Three US Soldiers Killed, Four More Wounded In Attack In Afghanistan

An attack against a US military vehicle in southern Afghanistan has killed three American troops and wounded four more. The vehicle was hit near the main southern city of Kandahar and it appears to have been a martyrdom attack according to early reports in.
Of the four wounded, one is said to be in serious condition and all those wounded have been flown to a US base in Kandahar for treatment according to a US military statement. The statement did not mention the three that were killed.
General Salim Khan, the deputy police chief for Kandahar, said the bomber had rammed a car full of explosives into the U.S. vehicle, and that at least three American troops were killed.
"The U.S. vehicle was blown up in the suicide attack," Khan said.
An AP reporter at the scene following the incident said he saw three American soldiers being carried on stretchers into a U.S. military helicopter. Two other U.S. helicopters were hovering overhead and several U.S. military vehicles also had arrived at the site.
It is widely suspected that this is attack was carried out by Taliban Mujahideen however there has been no claim of responsibility yet.
