Al-Anbar Province.
Ar-Ramadi.
Resistance fighters, tribesmen trap US troops; 30 Americans reported dead; large amounts of arms, equipment, and maps are seized.
Iraqi Resistance forces and tribesmen of ar-Ramadi ambushed a group of US troops at 9am Tuesday morning using an elaborate ruse to lure them into a deadly trap.
Tribesmen and residents of ar-Ramadi told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance fighters and tribesmen began at 9 o’clock to fire into the air, making the sounds of battle in an effort to draw US troops into their trap. Resistance fighters positioned themselves in the area, having booby-trapped the streets leading to the zone of the ambush with bombs and land mines.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance forces drew the Americans into the area by sending one person to run up to them to appeal for help, telling them that fighting was going on because Resistance fighters had attacked the ar-Ramadi tribes who live in that area and were trying to massacre them and steal their money and cars.
When the Americans got to the area, they suddenly found that the “fighters” on both sides of the road all turned their medium and heavy machine guns, rockets, and grenades at the Americans, as bombs and land mines started to explode under their vehicles.
A total of seven US vehicles were destroyed and more than 30 US troops were killed in the trap, Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam cited local residents as saying that all of the Americans in the column were killed or wounded and the Resistance was able to seized a large quantity of weapons, equipment, and maps that had been in the possession of the American troops.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance battles US as Americans seal off ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 4:55pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a violent firefight raged for a quarter of an hour between Iraqi Resistance forces in al-‘Amiriyah on the one hand and US occupation troops and their “national guard stooges” on the other.
The fighting began after US occupation troops and puppet so-called Iraq national guards encircled the residential area in al-‘Amiriyah, south of al-Fallujah, cutting all roads leading to the district according to the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the area.
During the battle, Resistance fighters fired mortars and medium weapons, sending plumes of black smoke rising over the American and Iraqi puppet positions.
The correspondent had no information on the extent of US casualties, but noted that the Americans responded fiercely to the mortar barrage mounted by the Resistance. Aimed at Resistance positions, rocket fire from American Apache helicopters and shells from US tanks set a local farm ablaze.
At the time of reporting, the correspondent noted that US and Iraqi puppet forces were still encircling al-‘Amiriyah but they had opened passes through which people wishing to get in or out could go. Nevertheless, they opened fire on two civilian cars that tried to go through one of those passes along a dirt road between al-‘Amiriyah and the environs of the settlement. The first car shot at belonged to an Iraqi family, the second was a car in which some Iraqi youths were riding.
Baghdad.
Battle rages in Abu Ghurayb Tuesday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 11:35am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment a fierce battle was underway between Iraqi Resistance fighters and US occupation troops together with their Iraqi stooges in Abu Ghurayb, 30km west of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the fighting is centered in the middle of the town and that several US vehicles had been destroyed. A number of Resistance fighters had also been killed in the course of the combat.
The correspondent confirmed that the Resistance had been able to bombard the notorious American Abu Ghurayb prison camp sending smoke rising from the facility.
The combat erupted when US and Iraqi puppet troops tried to enter houses in the town to search them following the killing by Resistance fighters on Monday of the Iraqi puppet commander of the occupation’s repressive “Operation Lightning.”
(See “Resistance wipes out commander of “Operation Lightning” in Abu Ghurayb,” in the Iraqi Resistance Report for Monday, 13 June 2005.)
In a dispatch posted at 8:15pm Mecca time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Tuesday morning’s battles in Abu Ghurayb inflicted casualties and material losses on the Americans.
The puppet mayor of Abu Ghurayb, Muhammad ash-Shamari, told Mafkarat al-Islam that more than 23 Americans were killed in the fighting on Tuesday and that there were Americans who were wounded in addition. The puppet mayor added that a number of US armored vehicles were destroyed in the fighting.
Ash-Shamari said that three Iraqi civilians had been killed in the battle, three houses used to store electrical equipment were destroyed, as were a number of commercial shops.
For its part the Iraqi Resistance reported that five fighters were martyred and 11 others wounded in the battle ミ three of them seriously.
The correspondent noted that the Iraqi Resistance fighters were able to withdraw from the zone of battle quickly, after a massive US military column showed up on the scene and tried to join the battle against them. In keeping with standard rules of guerrilla warfare, the Resistance fighters pulled out as soon as they learned of the arrival of the overwhelming US reinforcements together with armored vehicles.
Bomb blasts US patrol in ad-Durah Tuesday morning.
An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a US patrol in the al-Mahdiyah neighborhood in the middle of the southern Baghdad suburb or ad-Durah at 10am local time Tuesday morning. Iraqi Resistance forces fired 11 rockets and mortar rounds into the headquarters of the so-called “wolf brigade” elite puppet police in Baghdad’s al-Mansur district on Tuesday. A colonel in the Iraqi puppet army told Mafkarat al-Islam that the barrage killed 24 wolf brigade members.
The correspondent personally saw plumes of smoke rising over the outfit’s headquarters, set up in what formerly was the headquarters of the Republic of Iraq’s Intelligence Service prior to the American invasion in spring 2003. US helicopters could be seen prowling the skies over the installation searching in vain for the Resistance fighters who attacked the puppet forces.
Puppet police announce the discovery of bodies of collaborators, survivors’ story at variance with official Reuters version.
Reuters reported that the Iraqi puppet police on Tuesday announced the “discovery” of the bodies of 24 persons, 17 of whom were known to have been employees of a so-called Iraqi “security company.”
According to a report by the British news agency, the puppet so-called Iraqi interior ministry announced that its puppet police had discovered 17 bodies near al-Habbaniyah, 75km west of Baghdad late on Monday night.
The spokesman for the puppet “ministry” said that the dead had been employees of the Sudayr Security company, a contractor that undertakes to protect US military supply convoys that pass through their area.
“Moheet,” an Arabic news network on the Internet, however, reported sources in the al-Yarmuk Hospital in Baghdad as saying that their hospital had received some 24 bodies of Iraqis in the last 24 hours. The source said that 17 corpses were brought in on Monday, all of them truck drivers who had been hauling provisions for the puppet so-called “Iraqi defense ministry.”
The hospital sources said that the drivers were killed near al-Khalidiyah, 70km west of Baghdad a week ago on Tuesday, 7 June 2005, in an attack on their convoy hauling provisions to the Iraqi puppet forces in the al-Habbaniyah base, 75km west of Baghdad.
Hospital sources told Moheet that four drivers who survived the attack said that about 60 Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed the convoy, attacking them with anti-tank grenades and light arms. When drivers of the trucks jumped out to try to run away, they blew themselves up on land mines that had been planted beside the road.
The hospital source told Moheet, contrary to claims of the puppet ministry reported by Reuters, that the 17 bodies of the drivers had been in the custody of the US troops for seven days when local people found them and brought them to the al-Yarmuk hospital from the US base in Balad, 70km north of Baghdad.
Seven more bodies were found near the city of Hit on the Euphrates River on Monday night, the puppet police reported. Six of the dead were Iraqis and the seventh a Nepalese, all of whom worked for the ‘Iraquna cellular telephone company.
Moheet’s source in al-Yarmuk hospital confirmed that those seven bodies were brought in on Monday. The source told Moheet that the seven were working setting up towers for a portable telephone company in the area between Hit and al-Qa’im in far western Iraq. The hospital source said that the six Iraqis were shot to death but the throat of the Nepalese was slit.
The ‘Iraquna phone company has in the past received threats from the Iraqi Resistance for its cooperation with US occupation forces and for complying with US occupation regulations.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV, as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the American and stooge troops “opened fire intensively into the air as the arrived and as they left the house in order to frighten the residents. The occupation troops and their stooges stripped the guards who are supposed to protect the house of their weapons.
Al-Jazeera reported that Shaykh Harith ad-Darri was not home at the time of the raid.
This was the fourth time that US and puppet troops had raided ad-Darri’s home as their campaign of terror against the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ and its General Secretary continue.
Puppet regime expects to resume airline service to Europe in June.
The puppet “government” of Iraq announced on Tuesday that “Iraqi Airways” would resume commercial flights to Europe for the first time in about 15 years. Iraqi airliners were banned from the skies by sanctions imposed by the United States on the world through the United Nations in 1990.
Now that the country is under an illegal American occupation, the European states are ready to receive commercial aircraft operating under the auspices of the American puppet regime.
Salam al-Maliki, the puppet so-called “Iraqi minister of transportation,” told the puppet so-called “national assembly” in occupied Baghdad that he hoped that flights would resume to cities in Europe and what he called the “Middle East.” Maliki said that there were plans to open routes between occupied Baghdad and Dubay, Frankfurt, Tehran, Istanbul, Beirut, and Cairo by the end of June, but he did not specify whether Iraqi Airways or some other carriers would be flying those routes.
In a dispatch published in the Khaleej Times Tuesday, Reuters reported that Iraqi Airways had already been undertaking flights to Amman, Jordan, and Damascus, Syria and began this week running flights within Iraq to al-Basrah. The British news agency said that Royal Jordanian Airlines, the only foreign commercial passenger carrier landing in occupied Baghdad, employs specially trained aircrew and combat zone flying techniques on the flight.

The statement attributed to the Partisans of the Sunnah threatened Shi‘i and Kurdish Peshmergah “idolater” guards that there would be “no place where they would not be targeted whether they put on military or civilian clothes, whether they were in their camp or out picking up the pay that they receive for selling out their religion, their honor, their families, and their country.”
