Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Qa’im.
Resistance ambulance bomb blasts US column in al-Qa’im early Monday.
A powerful Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter driving an explosives-packed vehicle blew up next to a US military column west of al-Qa’im on the border with Syria Monday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 9:59am Mecca time, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Qa’im reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army who did not want to be identified said that an ambulance belonging to the puppet so-called “Iraqi ministry of health” approached a US column and turned on its siren as if it were transporting an emergency case. The Americans therefore got out of the way of the ambulance. As the vehicle approached, it veered to the right and into the American column where it blew up.
The correspondent reported that the blast destroyed two armored Humvees and disabled a third, inflicting 11 US casualties ミ some killed some wounded. Residents of al-Qa’im confirmed that the explosion was very large.
Afterwards, US troops surrounded the whole are and began arresting people, including the manager of the al-Qa’im ambulance service and a number of doctors on the charge that they had a hand in the attack.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance land mine blasts US Marine patrol in al-Fallujah Monday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance land mine exploded by a US military patrol on 40 Street in the middle of al-Fallujah at 9am Monday morning, destroying one American military vehicle and killing four US Marines.
The correspondent noted, in his report posted at 10:05am Mecca time Monday morning, that an official source in the Iraqi puppet army confirmed the attack and the death of four US Marines in the blast.
QudsPress, however, reported in a dispatch posted at 7:47am GMT that the attack took place on 20 Street and quoted witnesses as saying that the bomb destroyed a Humvee and killed one American soldier and wounded three more. Immediately after the blast, US forces encircled the area and began searching nearby houses and shops looking for fighters or weapons, QudsPress reported.
The attack is part of a sharp escalation of Resistance activity in al-Fallujah in the last few weeks.
Al-Khalidiyah.
Two Resistance fighters killed while planting a bomb.
In a dispatch posted at 4:45pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before two Iraqi Resistance fighters were planting a bomb by the side of a road in al-Khalidiyah, anticipating the arrival of a US military column. The bomb exploded prematurely, however as the fighters were planting it, eyewitnesses reported, martyring both of them.
Witnesses said that after the explosion, Resistance forces encircled the area and evacuated the bodies of their two brothers to an unknown destination.
Baghdad.
Resistance wipes out commander of “Operation Lightning” in Abu Ghurayb.
In a bulletin posted at 10:05am Mecca time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before Iraqi Resistance fighters in Abu Ghurayb had killed puppet Brigadier General Khamis al-‘Amiri, the local commander of the so-called “Operation Lightning” offensive against the Resistance and other opponents of the occupation.
A source in the puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter wearing an explosive belt got into a gathering of Iraqi puppet troops whom al-‘Amiri was visiting on an inspection tour. The Resistance fighter blew himself up close to the general, killing him along with a number of those close by ミ all of them Iraqi puppet troops and members of the puppet police “wolf brigade.”
The Iraqi puppet regime had made no announcement of the assassination as of the time of reporting, but sources in the puppet police and puppet army confirmed that General al-‘Amiri had been killed in the attack. At the time of writing, US troops and Iraqi puppet forces were massed around the area in Abu Ghurayb where the attack took place.
Resistance bombards Saddam International Airport.
Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded Saddam International Airport, where the American occupation forces have set up one of their biggest bases in Iraq, at 10am local time Monday morning.
Sources in the puppet security forces deployed in the Airport, who asked not to be identified, told Mafkarat al-Islam that six Katyusha rockets blasted into the western parts of the airport, damaging runways for US fighter aircraft. They also damaged a US F-16 airplane and a number of vehicles. Thick clouds of smoke were seen rising over the area as several powerful secondary explosions rocked the area. Large numbers of US helicopters flew in over the area after the attack.
The First Army of Muhammad Resistance organization announced its responsibility for the attack in a communiqu, a copy of which was obtained by the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam. The statement said that the rockets struck their intended targets.
Iraqi Resistance bomb blasts US column on Airport Road Monday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 4:15pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded on the road to Saddam International Airport, destroying a Humvee and killing three US troops and injuring a fourth.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam in Baghdad that a bomb planted under a billboard by the side of Airport Road blew up as a US military column was passing, killing and wounding four US troops. A source in the Iraqi puppet police reported that the blast killed three American troops and seriously wounded a fourth.
After the attack, US forces closed the road to the airport, one of the most heavily used in the area of the occupied Iraqi capital, and massed around the area.
US Consul in Baghdad targeted in Iraqi Resistance martyrdom car bombing Monday afternoon.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter blasted an explosives-packed car into a US military convoy in western Baghdad on Monday. QudsPress reported that the American Consul in Baghdad was in the convoy when the attack took place in Baghdad’s al-Yarmuk district.
Iraqi puppet military sources told QudsPress that the convoy in which US Consul Robert Ford was riding was attacked as it pulled away from the headquarters of the Islamic Party in al-Yarmuk.
The source told QudsPress that one American Humvee and one four-wheel drive “civilian” car were completely destroyed by the explosion, which they claimed also killed three Iraqi civilians and wounded three more in addition to inflicting material damage on nearby shops.
QudsPress reported that the precise fate of the US consul was not known, nor was there any information on the extent of casualties suffered by the Americans in the attack.
Earlier, sources in the Iraqi puppet police told Reuters on Monday afternoon that Iraqi “a high-level” American diplomat had survived the attack, though it was not known whether he specifically was the target.
A spokesman for the Iraqi “Islamic Party” said that an American diplomat had concluded a meeting in their party headquarters in western Baghdad and just left when the Resistance car bomb blasted his convoy.
The so-called “Islamic Party” was formed after the US occupation of Iraq by remnants of the Iraqi Muslim Brotherhood organization. It has cooperated with the American occupation and its party chief had a seat on the first US puppet “governing council” under proconsul L. Paul Bremer.
Reuters journalists said US soldiers cordoned off the area after the blast, arriving in unusually large numbers for what was otherwise a fairly routine incident in Baghdad. The British news agency initially reported US officials as claiming they knew about a car bomb attack on a “patrol” but had no knowledge regarding the presence of any American diplomat in the convoy. Reuters quoted one American soldier as saying that he could not comment on the story about the diplomat, but could say that the convoy was not of the usual sort.
Hepatitis spreads dangerously in Iraq as US occupation presides over the ruination of the country’s infrastructure.
The puppet so-called “Iraqi ministry of health” reported on Monday that an additional 1,181 cases of viral heptatits have been reported as a result of polluted water. A source in the puppet “ministry” told QudsPress that the additional 1,181 cases were recorded just in the cities of Baghdad and al-‘Amarah.
Nearly 180 cases were registered in Baghdad, most of them in the district of ar-Rusafah. The rest were in the al-Karakh district of the occupied Iraqi capital.
The majority of the new incidences of the disease, however were registered in the city of al-‘Amarah.
Dr. Wathiq Muhammad Yunus said that splitting drinking water pipes was one main reason for the pollution in which sewer water has mixed with the drinking water supply. Another source of the disease, however, are the itinerant hawkers who sell snacks in prepared using polluted water.
Dr. Yunus noted that the bad economic situation in which so many Iraqis find themselves compelled them to consume unhealthy products, particularly in the hot summer months. Another factor is rampant commercial cheating. Yunus said that the puppet “health ministry” had taken more than 60 samples of water from different parts of Iraq and a study of the samples revealed that 26 of them were unfit. The so-called as-Sadr section of Baghdad as well as an-Nahrawan and al-Fallujah all had unfit drinking water. Samples from those regions contained filth, contaminants, fecal colon bacteria, elevated bacterial levels in general as well as worms in pond sediment.
Dr. ‘AtaAllah as-Sulaymani, the Director of the Viral Hepatitis Department at the Center for Control of Infectious Disesases in Maysan Province, said that the information on the spread of the disease in al-‘Amarah, where there are more than 1,000 reported cases, is not precise. He said that many local people refuse to come to health centers to be tested for fear that they will be given negative results.

Former commander of Ukrainian aggressor troops in Iraq charged with smuggling while in Iraq.
Ukrainian authorities arrested the former head of Ukrainian occupation troops in Iraq on charges of smuggling, prosecutors announced Monday, according to a report by the American Associated Press (AP).
Ukrainian Major General Serhiy Savchenko was charged with smuggling currency during the time when he was commander of the Ukrainian aggressor contingent serving the United States occupation of Iraq, the Prosecutor General's Office indicated in a statement. The AP said that no one in the Prosecutor General’s office could be reached for comment on the story.
The AP reported that in February, Ukrainian authorities had announced that they had arrested several soldiers on leave from Iraq on charges of smuggling US$300,000 in cash. The Ukrainian media have reported allegations that money intended for aggression in Iraq was illegally diverted, and prosecutors were investigating.
The AP reported that the deployment of Ukrainian troops to serve the Americans in Iraq is “deeply unpopular among Ukrainians,” and the newly elected government of Viktor Yushchenko has announced a phased withdrawal of the Ukrainian contingent of 1,650 troops by the end of this year.
Salah ad-Din Province.
At-Taji.
Resistance bomb blasts US column in at-Taji.
An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a US military column in the town of at-Taji, 20km north of Baghdad at 11am Monday morning. The at-Taji correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the blast destroyed one US Humvee, killing the soldiers who were in it.
Local residents and a source in the fire department who did not reveal his name stated that the explosion killed five US troops and seriously wounded a sixth.
US occupation forces encircled the area, closing all roads and thereby halting truck shipments of fuel to northern Iraq, since the blast occurred on the highway used to deliver fuel to electricity generators in the north of the country.
Diyala Province.
Ba‘qubah.
Iraqi Resistance fighters in three cars attacked a puppet police roadblock 25km south of the city of Ba‘qubah, (which is 50km north of Baghdad). Then an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-packed car into the area, according to an announcement by the puppet police on Monday.
A puppet police official in Ba‘qubah who asked not to be identified said that Resistance fighters armed with rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns and hand grenades attacked the puppet police road block in the Muhammad Sukran area southeast of Ba‘qubah at exactly 2:30pm local time Monday.
The source said that the blast, “killed four members of the puppet police patrol and wounded three more,” according to a Reuters report monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam. The source said that the well-planned attack was followed minutes later by the explosion of a car bomb near a puppet police car that had raced to the scene to help the other puppet personnel at the scene of the attack. The car bomb explosion wounded seven more puppet policemen, the source said.
Ninwa Province.
Tall ‘Afar.
Resistance bombards US base in Tall ‘Afar Monday morning.
Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded the US base in Tall ‘Afar, west of Mosul in northern Iraq at 10am local time Monday morning. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that a number of mortar rounds blasted into the base, sending up clouds of smoke. That was followed by two explosions from within the US-occupied facility according to local people who live near the American base.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that helicopters could be seen hovering over the area.
An-Najaf Province.
An-Najaf.
Russian ambassador meets with Muqtada as-Sadr in an-Najaf.
The Russian ambassador to Iraq flew to an-Najaf Monday and started talks with Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr, the embassy said according to an American Associated Press (AP) report. Ambassador Vladimir Chamov was making the first visit by a Russian envoy to as-Sadr’s office since the war in Iraq started two years ago, embassy protocol chief Ivan Zhurba said.
Zhurba had no details on the purpose of the talks, but both Russia and as-Sadr were fierce opponents of the war.
Shaykh Jalil an-Nuri, an as-Sadr aide in an-Najaf, confirmed that the talks had started and added that a delegation of Sunni tribal leaders from the defiant al-Anbar Province towns of ar-Ramadi and al-Fallujah was expected to meet with as-Sadr later.
“The meeting was held to develop the relationship between Russia and Muqtada as-Sadr because the as-Sadr movement is very influential and well-known in Iraq,” an-Nuri said without providing further details.
He added that the meeting had nothing to do with as-Sadr’s talks with the al-Anbar delegation.
Al-Basrah Province.
Al-Basrah.
Puppet forces stage more raids on Sunni residents of al-Basrah area.
Puppet so-called “Iraqi national guards” and puppet police raided the largely Sunni Balad Salamah area of Abu al-Khasib near al-Basrah at 3:30pm local time Monday afternoon, arresting three local Sunni residents, according to preliminary reports, Mafkarat al-Islam reported.
In a dispatch posted at 8:10pm Mecca time, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Basrah reported that Iraqi puppet forces had encircled the area and were allowing no one in or out.
