Al-Hadithah

Four US troops reported killed in Resistance roadside bombing Sunday morning_

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US armored column in the city of al-Hadithah, 250km west of Baghdad at 10am local time Sunday morning.

Witnesses told the al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb was planted in the Barwanah area in the east of al-Hadithah by the side of the road leading to the downtown area of the city. The witnesses said that it blew up when a column of US armored vehicles passed by.

Owners of groves in the Barwanah area said that the blast, set one American armored vehicle on fire, killing four US troops and wounding another two.

Al-Habbaniyah

Resistance bombards US base in al-Habbaniyah Sunday afternoon

Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded the US as-Saqr air base in al-Habbaniyah, 75km west of Baghdad with six medium range Katyusha rockets at 3pm local time Sunday afternoon.

Residents of the village of al-Fallahat, that is located near the US base, told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Habbaniyah that the impact of the Resistance rockets produced powerful explosions in the US-occupied base and those were followed by numerous secondary explosions as US munitions began going off.

Clouds of smoke billowed into the sky over the base and swarms of US helicopters took to the air in search of the Iraqi Resistance attackers but found nothing.

Ar-Ramadi

The Army of the Ansar as-Sunnah denies reports of meetings with American commanders

An Iraqi Resistance organization denied press reports concerning alleged meetings between four US representatives and commanders of detachments of the Iraqi Resistance in the city of Balad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad, reported that the Army of the Ansar as-Sunnah Partisans of the Prophet\'s Practice in Iraq had distributed an statement in local mosques that denied the media reports about their having taken part in meetings with American representatives.

The statement, dated Sunday, 17 Jumada al-Ula 1426 hijri, 26 June 2005, said that "the media had carried a story claiming that four American military commanders had held two meetings with Jihadi groups in Iraq, specifically in the area of Balad, north of Baghdad. The media reports said that among those Resistance organizations was the Army of the Paristans of the Sunnah, and that the discussions dealt with setting down a time table for the withdrawal of US forces, reparations for the Iraqis, etc."

The statement went on: "Jihad is the only way to return greatness and respect to this nation. Without them the nation is a weak, cringing thing the way it is now. The Prophet Muhammad, may God's peace and blessings be upon him, said `no people have abandoned Jihad without being brought low.' These lies being circulated by the media are nothing but a clear proof of the confusion and hopelessness of the Crusaders' situation now that they are increasingly being beaten and exhausted, and now that the American military machine has proven incapable of confronting the Mujahideen, and now that they have lost faith in the puppet government that they have imposed. This has all come about only thanks to the grace of God the Almighty, and after that to what your brothers in the jihad have done on God's path, seeking one of the two bounties: victory or martyrdom."

The statement was signed by Abu `Abdallah al-Hasan ibn Mahmud, the Amir of the Army of the Ansar as-Sunnah.

The statement was prompted by a story in the London Sunday Times that claimed that US military and intelligence officers had held talks with Resistance commanders in Balad.

Resistance bomb leaves two US soldiers dead in ar-Ramadi Sunday afternoon

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the al-Mal`ab area in the middle of ar-Ramadi at 5pm local time Sunday afternoon. Residents of al-Mal`ab told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb went off as a US patrol was driving past, destroying one Humvee and killing two US troops and wounding another four American soldiers.

Al-Khalidiyah

Resistance mortar barrage destroys US encampment Sunday afternoon

Iraqi Resistance fighters mounted a mortar attack on a US encampment in the Kawlikum area east of al-Khalidiyah at about 2pm local time Sunday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Khalidiyah, 70km west of Baghdad reported residents of the Kawlikum area as saying that the US encampment, located at the entrance to their area was blasted by 82mm mortar rounds, destroying the camp and setting two US Humvees ablaze. The bombardment killed or wounded about eight US troops.

Hit

Resistance hits US targets in Hit and al-Baghdadi area on Saturday

Iraqi Resistance forces mounted a series of attacks on US occupation targets in the area of Hit in western Iraq on Saturday, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city reported.

At 12 noon local time Saturday an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the ash-Shuqufiyah area in the middle of Hit, destroying a Humvee and killing two US troops and wounding another three American soldiers.

In another attack, a detachment of Resistance fighters bombarded the US base located west of Hit with six rockets, believed to be medium-range Grad missiles. The barrage sent plumes of smoke rising over the American-occupied facility, and numerous helicopters were called in to evacuated the dead and wounded to the US base in the al-Baghdadi area to the west.

The correspondent also reported that in the al-Baghdadi area itself, Iraqi Resistance fighters mounted a mortar barrage on the US `Ayn al-Asad air base on Saturday sending plumes of smoke into the sky.

Baghdad

Resistance blasts US-Iraqi puppet command post in al-`Amiriyah late Sunday afternoon

Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded a joint US Iraqi puppet force checkpoint in the al-`Amiriyah section of western Baghdad on Sunday afternoon.

Residents of al-`Amiriyah told Mafkarat al-Islam that the joint command post located at the western entrance to al-`Amiriyah came under Resistance bombardment at 6pm Sunday afternoon.

The Resistance fired six 82mm mortar rounds into the checkpoint, destroying a US personnel carrier and an Iraqi troop transport in addition to killing one US soldier and wounding five other American troops. Three Iraqi puppet troops were killed and two more wounded in the barrage.

Resistance bomb blasts US column in Abu Ghurayb, killing three Americans Sunday afternoon

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US armored column in the Abu Ghurayb area just west of Baghdad at 3pm local time Sunday afternoon. Witnesses told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb went off just as a column of four US armored vehicles was passing by,completely destroying one of the vehicles and killing three US troops and wounding three more.

Resistance bombards US base in at-Taji early Sunday afternoon

Iraqi Resistance forces fired seven mortar rounds into the US base in the at-Taji area, in the northern outskirts of Baghdad at about 2pm local time Sunday.

Witnesses told the Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance blasted the US base with seven heavy 120mm mortar rounds, setting off violent explosions inside the US-occupied facility and sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

Resistance eliminates puppet police colonel in Baghdad Sunday morning

Iraqi Resistance fighter attacked Colonel Riyad `Abd al-Karim, the puppet "Deputy Chief of Rescue Police" in Baghdad's al-Mashtal district on Sunday morning.

A source in the puppet so-called "Iraqi interior ministry" told the Saudi News Agency (WAS) that the `Abd al-Karim received multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to al-Kindi Hospital in the occupied Iraqi capital where he later died, according to a report posted at 10:04am Sunday morning Mecca time.

Resistance fighters ambush joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol at noon Sunday

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet force patrol at the northern entrance to the town of al-Latifiyah, about 25km south of Baghdad at 12 noon local time Sunday.

Witnesses told the al-Latifiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons ambushed the joint patrol as it was entering the city. The ensuing engagement lasted about 15 minutes, during which time the Resistance fighters set one American Humvee and two puppet troop carriers ablaze. Threee US troops and six Iraqi puppet soldiers were killed and five other American soldiers and six additional puppet troops were wounded in the attack.

The witnesses added that the Resistance fighters withdrew from the scene without suffering any casualties. Afterwards, US forces encircled the northern parts of al-Latifiyah and mounted a search for the attackers but found nothing.

Resistance fighters ambush US truck convoy midday Sunday

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US truck convoy hauling provisions and supplies to US occupation troops in the area of al-Ishaqi, south of Samarra\', at 1:30pm Sunday afternoon local time

Local motorists who happened to be driving in the area at the time of the attack told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that about six Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons, including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades, attacked the American supply convoy, setting two trucks on fire and killing four drivers.

Immediately after the ambush, US troops surrounded the area and prevented local residents and journalists from approaching. They then evacuated the wreckage of the trucks and the bodies of the dead drivers.

Ad-Dulu`iyah

Resistance bomb demolishes US Humvee killing four US troops midday Sunday

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the ad-Dulu`iyah area, south of Samarra' at 1pm local time Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in ad-Dulu`iyah that a patrol of four US Humvees was proceeding along an unpaved road in as-Salam village to the south of ad-Dulu`iyah when a Resistance bomb that had been planted by the side of the road exploded, destroying one of the American veicles and killing its four-man crew.

Balad

Resistance shoots down US Black Hawk helicopter Sunday afternoon

In a dispatch posted at 6:10pm Sunday afternoon, Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters in the area of Balad, 60km north of Baghdad shot down a US Black Hawk helicopter as it was flying over the city Sunday.

Witnesses told the Balad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that they saw the US helicopter going down with fire blazing out of its tail.

A source in the Iraqi puppet military confirmed to Mafkarat al-Islam that the helicopter was shot down over the village of al-Bu Hishmah east of Balad.

After the downing, US Marine armored forces encircled al-Bu Hishmah village and mounted a search for the crew of the downed aircraft, but at the time of writing their fate was still unknown.

Resistance bomb blasts US patrol north of Balad Sunday morning

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol north of Balad at 9am local time Sunday morning.

Witnesses in Balad told Mafkarat al-Islam that a patrol of six US Humvees surrounded what they thought was the house of an Iraqi Resistance fighter in the area of al-Muhammadi, north of Balad on Sunday morning.

The Americans searched the home and after determining to their satisfaction that no one lives there, they left. As the departed from the area, however, an Iraqi Resistance bomb blew up by their patrol, destroying one of the vehicles and killing two US soldiers and wounding a third.

Resistance car bomb leaves two US troops dead in Kirkuk Sunday afternoon

An Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet force patrol in Kirkuk, 225km northeast of Baghdad at 4pm local time Sunday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Kirkuk reported residents of the al-Lahib neighborhood in the city as saying that an explosives-packed car that was parked by the side of the road leading to the center of the city blew up as a joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol passed by.

The blast set one American Humvee ablaze and inflicted heavy damage on two pickups belonging to the Iraqi puppet forces. Two US troops were killed and three more American soldiers wounded and four Iraqi puppet soldiers were killed and four more wounded in the attack.

Resistance bomb blasts joint US-Iraqi puppet police patrol in Mosul Sunday morning

In a dispatch posted at 11:35am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom bomber drove an explosives-packed car into a joint US-Iraqi puppet police patrol near the al-Hudaba\' puppet police station in the middle of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.

A source in the puppet police who refused to be identified, told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast set one American Humvee and two Iraqi puppet police pickups on fire. The source said that three US soldiers and five puppet policemen were killed. In addition, two more American soldiers and nine more puppet policemen were wounded.

An earlier dispatch, posted at 6:44am GMT by Quds Press reported that Mosul awoke on Sunday morning to a powerful explosion that occurred when an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter blasted his explosives-laden car into the wall of the al-Hudaba\' puppet police station, killing four puppet policemen and wounding 14 more.

A puppet police source told Quds Press that the blast occurred at the puppet police station just as morning roll call was underway, killing or wounding a large number of puppet police and bringing down a part of the building itself. The source said that the Resistance attacker blasted the building from the rear because he was unable to get in through the front gate due to barriers and concrete obstacles set up to prevent such attacks. Quds Press quoted a local medical source as saying that at least one civilian was among those killed in the attack.

Later in the day, in an update posted at 16:08GMT the website for al-Jazeera satellite TV quoted American sources as saying that 13 puppet policemen had been killed in the Resistance car bombing near the al-Hudaba\' puppet police station.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet police patrol during Saturday-Sunday night

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet police patrol on the Sanaharib Bridge on the left bank of the Tigris River in Mosul during Saturday-Sunday night. Quds Press reported that the blast killed four puppet policemen and wounded a number of others.

Resistance martyrdom fighter blasts puppet base, collaborators Sunday

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter blew himself up in a parking lot outside an Iraqi puppet military base near Mosul at around 8am local time Sunday, the American Associated Press (AP) reported. The AP quoted US army Captain Mark Walter, an official American spokesman as saying that the explosion left 16 dead and seven wounded, most of them collaborators who worked at the site for the puppet forces.

Resistance martyrdom fighter kills five puppet police in Mosul Hospital Sunday afternoon

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter wearing an explosive belt blew himself up in a room reserved for puppet policemen at the Mosul al-Jumhuri Teaching Hospital at 2:15pm local time Sunday afternoon the American Associated Press (AP) reported. Brigadier General Wathiq Muhammad Tahr told the AP that five puppet policemen were killed in the attack.

Tall `Afar

Resistance bomb kills two US troops

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded next to a US patrol in the city of Tall `Afar early Sunday, totally destroying one US armored vehicle and killing two American troops, a source in the city told Quds Press according to a report posted at 5:12am GMT.

After the blast, the source said, American troops initially opened fire indiscriminately around the area and then got into a firefight with Resistance fighters. In the course of the shooting, one Iraqi was killed and four others wounded, the source told Quds Press. After the engagement, US forces encircled the area a US helicopter arrived.
