuwaiti soldiers to come onto Iraqi territory and set up metal roadblocks that included electric light poles and earthen barriers some 2km inside Iraqi territory.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent on the Iraq-Kuwait border reported that Dawud Sulayman, a member of the puppet “municipal council” of Umm Qasr said that some of the Kuwaiti security forces provoked Iraqi citizens in the area, pointing the muzzles of their machine guns at their faces and driving Iraqis away by force. Some were beaten as well ミ a fact that inflamed the situation there.
Witnesses confirmed that four members of the Kuwaiti security forces were injured during the protests after Iraqis began throwing stones at them.

As to the identity of the demonstrators who protested the Kuwaiti incursion, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that “those who came out yesterday and today to demonstrate have been Iraqis ミ Sunni and Shi‘i ミ who live in this area.”
