・ Fighting erupts repeatedly in ar-Ramadi as Resistance blocks US assault on city street and attacks American patrol.

・ Seven US troops reported killed in martyrdom car bombing in al-A‘zamiyah midday Thursday.

Al-Anbar Province.

Hit.

Resistance bombards US base in Hit Thursday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired six heavy 120mm mortar rounds into the joint US-Iraqi puppet base west of the city of Hit at 5pm local time Thursday afternoon.

Residents of Hit told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bombardment set off violent explosion inside the facilty, sending clouds of smoke billowing into the sky. US helicopters were observed landing inside the base to evacuate American dead and wounded.

Al-Habbaniyah.

Resistance bombards the “as-Saqr” US airbase in al-Habbaniyah midday Thursday.

In a bulletin posted at 1:11pm Mecca time Thursday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment Iraqi Resistance forces were carrying out a heavy bombardment of the main US base in al-Habbaniyah ﾐ the so-called “as-Saqr” airbase.

Residents of al-Fallahat village, adjacent to the US base who were witnessing the attack, told Mafkarat al-Islam that eight mortar rounds had blasted into the US-occupied facility, setting off violent explosions and sending clouds of smoke billowing into the sky over various parts of the base.

Villagers ina l-Fallahat told the correspondent that the bombardment was still underway as he filed his report.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance fighters clash with US patrol in central ar-Ramadi early Thursday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US foot patrol in the middle of ar-Ramadi at about 2pm local time Thursday afternoon.

Shopkeepers in the center of town told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that about 15 Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons battled the American foot patrol that was backed up by Humvee vehicles.

The firefight lasted for about 10 minutes during which time the Resistance fighters killed nine American troops and wounded six more. The witnesses told the correspondent that three of the Resistance fighters were also wounded in the engagement.

Fierce fighting breaks out in ar-Ramadi Thursday morning.

In a bulletin posted at 10:30am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment violent fighting was raging in the middle of ar-Ramadi, west of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam, who was on the scene of the combat said that it broke out when US forces stormed onto 17 July Street at 10am local time. The Resistance blocked the path of the Americans, disabling one US armored vehicle, and then other Resistance fighters joined the fight against the American attackers.

The correspondent reported that a number of civilians had been killed in the fighting as had some of the Resistance fighters. Their number is estimated at seven. A reliable source told the correspondent that the Resistance fighters, for their part, had destroyed or disabled four American vehicles as of the time he filed his bulletin.

Baghdad.

Four US troops reported killed in Resistance roadside bombing in ‘Arab Jabbur.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US armored column in the ‘Arab Jabbur area southwest of Baghdad at about 6pm local time Thursday afternoon.

‘Arab Jabbur residents told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb, which was planted by the side of the highway leading to the center of Baghdad, blew up under one of the seven American armored vehicles and two Humvees in the US column. They said that the blast destroyed the armored vehicle completely, killing four US troops and wounding two more.

Resistance ambushes American fuel convoy in al-Ishaqi Thursday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance fighters launched two consecutive attacks on a US truck convoy hauling fuel to US occupation forces on the main road in the al-Ishaqi area in the north of Baghdad at about 3pm local time.

Residents of al-Ishaqi who witnessed the attacks told Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and BKC machine guns. The Resistance attack left two of the truck ablaze and three US troops dead and four others wounded.

Seven US troops reported killed in martyrdom car bombing in al-A‘zamiyah midday Thursday.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-packed car into a group of US soldiers in the al-A‘zamiyah section of northern Baghdad at 1:30pm local time Thursday.

Shopkeepers on ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz Street who witnessed the Resistance attack told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the martyrdom attacker drove an Opel car into a group of US soldiers on the street, taking them with complete surprise and blowing up among them. The witnesses said that the blast destroyed two Humvees, killing seven US troops and wounding four more.

American troops immediately moved in after the attack to seal off the area and prevent local people and journalists from approaching. US helicopters were seen landing in the area to haul away the wreckage of the vehicles and the bodies of the dead and wounded American troops.

Resistance bomb attacks around “green zone” Thursday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance car bomb that was parked by a US checkpoint at the entrance to the Republican Palace district in Baghdad ﾐ the area known to the invaders as the “green zone” where the Americans and their puppet regime have their headquarters ﾐ exploded on Thursday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 11:16am Mecca time Thursday morning, the Saudi News Agency (WAS) reported a source in the puppet so-called “Iraqi interior ministry” as saying that the blast wounded five persons in the high-security area.

The source added that seconds after the car bomb went off, an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter blew himself up in front of the as-Salihiyah puppet police station, about 100 meters from the scene of the first explosion.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported that after the car bomb exploded two Resistance martyrdom fighters blew themselves up by a joint US-Iraqi puppet police checkpoint specially set up for journalists, collaborators, and profiteer contractors who work in the “green zone.” Al-Jazeera noted that still other sources said that the bomb explosion was followed by a mortar attack.

Baghdad residents to suffer extended hours of regular power outage due to “sabotage.”

A source in the puppet so-called “Iraqi electricity ministry” announced on Thursday that one of the electricity lines carrying power to central Iraq, including the Baghdad area, had been sabotaged.

According to a dispatch posted at 12:54pm Mecca time, the Saudi News Agency (WAS) reported that as a result of the sabotage, the regular hours during which electricity is cut off from residents of the Iraqi capital would be extended. Instead of two hours without electric power, residents will now have to do without electricity for three hours every day.

The Qatari News Agency (Qana) quoted a puppet official in the ministry as saying that an attack had caused a loss of between 400 and 500 megawatts of power in the Baghdad and central Iraq area and that work was underway to repair the damage.

Al-Qa‘idah denies involvement in Wednesday car bomb attack that left 27 civilians dead.

The Iraqi Resistance organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers issued a communiqu on an Islamist website on the Internet Thursday saying that it had nothing whatsoever to do with the car bombing in Baghdad on Wednesday that took the lives of 27 civilians, most of them children, in the course of attacking a US checkpoint.

Reuters, as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam, reported the internet announcement as saying that “the program of al-Qa‘idah is known to all near and far as it makes war on the enemies of God the Exalted, the Crusaders and their tails in the puppet army and police.” The statement said that the organization’s leader Abu Mus‘ab az-Zarqawi is “absolutely insistent that members of the general public not be targeted in attacks.” The statement said that Abu Mus‘ab “personally plans and directs all the attacks of al-Qa‘idah in Iraq.”

Italian Defense Minister meets Rumsfeld in Pentagon, pledges no reduction in troop strength in Iraq.

After a meeting with US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, Italian Defense Minister Antonio Martino asserted that Italian occupation troops would remain in Iraq as long as “they were needed.” Having received input from the American chief of the aggressive NATO pact in meetings with Rumsfeld in the Pentagon, Martino said “we will not withdraw from there or reduce our forces before the time we have set.”

Martino said that the Italian occupation troops, who are garrisoned in the southern province of Dhi Qar, would remain in Iraq “with no change,” backing away from pledges made by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi at the end of the Gleneagles G8 summit in Britain just after the 7 July London bombings that Italian forces would begin withdrawing from Iraq in September.

Puppet official admits: “Resistance operates with complete freedom striking wherever and whenever they like.”

The head of the puppet “political and moral guidance” department in the puppet so-called “Iraqi ministry of defence” announced on Thursday that US and Iraqi puppet forces are subjected to between 60 and 65 daily Resistance rocket and car bomb attacks, belt-bombings, and sharpshooter assaults.

The admission came in a press conference held in Baghdad by Hamid al-Qaysi, the “guidance” official in the “ministry,” that was attended by the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam and other journalists.

Al-Qaysi told the press that “anyone who says that the attacks by the armed groups are declining is dreaming,” adding that the Resistance fighters, “still move about with complete freedom and carry out any operation they want in any place they want after all the offensives that the Marines and our Iraqi puppet armed forces have carried out against them throughout the country.”

US forces raid al-Qadisiyah Fire Station.

US forces raided the al-Qadisiyah Station of the Iraqi Fire Department and lead away a number of puppet police men from there to an unknown destination. Captain Su‘ud al-Jughayfi, the Director of the Fire Station, was put under house arrest. In a dispatch posted at 16:52GMT Thursday, the Qatari News Agency (Qana) reported that the Americans offered no explanation for their attack on the Fire Department and its personnel.

Diyala Province.

Al-Miqdadiyah.

Land mine blasts US armored Humvee Thursday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 10:35am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance land mine exploded by US troops in the city of al-Miqdadiyah, northeast of Ba‘qubah.

A source in the Iraqi puppet army told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Iraqi Resistance planted the mine, which was detonated by remote control, and set it off by a US Humvee, destroying the vehicle and killing the four Americans aboard.

The Resistance organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers issued a communiqu, a copy of which was obtained by the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam, taking responsibility for the attack. The communiqu also said that all the Americans aboard the armored Humvee had been killed.

Ba‘qubah.

Resistance bomb leaves four US troops dead Thursday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column on the road leading from the center of Ba‘qubah to Buhriz in the north at 9am local time Thursday morning.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb, which was planted by the side of the road, blew up as a column of eight US Humvees passed by. The explosion totally destroyed one of the Humvees, killing its crew of four US soldiers.

Wasit Province.

As-Suwayrah.

Resistance sharpshooter kills Ukrainian soldier in as-Suwayrah Thursday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a Ukrainian occupation soldier on al-Qassabin Street in the middle of as-Suwayrah, south of Baghdad at 9am local time Thursday morning.

Residents of as-Suwayrah told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter killed one of the Ukrainian occupation soldiers taking part in a patrol on al-Qassabin Street in the city market. After being hit, the Ukrainian fell dead instantly.

Ukrainian occupation forces immediately surrounded the area and began searching houses and shops nearby but found no trace of the Resistance attacker.

Ninwa Province.

Tall ‘Afar.

Expelling all journalists from the city, US and stooge forces stage mass arrests, bomb raids on civilian population of Tall ‘Afar. Population flees city now closed to reporters.

US occupation forces together with their Iraqi stooges continue their extensive offensive against the Sunni population of the city. On Wednesday evening the US and Iraqi puppet forces carried out a large-scale raid on the Sunnis, rounding up 92 young men charging them with “financing” the Resistance ﾐ which the Americans call “terrorism,” and with participating in the Resistance.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that doctors, professors, teachers, university students, and religious scholars are among those arrested in the American offensive. The task of rounding up and arresting people has largely been delegated to the Iraqi puppet forces, most of them actually members of Shi‘i chauvinist militia, eager to stir up sectarian strife in the country.

Meanwhile US warplanes bombed three houses in Tall ‘Afar on Wednesday night, killing sveen children, three women and a number of men inside. As a result of the deadly American air raids and the campaign of mass arrests, city residents began to leave their homes en masse Thursday morning, loading up belongings and fleeing aboard large and medium-sized trucks. The correspondent noted that US forces and their stooges have prohibited entry of all journalists into Tall ‘Afar and have expelled the journalists already inside the city, so as to have a free hand to abuse the local population at will.

Resistance attack leaves three puppet policemen dead.

Iraqi Resistance fighters opened fire on a car carrying puppet police officers in the south of Kirkuk in northern Iraq on Thursday. In a dispatch posted at 12:53pm Mecca time Thursday, the Saudi News Agency (WAS) reported a puppet security source as saying that three puppet policemen were killed and two more wounded in the attack.

Resistance attack leaves puppet soldier, woman employee of puppet army dead.

Iraqi Resistance forces opened fire on a car headed towards the Iraqi puppet army headquarters in the center of Kirkuk on Thursday. In a dispatch posted at 12:53pm Mecca time Thursday, the Saudi News Agency (WAS) reported a puppet security source as saying that one Iraqi puppet soldier and a woman who works in the headquarters of the Iraqi puppet forces were killed in the attack.

Resistance attack leaves puppet policeman dead in al-Basrah.

Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed one Iraqi puppet policeman and wounded another in an attack in al-Basrah, according to a puppet police source quoted by the Qatari News Agency (Qana) in a dispatch posted at 13:51GMT Thursday.
