"Rockets Hits Japanes Base in Samawa Causing Casualities"
The base of the Japanese occupation forces in Samawa was hit at 2:30 P.M on Friday local time by a violent wave of rockets and shells. The correspondent of Mufakarat al Islam in Samawa said the attack lasted about 75 minutes and caused columns of dense smoke erupts inside the base followed by series of explosions there. Sounds of warning heard from the base.
A source from the base, who is a translator working for the Japanese-Iraqi Committee for the Human Activities, confirmed to our correspondent that the attack killed and injured some Japanese soldiers. He didn't mention any numbers. The Iraqi forces that is stationed near the base also confirmed that.
Our correspondent obtained a statement from an Iraqi group called itself "The Brigades of Muhammad the Prophet of Allah (God)" claimed responsibility for the attack. The name of this group has not been known before.
Our correspondent added that the rather long time of this attack indicates a change in the stance of the Arab Shiite tribes that live near the base. They are believed to have been assisting the Iraqi resistance in this attack. This also explains the high number of attacks launched recently and turned Samawa into "a heavy burden" on the U.S Forces that used to call Samawa as the "white butterfly."
It's also worth pointing out to increasing objection to the American occupation among Shiite sects. in southern Iraq, such as the followers of "Muqtada Al Sadr" and "Jawad Al Khalisi" and "Ahmad Al Hasani Al Baghdadi". The last one has issued a fatwa (a religious order/authorization) calling on the Iraqis to "fight the American occupation and its accomplices, and join the Iraqi Sunnis in "the holy duty" of fighting the Americans.
The occupation seems to have miscalculated the Shiite reaction in southern Iraq.
