Al-Anbar Province.
Hit.
Three US troops reported killed in roadside bombing near Hit late Wednesday afternoon.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded on the strategic highway northwest of Hit, 150km west of Baghdad at 6pm local time Wednesday afternoon.
Residents of the village of al-Ma‘murah that lies northwest of Hit who saw the attack told the Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that a Resistance bomb, which was planted by the side of the strategic highway, blew up when a column of eight US armored vehicles and two Humvees passed by.
The witnesses said that the explosion destroyed one armored vehicle, killing three US troops and wounding three others American soldiers.

Resistance fighters shoot down helicopter that rocketed civilian houses Wednesday afternoon.
Iraqi Resistance fighters shot down a US Apache helicopter over the ath-Tharthar area northwest of Baghdad at 3pm local time Wednesday afternoon.
Residents of ath-Tharthar who witnessed the downing told Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance fighters fired a rocket ミ the precise type of which they did not know ミ at the helicopter, striking the rear of the craft and causing it to crash about two kilometers outside the city. It was seen on the ground completely wrecked and its crew of two American soldiers were killed.
The witnesses said that the helicopter had been one of four taking part in a mission to rocket and shell a location that the Americans believed was a refuge for Iraqi Resistance fighters. The residents of the area insist, however, that the homes that the Americans were targeting belonged to local civilians and that the American attack left three civilians dead, one of them a woman, and four other civilians wounded.
Ar-Ramadi.
Resistance martyrdom car bomber blasts US-occupied house midday Wednesday.
In a dispatch posted at 1:45pm Mecca time Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short time earlier an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-packed car into a house that was being occupied and used by US forces as a barracks in the as-Sufiyah area of ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad.
Eyewitnesses told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance driver of the carbomb managed to get past the concrete barricades that the Americans had put up around the building, blowing up his car in the front courtyard of the house. The blast brought down the whole building, killing or injuring about 15 US troops who were inside.
American forces backed by helicopter gun ships rushed to cordon off the area and prevent local people and reporters from approaching.
Resistance fighters ambush US patrol in eastern ar-Ramadi Wednesday noon.
Iraqi Resistance forces attacked an American patrol in the industrial area to the east of ar-Ramadi at 12 noon local time Wednesday.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades, attacked the American patrol, sparking a firefight that lasted for 10 minutes. Two US Humvees were set on fire in the attack, killing or wounding a number of US troops.
After the attack, US forces quickly encircled the entire area, making an accurate count of casualties impossible.
US helicopters then landed on the scene to evacuate the bodies of the dead and wounded and to haul away the wreckage of the vehicles.
Al-Hadithah.
Five US troops killed in martyrdom car bombing near al-Hadithah Wednesday morning.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden white Daewoo car into a column of US military vehicles by the ash-Shaykh Hadid Cemetery north of al-Hadithah in western Iraq.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the martyrdom fighter blasted into one of the armored vehicles in the US column as it was on its way into the city of al-Hadithah. The explosion totally destroyed the vehicle, killing five US troops.
The witnesses reported that all the dead American soldiers’ bodies were completely charred inside the vehicle, after the fire that resulted from the car bombing had totally immolated them. The other American troops were unable to get them out of the vehicle after the car bomb hit because of the intense fire and explosions.
At the time the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent filed his report, which was posted at 11:05am Mecca time Wednesday morning, US forces had completely encircled the area where the blast took place and had shut down the roads leading to the area.
Baghdad.
Four foreign mercenaries reported killed in bombing on Airport Road at noon.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a column of armor-plated vehicles of the type used by foreign contractor mercenaries acting as guards for the US occupation forces on the road to Saddam International Airport at about 12 noon local time Wednesday.
Residents of the al-Jihad neighborhood of Baghdad told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb, which was planted by the side of the highway leading to the airport ミ where the Americans have set up one of their biggest bases in occupied Iraq ミ exploded as the column of six armor-plated cars passed by. The blast set one of the vehicles on fire, killing four foreigners and wounding one other.
Resistance car bomb blasts US armored vehicle killing six US troops in al-‘Amiriyah Wednesday morning.
An Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a US military column in al-‘Amiriyah in western Baghdad at about 9am local time Wednesday morning.
Residents of al-‘Amiriyah told Mafkarat al-Islam that an explosives-packed car that was parked by the side of the old road to Abu Ghurayb in al-‘Amiriyah blew up as a US armored column passed by. The blast destroyed one American armored vehicle, killing its six-man crew.
US forces encircled the area after the blast, preventing local people and journalists from approaching. Nevertheless, witnesses confirmed that the American armored vehicle was totally destroyed and they saw it ablaze with flames leaping from it.
Tortured, murdered bodies of 11 Sunnis found. They had been arrested by puppet police.
The discovery of the bodies of 11 Iraqi Sunnis, one of them the Imam of a local mosque, to the east of the so-called Madinat as-Sadr section of Baghdad prompted the Sunni Waqf Pious Endowment Board to demand an investigation into the circumstances of the killings.
Families of the dead reported that their loved ones were shot to death but that their bodies also bore clear signs of torture. They said that they had last seen their relatives when Iraqi puppet police had arrested them, according to a report by Agence France Presse (AFP) published in the Khaleej Times newspaper for Wednesday, 13 July 2005.
The 11 were arrested in a puppet police commando raid in the early hours of Sunday in a northern district of Baghdad, according to a puppet official who asked not to be identified.
Their bodies were found dumped in the north of the city on Tuesday, the source added. AFP reported that there was no immediate reaction from the puppet police.
“The bodies all bore torture marks and bullet wounds to the back of the head,” the Waqf official said.
The head of the Waqf, ‘Adnan ad-Dulaymi, for his part on Wednesday called for an official investigation into the case and asked that its results be made public.
“This isn’t the first time this sort of thing has happened,” ad-Dulaymi said in a statement.
“We want to know who is responsible for such horrible crimes,” he added.
There have been numerous allegations of arbitrary arrest, torture, and murder of Sunnis by special puppet police forces over the past few months, particularly since Shi‘i chauvinist Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari was installed by the US occupation forces as “prime minister” of the puppet regime in April. Numerous US think tanks have pushed the idea of partitioning Iraq along sectarian and ethnic lines and Shi‘i chauvinist militias and security forces have been stirring up sectarian tensions as the Iraqi Resistance grows ever stronger.
Car bomb targets US checkpoint in ar-Rustamiyah.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a position occupied by a US patrol in the Baghdad al-Jadidah area in the southeast of the occupied Iraqi capital on Wednesday.
In a dispatch posted at 3:09pm Mecca time, the Saudi News Agency (WAS) reported the US military as admitting that one American soldier was killed in the attack. Witnesses told the Saudi agency that three American soldiers were wounded.
Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported that the blast also killed three Iraqi puppet police officers, one of them a colonel in the puppet force. Six more puppet police were among those wounded in the blast.
WAS reported Iraqi puppet police sources as claiming that 25 Iraqis had been killed, included seven children and at least 25 more were injured. In an earlier report, the puppet police had listed the number of Iraqi dead as four and the number of wounded as nine.
The BBC reported that the large number of reported civilian casualties was due to the fact that the American troops were handing out candy to local children. American forces frequently have taken to hiding behind human shields in situations that they find threatening. They distribute sweets, tee-shirts, sports balls or other cheap gifts ミ providing themselves with human shields in an effort to fend off Resistance attacks. Parents are regularly warned that US troops are always targets of the Resistance and children must be kept away from them at all times.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent who attended the press conference reported that judge ‘Abd al-Hasan al-Maliki a spokesman for the puppet “justice ministry” said that most of those prisoners were “under investigation” by Iraqi puppet “security officers.”
The prisoners to whom al-Maliki was referring were those ミ mostly Sunni Iraqis ミ rounded up by US and Iraqi puppet forces in the so-called “operation lightning” in west, northern, and central Iraq and did not include the people arrested from their homes by the occupation in the so-called “operation sword,” “operation new market,” or “operation matador” in al-Qa’im.

Resistance fighters then opened up with a bombardment of the base, firing six heavy 120mm mortar rounds into the stricken US-occupied facility.

In a statement to Qana in Baghdad, the sources said that they had called on the Italian occupation forces, who are garrisoned in an-Nasiriyah, to remove the tanks after the municipality declined to do so on the grounds that it had no way of undertaking the task.
The Italian occupation forces have so far refused to remove the tanks.

Instances of babies born with deformed hearts and chromosome deformation increased markedly in the period between 1995 and 2000, Qana quoted the study as saying. In addition new forms of birth defect previously unknown in the area made their appearance at that time, such as children being born with missing limbs.
